Hundreds Missing After Massive Volcanic Lahar Buries 3 Remote Villages in Zuhlgan

BREAKING— A minor eruption of Mount Zhrana along the Krauanagaz-Zuhlgan border has triggered a catastrophic lahar that has buried three small villages in Western Prira, authorities report. The sudden volcanic activity, though minor in itself, unleashed a massive mudflow that swept through the low-lying settlements, leaving devastation in its wake. Emergency services are on the scene, and initial reports indicate that several residents remain unaccounted for. Local officials are urging anyone in the affected area to evacuate immediately and to follow instructions from disaster response teams.

Air travel in Central and Southern Krauanagaz, as well as Western Zuhlgan, has been affected by the volcanic ash still pluming from the mouth of the volcano. In addition, regional geologists and officials are expressing concern that this activity could be indicative of potential future unrest at Mount Alkantarak further to the south, prompting heightened monitoring of the entire volcanic arc. The Krauanagazan Geologic Survey has not yet lifted the Volcano Watch issued for Mt. Alkantarak on Feb. 3.

BREAKING— According to the Krauanagazan Geologic Survey (KGS) and Cordilian Institute of Geosciences, a major eruption of Mount Zhrana is now expected within the next 12–16 hours. The KGS reports that elevated seismic activity and intensified gas emissions prompted the decision to issue a Volcano Warning for hundreds of thousands of people living in the shadow of Mt. Zhrana.

Authorities urge all residents in the high-risk zones to evacuate immediately and follow the instructions of local emergency services.

BREAKING— Officials say that recent seismic readings indicate that tectonic pressure is being redirected toward Mount Alkantarak, which is why Mount Zhrana has not fully erupted. The Krauanagazan Geological Survey reports that increased seismic activity along the West Continental Trench is channeling stress into the magma chamber beneath Mt. Alkantarak, heightening the risk of a major eruption. Authorities are urging residents in the affected high-risk zones to remain alert and review emergency evacuation plans.

The Cordilian Institute of Geosciences has raised Mt. Alkantarak’s Volcanic Activity Risk Level to ‘Orange’ signaling increased concern that the caldera that seals the mouth of the volcano could collapse, causing a potentially catastrophic eruption. Mt. Alkantarak’s last recorded eruption took place in March of 821 CE, well over 1,200 years ago according to the Luzayyagaz Volcanic Observatory’s records. Experts at the Observatory have stated that at this time no other active volcanoes are showing signs of increased activity or potential eruption.

Across central and southern Krauanagaz, reports have emerged of minor shaking and noticeable tremors, sparking widespread unease. Emergency response teams are deploying additional resources and conducting evacuation drills in the most vulnerable areas. Scientists are intensifying monitoring efforts using advanced satellite imagery and ground sensors to track the shifting tectonic stresses. Authorities continue to advise citizens to stay informed and prepared, as international experts warn that any escalation in volcanic activity could have far-reaching consequences.

Additionally, authorities have issued a volcanic ashfall advisory for much of the southeast Cordilian Peninsula. Residents in these areas are advised to stay indoors and use protective masks, as lingering ash clouds may reduce air quality and disrupt transportation. Experts forecast that an ash plume from Mt. Alkantarak could reach as far as northeastern Crabry, largely due to the effects of the caldera collapsing into the magma inside the mouth of the volcano and historic wind patterns.

Krauanagaz & Zuhlgan Agreed to Extend Ceasefire Another 2 Weeks

Gulf War— Despite widespread domestic skepticism about the ceasefire’s longevity, Krauanagaz, and Zuhlgan have agreed to extend the 14-day ceasefire to March 3. Under the original plan, the ceasefire was set to end on Monday, February 17, but renewed diplomatic efforts have delayed hostilities amid mounting pressure from international mediators, namely Emerald. Officials on both sides claim the extension will provide much-needed time to address humanitarian concerns and work toward a sustainable peace, though critics warn that the fragile truce could collapse at any moment.

Knyaz Viktor III Rucheyski has reportedly been hospitalized after suffering a myocardial infarction. The 58 year old Knyaz is reportedly recovering from the incident, without any major backlash.

The 58 year old Knyaz’s health had reportedly been deteriorating, mainly due to stress and recent unhealthy habits, such as the lavish royal diet, and a lack of exercise. It is probable that the current political situation in the Kingdom greatly contributed to this event, due to the accumulated stress on the Knyaz.

As a measure of precaution, several soldiers were garrisoned within and around the hospital the Knyaz was admitted in. The exact hospital was also not revealed to the public. Reportedly, several NRF representatives announced they were going to attack the hospital.

