Yeah, I think that ship might have sailed a while ago.

I can’t have Alts??

I don’t make alts to definitely-not-impersonate DOS players or lie about being new when I’m not.

Polish Sheep is not the same as Polish Cow if that was what you were suggesting. I think it would be great if we can focus on the actual merits of the campaign instead.

Yeah I’m not new. Been here for months

I am perfectly aware of that. I think the intention behind choosing the name ā€œPolish Sheepā€ — and then lying about being new — is perfectly clear. I find it patently unprofessional and we should expect better from someone we’re going to hand the (mechanical) keys to the region. That directly impacts the merit of the campaign.

Sorry, your word against yours.

Polish Sheep is meant as a joke. And I haven’t tried to hide that it’s my alt. So I don’t see the problem.

  1. How?
  2. With respect, one of your primary responsibilities as Delegate will not be to cast the region’s vote, you will, as all other WA Members do, have your own vote and you will have the biggest say in making the O.W.L recommendation, however, this is only a recommendation, you cannot make the region vote with that recommendation and, therefore, it is incorrect to say one of your primary responsibilities will be to cast the region’s vote.
  3. They would have to read it, the same as everyone else, this is reinventing the wheel.
  4. So, how will you collaborate with the O.W.L. Directors to sustain long-term engagement? You didn’t really answer the question.
  5. Re-directing me to your campaign is not good enough of a candidate running for Delegate, Head of State of the South Pacific. That response is not the detailed plan.
  6. Once again, this sort of response from a campaign for TSP Head of State is concerning and not good enough. I have not been back since April, I haven’t a clue what you’ve been doing since April and if you want to be elected, I think you’d better pull your finger out and start trying.
  7. You haven’t answered the question. Whilst it might seem like good news to continue it, what is your point in continuing it? What details will you provide that Ebonhand did not? How will your briefings be different to Ebonhand’s and worthwhile, rather than simply a re-hash or copy of someone else’s idea?

With respect your wrong.

The delegate’s vote depends on the OWL recommendation.

Therefore it’s very correct to say that one of the primary responsibilities will be to cast the region’s vote.

Btw not trying to be rude.

I get that you’re not trying to be rude but I’m sorry to correct you once more. The Delegate’s vote is not the region’s vote, the Delegate’s vote is only the Delegate’s vote. The Delegate might vote with the OWL recommendation, however, the Delegate is not casting the region’s vote. The region can see what the Delegate voted but they are still free to ignore it, hence, the Delegate is casting the recommended vote and the recommended vote alone.

The delegate’s vote represents the region

Proof

No, that’s not proof, that’s only stating who the WA Delegate is and the amount of WA Nations who voted For/against within that region. The 556 listed were not all Ebonhand, they were the people in TSP who voted with Ebonhand. Ebonhand’s vote was one, they clicked one button and cast one vote.

Ebonhand voted meaning TSP is against.

That’s still not how it works, every WA Member is free to vote for or against any motion, whether their region makes a recommendation or not, the recommendation is only a recommendation and not law, therefore, anyone who voted against goes into the votes against the motion and anyone voting for goes into the votes for the motion, the Delegate casting their vote does not override the WA Members who voted against their vote.

I understand that but the delegate’s vote overall represents the regions vote.

Can we agree on that?

Actually when a delegate votes their vote equals the amount of endorsements they hold. That’s why quorum raiding is at thing.

Indeed.

Quorum raiding has to do with approvals of proposals, not the strength of the delegates’ votes :stuck_out_tongue:

You misunderstand delegate votes. Delegates’ votes count an extra time for each endorsement they have. The 556 listed as Ebonhand’s votes on the pie chart and the list of delegates is purely the strength of his vote. The individual votes of residents of TSP are not part of that number, rather they are part of the ā€˜individual nations’ count which is the total votes of all non-delegate nations across the site voting.

The reason people refer to the delegate’s vote as the region’s vote is because of the extra strength conferred to it by the endorsements of the people. Whenever someone endorses the delegate, they’re effectively giving them an extra vote. This collective grant of votes is why the delegate’s vote is managed in the way that it is. It’s not just the delegate’s vote, it’s the vote of a significant portion of the region as well.
