A1-0 is the sci-fi canon roleplay (RP) of the South Pacific. This topic provides an overview of the contents of A1-0 on this forum, and provides general information and important links. This topic also serves as a general discussion thread for all things A1-0 or RP in general. Feel free to post your questions below.

Introduction

A1-0 is a sector of space of the Lampshade Galaxy. A sci-fi setting, this canon mixes elements from various sci-fi brands, such as Star Wars, Star Trek and Halo. The canon was founded in 2017 and has a mix of player-controlled nations and non-player nations that everyone can reference and help worldbuild. Getting started might seem a little daunting, but hopefully this introduction to the A1-0 category on these forums and reading the guide will help you on your journey. For those of us who come from the old forums, it should be noted that threads are called topics here.

Navigating the A1-0 category

Once you click on the A1-0 category on the main page you will see two drop-down lists at the top and the most important A1-0 topics pinned below them. The topics with the most recent activity are listed below them. In the drop-down list to the right you will find tags used in the A1-0 category. Selecting one of them shows all related topics e.g. diplomatic RPs or news, similar to the sub-forums on the former forums. All tags are listed here below.

Tags

The following are the tags associated with RP in the A1-0 canon. All new topics that you create must be appropriately tagged. Refer to the below list for general RP and canon-specific tags.

General

  • ic - used when the content is considered in-character. Replies should be the characters or nations responding.
  • ooc - used when the content is considered out-of-character. OOC-tagged topics are usually for organising or discussing things without progressing a story through characters or nations. Replies should not be from a character or nation, but you, the player behind them.
  • meta - for topics that deal with meta aspects of RP, such as this introduction.

Canon-specific

  • a1-0-media - used to mark topics that contain IC media, such as national news.
  • a1-0-maps - used for topics that contain maps, such as the map of sector A1-0 or your own space maps.
  • a1-0-diplomacy - used to mark topics with diplomatic IC roleplay.
  • a1-0-facts - if you don’t want to use the Wiki, you can post fact topics about your nation, organisation or anything you like on these forums.