However, news of another major military-NRF skirmish was reported in the southeastern province of Zimnitsa, 132 km away from Sarnitsa, where the royal residence is located. Such skirmish was pretty much a repeat of the last skirmishes between the NRF and the Visrodin Army, in which the NRF managed to pillage vast amounts of infantry and other varied military equipment.

Developing— At a press conference in Varekko earlier today, the Okhoa Independence Party (OIP) announced its full-throated endorsement of self-determination for all native Keylic peoples, also recognized as First Nations people. The statement comes amid widespread protests in Izaakia— where demonstrators, chanting “From the sea to the pole!” in defense of historic Izaakian expansionism, are opposing a referendum on devolution— the OIP declared that the Keylic peoples must be granted full autonomy and representation in regional and global governance.

In a more measured response, the Okhoa Regional Council issued a statement emphasizing the importance of, “respecting the evolving aspirations of our diverse communities,” while carefully implying support for the OIP’s stance, even amid the current political tensions with Krauanagaz and Zuhlgan. This dual development signals a potential realignment in the region’s political landscape, with significant implications for future discussions on devolution and self-governance as Okhoa’s own referendum approaches.

Panic has struck a bar in the city of Krum as Marshal-General Iliya Tsvetkov has been fatally shot. The individual who shot him was apprehended by the military police, without any resistance from his part. His sentence was not made publicly available by the authorities.

There are ongoing rumors about the possibility that such individual might have been a spy, or a state-sponsored hitman to kill Tsvetkov. The Marshal was one of the highest-ranking members of the Army, and had reportedly expressed disagreement with Todorov’s plans and intentions, even possibly sympathising with the NRF.

Marshal-General Iliya Tsvetkov’s death is just one of the many suspicious deaths or disappearances that have suddenly struck large numbers of military officers from all rankings. It is thought that even up to two or three hundred officers have suddenly vanished, meaning that they have probably been killed.

The Vayuta Array Offshore Wind Farm.

⋆༺𓆩✴𓆪༻⋆

Following the empire’s ever growing energy needs and its project to fully remove coal and natural gas from its energy generation by 2035, Kustanna has given start to Project Enlile, a further expansion of the Vayuta Array wind farm. The Array is Kustanna’s biggest offshore wind farm, and one of the biggest wind farms in the entire South Pacific: it currently occupies an area of 1024 square kilometers in the Violet Gulf, and is located approximately 120 kilometers from the coasts of western Itaakustan at the closest approach. With its 440 wind turbines the Vayuta Array wind farm has a total capacity of 4.43 Gigawatts, and is capable of powering more than 1.7 million homes.

However, Project Enlile aims to further increase the size and capabilities of the Array by installing an additional 60 turbines, aiming to reach a total capacity of 5.2 Gigawatts that would be able to power 2 million homes. Current speculations put the delivery of Project Enlile’s turbines in late november to early december, after which they will be installed over the course of a week by six installation vessels.

While Krauanagaz condemned the attacks, Secretary of State Darius Korin called Zuhlgan’s decision to postpone the referendum, “impulsive, and brash.” Korin encouraged Zuhlgan to reconsider its decision as unrest spreads rapidly across Okhoa.

Developing— The Zuhlgani Foreign Ministry has announced that the Divine Committee is actively deliberating on the postponing of Okhoa’s highly anticipated independence referendum. The statement, released earlier this afternoon, cited “prevailing security concerns and regional instability” as key factors in the committee’s discussions. Although regional geopolitical analysts suspect that the rifts within the Divine Committee have grown deeper. Suggesting that the announcement to postpone the referendum may not have been approved by the Arkava, but was instead issued by dissenting Autarks on the Committee.

The potential delay comes amid ongoing unrest in Okhoa, with weeks of separatist protests and rising tensions following the expulsion of Krauanagazan diplomats. Additionally, the recent refugee tragedy involving the Okhoa Coastal Patrol and the growing public outcry have only intensified political pressures surrounding the referendum.

While the Zuhlgani government has not confirmed a final decision, sources indicate that an official postponement could trigger further unrest, as pro-independence groups have already vowed to resist any interference in the referendum process. Krauanagaz and international observers are closely monitoring the situation, with concerns that any delay could deepen the political crisis in Okhoa.

BREAKING— Zuhlgan and Okhoa have reportedly reached an agreement that will allow Okhoa’s delayed independence referendum to proceed as scheduled. The Zuhlgani Foreign Ministry confirmed the deal but declined to disclose specific details, stating only that it ensures, “stability and the rule of law,” in the protectorate. The Okhoa Regional Council has acknowledged the agreement but offered no further comment. Analysts speculate that the terms may include new conditions or oversight measures imposed by Zuhlgan. The referendum, a highly contentious issue, is now set to move forward as anticipated, though tensions in Okhoa remain high.
