The Run of the Decade (Delegate 2025)

Dispatch Version

After many slices of pineapple pizza (and cakešŸ°) I,New Halo have come to the decision to run for delegate!

As delegate, my overall goal will be to reconnect gameside and forumside to create not allow a better region but a stronger one!

WA
First and foremost, I am determined to boost the native WA population. Our community is filled with hundreds of engaged non-WA members, and I am ready to capitalize on that potential! If this means adding better rewards to S.W.A.N., I’ll do it.

Secondly, I want to enhance our region’s voting power within the World Assembly. TSP has approximately 700 WA members, which is the second highest in the world; however, only about 200 of them participate in voting on proposals. Our views must be represented in the WA. As a delegate, I will collaborate with future O.W.L. Directors to encourage more members to get involved.

With these two simple moves, I’m confident that The South Pacific can become the most powerful region on the site!!!

Community
The South Pacific, by far, has the best culture on NationStates. And even though the Minister of Culture is in charge of events that isn’t going to stop me from having fun with you guys.

TSP RMB Rewards first created by former delegate Tepertopia over 2 years ago and since has been forgotten… UNTIL
April 2025, when I brought them back! Since I wasn’t a top government official, I couldn’t ā€œofficiallyā€ revive it. But as delegate, it would be a great honor to ā€œMake TSP RMB Rewards Great Againā€!!!

I also intend to engage in daily conversations with residents to gather their feedback. I will explore how the Prime Minister and I can collaborate to enhance our region, addressing specific concerns and identifying opportunities for growth and improvement. By actively listening to the community, we can work together to ensure that everyone’s voices are heard.

And lastly, whenever the Minister of Culture isn’t running a poll, I will gladly take poll requests.

Telegrams
We have all read Ebonhand’s amazing ā€œFortnightly Briefingsā€, and that will be something that I continue. I believe it’s essential for our residents to stay informed about regional developments. If I’m elected, I will even allow the region to vote on the name of these telegrams😁

Thank You for your time, I can’t wait to see some good change come to our region.

I would like to note that while you did share your conflicts of interest in the election nominations thread, the Elections Act reads:

If you could, please edit your campaign to include your conflicts of interest as well.

Oh.

Of course

I may have more questions in the future, but I’ll start with one that jumped out to me in reading your platform.

What authority does the Delegate have to appoint ministers, ā€œmonitorā€ roleplay, or assume functions that the government has ā€œforgottenā€? All seem to be beyond the role of an apolitical head of state.

When I said ā€œappoint a Minister of RPā€ I meant it more as allowing Knowhere to have an RO to monitor the regions rp.

It would kinda like a RMB Mod but in Knowhere.

Hope that cleared things up.

So, I have a few questions.

  1. How exactly do you plan to increase the native WA membership, beyond adding better rewards to S.W.A.N.?

  2. What specific strategies will be used to convert the large number of non-WA members into active WA members?

  3. What concrete steps will you take to encourage more of the 700 members, especially the 500 currently not voting, to participate in votes?

  4. How will you collaborate with the O.W.L. Directors to sustain long-term engagement?

  5. What is the detailed plan for officially reviving and improving the TSP RMB Rewards?

  6. How will this program be maintained and monitored for effectiveness?

  7. On telegrams, Ebonhand’s have been fun because they have included Ebonhand’s humour as well as his ability to include serious detail to be communicated to the region. I am extremely concerned that you pledge to continue this tradition because you are a completely different person to Ebonhand, different personality, different everything. Whilst it might seem like good news to continue it, what is your point in continuing it? What details will you provide that Ebonhand did not? How will your briefings be different to Ebonhand’s and worthwhile, rather than simply a re-hash or copy of someone else’s idea?

  1. I can’t force anyone to join the WA, BUT we sure can encourage people to. That’s why I want to personally make the rewards better.

  2. As Delegate, one of my primary responsibilities will be casting the region’s vote in the World Assembly. I intend to work closely with OWL to encourage greater participation in our voting and policy discussions. Together, we’ll be doing outreach both on the RMB and via telegrams to get more nations involved.

  3. I think more people would vote if they knew what they were voting on. There’s already a place where citizens can discuss proposals on the Discord. I believe it will be beneficial if theres a space onsite where natives can discuss proposals. I was thinking of creating a separate region such as Knowhere where natives can do this.

  4. If me and the director can maintain both on-site and off-site discussion centers I’m positive that TSP voter confidence and voter count will be sky high.

  5. As I said in the campaign I have already revived the RMB rewards. I would love to make them a regular government dispatch. Improvement wise the format could definitely use a upgrade and I would love to make new badges. More sections could be added, etc. But at the end of the day the TSP rmb rewards are for funsies. :upside_down_face:

  6. If your talking about the RMB Rewards I handle and maintain it like I have been since April.

  7. Of course me and Ebonhand are different, we are two different people.
Why wouldn’t I keep a very successful tradition. Ebonhand’s Fortnightly Adresess are a easy and fun way to inform the region.
My telegrams will still contain info on regional happenings with my own twist of course. :upside_down_face:

I know nobody liked my suggestion that we make candidates disclose who’s writing their campaigns/what tools they use, but… it’s really odd to me which sentences are punctuated and which aren’t.

I wrote my whole campaign on my phone sooooo

I write everything on my phone.

I don’t care where you wrote your campaign nor do I care to nitpick all the grammatical errors in it. But frankly it is really hard to believe that you sat down to write this and all by yourself ran the entire gamut of the rhetorical spectrum from

I believe it’s essential for our residents to stay informed about regional developments.

It really, really reads like you pulled out ChatGPT to shell out the platitudes and honestly I am not excited to vote for someone that can’t say in their own words that they’d, uh, talk to people in the region.

All I did was copy over my campaign from my dispatch version. Which I have been working on for a month or so.

No AI was used.

Ooookie-dokie.

Hello @New-Halo! Could you please use a little bit of your time to put in two tags on this topic? the campaign-delegate one and election-jul25 one. Thanks!

Regardless of your disagreement with Pronoun, that was uncalled for. Everyone deserves to be treated with respect.

Can we also keep it a bit more serious in general? This is a campaign for Delegate, not for Craziest Person.

@New-Halo I’ll ask you some proper questions later today.

I can’t say that it did. What authority does the Delegate have to appoint ROs, RMB Mods, or any other officials?

By you said that I’m assuming none.

I’ll scrap the whole idea.
