Izaakian foreign minister Noor Aqaba was asked to comment on Izaakias recent updates to the lock and key list, and on Thalapadian sanctions.
She said “Firstly on the list, obviously there are some positives on our relations, particularly with the Frost Empire, where relations are normalising and stabilising . Happily we’ve crossed into a more pleasant era with regards to Ryccia and Valora too. On the flip side, TCC restrictions on Vexen village have strained relations, and we shall consider this as a priority to fix. Political uncertainties in UPRAN have caused us to take some minor precautions in regards to critical infrastructure. I’m sure the restrictions on thalapadis and emerald Denver requires no explanation.

Regarding the Thalapadian sanctions, and the unfounded accusations against our chocolate industry, they’re really quite bizarre, and if we’re entirely honest, much more likely to hurt them than it is to hurt us given the imbalance of our economic activity. “

In a totally legit poll conducted in the city of Lindenau by independent analysts, 100 people were asked about the claim of the Thalapadian Ministry of Health regarding Izaakian chocolate containing heavy metals.

Out of 100 polled:
84 answered: “I preferred Gianatlan chocolate anyways” and other variations

45 answered: “eh, it’s still chocolate” and other variations

22 answered with doubt towards the claims made by the Thalapadian Ministry of Health, while 6 doubted the Badger Company’s claims

2 people said they didn’t consume chocolate

1 person said that chocolate tastes better with metals anyways. While his fate is unknown we could simply make the assumption that he died of lead poisoning

1 person was so ballsy he gave us a mere eyebrow raise and his aura was so strong we decided to back off

A independent lab in Chrysa has confirmed that they also found a high amount of heavy metals in Izaakian chocolate, but only in samples from Thalapadis and serounding nations.

“It is possible that the factory producing the chocolate has gotten a bad batch of cacao.” Says a scientist working in the lab. “The cacao plant naturally absorbs cadmium found in the soil, and the amount of lead is mostly based on the handling after harvest. The amounts of cadmium being significantly lower than the amount of lead suggests that there might have been handling issues post harvest. We’d recomend the factory supplying izaakian chocolate to the region to test it’s cacao”

The Badger Chocolate Company has released its batch data for the alleged batches, which show the heavy metal levels were negligible. The Badger Chocolate Company also said the Thalapadian Ministry of Health statement doesn’t reflect reality and the explanation doesn’t explain why there would be widespread contamination of chocolate from Izaakian brands, which are manufactured by several manufacturers and in numerous factories and countries. The Company has accused the nation of Thalapadis of systematic sample contamination to target Izaakian businesses.

The Valoran autocrats have withdrawn from the peace conference in protest. Their official reason was stated to be the “potential abolition of the monarchy” by a proposed referendum, but some sources claim it’s actually due to the intense opposition from the Ryccians to concede any amnesties to their officials. The ceasefire, however, remains in place, as all the other belligerents in this war have hope they’ll return to the negotiating table.

A junior member of the ultranationalist coalition in the Frost General Assembly was censured by fellow ultranationalists and forced to resign in disgrace after he proposed a law that effectively reintroduces segregation in Reizen and the Home Islands.

Ultranationalist members cursed the former assemblyman saying the proposal undermined what it meant to be Frost and spoke out against all forms of discrimination saying, “the Empire is a shining beacon of democracy, nobility and might because it recognizes that the people are its greatest treasure. Our failure to recognize that fact in the past led to self harm and threatened our empire and we must remain vigilant to stop all saboteurs who threaten our people.”

Hardline republicans in the National Convention are pushing for what they deem the “least worst option”. Their proposal would create an elective monarchy with a ceremonial crown elected every fifteen years. Noble titles would remain legally unrecognized, and the monarch would be called the “Prince of the Ryccian Federation”. Some analysts believe the proposal will ultimately fail, but the idea could find traction in moderate circles, as the most moderate delegates on the issue voted in favor as a way to create a stable and “prestigious” Head of State figure that could at least be an obstacle to any future coups.

During a political commentary livestream on Rollercaster, former King Gianluca IV has expressed concerns over expanding the CE too quickly:
“It is a fact, the CE just recently decided on a general command structure and has mainly developed its self-defense capabilities and requirements, but neglected everything else promised with last year’s treaty. I don’t blame anyone, because this is all due to the real geopolitical situation, however the consequence out of this is, that the CE is far from ready to admit new members. Governments like those from Kliegme see this too and thus it’s understandable they are not willing to risk their approval ratings just so a CE member can write a diplomatic win into their history books.”
