ANTARCHAN TECHNOLOGY: The Polaris University of Technology announced that it will be testing the use of VR for a select few classes for the upcoming dark season.
ANTARCHAN FOREIGN AFFAIRS: Queen Wynterre Kamütta and Foreign Affairs minister Joffriess Herriks to meet with FiHami delegation over child labor laws and educational technologies.
ANTARCHAN CULTURE: Kamütt Bay, the capital of Jaekorrepani Province in Western Antarcha, is to host the “Farewell to the Sun” festival on April 5th. While Kamütt Bay and Libra do not see the summer sun and winter moon like Frontier and Polaris, the country still celebrates the festival together as part of the traditions of the ancient Polarri and Haalpani traditions, long before the unification and formation of the Antarchan kingdom.
ANTARCHAN SPORT: Signups have begun for the largest annual sled dog race in Antarcha known as “Notölfékar”, which starts April 25th, as soon as the sun sets for the last time in Polaris. Last year’s champion, Iza and her pack of Polarölfén dogs, have made a statement for the competitors of this years race.
“Remember, respect the ice and snow and let your pack rest as needed. The journey is treacherous and many people have died in this competition due to ill judgement. And to those who may be unaware of the history of the Notölfékar, please be respectful of the track and the many sights you see, and do not touch the grave. That grave is dedicated to Kari, who dragged her dying mail couriers to the nearest town, ensuring that they could get the help they needed to survive at the expense of her own life.”
The race starts from Polaris, racing southward and winding west until reaching old Alarki, renamed Kari after 1886 in honor of Kari the sled dog. It typically takes a week and a half to complete, though a record of 10 days was achieved in 2001.
