A mass of people gather in front of a stage at the building of the rykinisian local assembly in Odaclea. On it, a lectern patiently waits. Antonides is doing the last tuches to his suit and reciting what he must say one last time. He wanted to hold this speach in Thermopetri, but his advisors and security staff stopped him, saying that it would be too dangerous. Ready, he exits the building and walks up to the lectern:

“Citizens of thalapadis, my brothers and sisters, today’s a day of victory, but also a day of grief. The last bits of rykapadian insurgent forces have been defeated. There is no peace treaty, as the enemy of peace and coexistance decided to leave his soliders and comrades he pushed into a war in our hands and flee to try to save his own life. Thankfully, our hands are gentle and merciful, but we can’t just leave this as if nothing happened. Blood has been spilled, too much of it. Innocent blood colors the rivers red. Van Mathis has shown that he isn’t a politician, but a butcher. Several thousand of our own have been killed, their crime being only that they loved their nation and stayed loyal to it. We hope that their sacrifice will not be in vain, that they will be remembered and honored for their bravery and heroism. The parlament has decided on several measures to normalize the state of the nation. The province of Rykinisi shall stay under military occupation untill reconstruction can be started and basic infrastructure repaired. After that the army shall retreat and the province shall elect a local government. All colaborators of the rebel government shall be tried for treason and punished for their actions. Van Mathis is declared a international criminal and we request all nations that have any information on where he could have eacaped and how to join the efforts to find him and bring to justice. A investigation has started to find how weapons got passed the blockade and how the crown was stolen. We suspect corruption deep within the military and connections to high command. We will ask anyone who has any information to report to their local police station. You will be rewarded. Thank you in advance.”
