The Medical Board of Doctors (MBD) reports an unexpected high number of people suffering from gastroenteritis in the Duriver region.

The Ministry of State Industry has stated in an end-of-year report that the nation’s coal-to-liquid-fuels coal liquefaction program has succeeded in increasing the usability of Pelinese coal supplies and that existing and new coal mines will be operated to produce mostly chemicals manufacturing feedstocks and synthetic petroleum for the foreseeable future.

The yearly Capital Parade has begun in the Sedunnic capital Grovne. The parade is a traditional part of the national day celebrations and mixes military units with rescue services and less formal participants such as student and sport associations. Usually several hundreds of thousands come to watch the parade, which this year also has military units from allied nations in the prestigious first echelons. Among others, they include elements from the Gianatlan Army, the famous Frost 901st Mechanized Battalion as well as Sallodesian Marines, Stoinian Mountaineers and Karnetvorian and Transsunerian infantry units.
Air components from the Frost Empire have previously performed over several Sedunnic cities and two Cordiliafighters from Ginatla have performed the traditional “flag flight” which paints two white stripes on the blue sky, forming the flag of Sedunn.

The mission “Staubfühler” (Dust feeler) to the Botnienn Belt is being finalised, a spokesperson from the EfSA announced. It is set to launch in April 2023 to maximize the swing-by effect of both Visi and Porea to reach the Botnienn belt. Arriving there it will collect dust samples and examine them.

Gianaltan Torsten Scheidler has successfully completed his record breaking skydiving attempt in Keylian Izaakia today. The record attempt sponsored by Suprale of Gianalta took place in the USI after Gianaltan health and safety bureaucracy proved to be too much of an obstacle.
The attempt involved Torsten Schieder taking a gas air balloon to an altitude of 42km before free falling 42 km in 4 minutes and 34 seconds reaching a terminal velocity of 1323km an hour, setting both altitude and speed records.

President Pike awards the Montacia Regatta Cup to BELLVINN - TEAM SEDUNN after a close fought race from Surfers Paradise to Chateaux Liberté where they beat IZAAKIAN AIRLINES - TEAM IZAAKIA by just 4 meters in the 1000km race. In third place was PLANK SURF Co - TEAM BRODLANCIA trailing by 700 meters and MARLIN INSURANCE - TEAM MONTACIA finished 9th in a field of 24. The Montacia Regatta Cup is believed to be one of the oldest sporting events in the world, with near continuous races since ancient times.

The police enquiry and investigation reports into the Slaughterhouse Massacre which led to the death of President Blanc, her security detail, the cabinet and several Slaughterhouse staff were published today. They outlined several failing which led to the deaths, they were.
- The security detail was under equipped and manned for the scale of such an assault.
- The Presidential Retreat at Slaughterhouse was too remote to ensure a rapid response with the nearest available armed units 1hr20 mins away by helicopter.
- Border Security and patrols and procedures to the south were too lax, with unarmed units providing little obstacle to armed Ryccian special forces.
- The lack of centralised and integrated security monitoring of the border meant that the murder of border guards was not discovered until the next morning.
- The line of succession rules were ignored, causing a succession crisis.
- Slaughterhouse was not sufficiently equipped with security measures to withstand a siege for a significant amount of time to allow reinforcements.
Other notes from the report.
- The presidents security detail performed admirably under the circumstances, and will be posthumously awarded bravery medals.
- President Blanc was found to be Pregnant at the time of her death.
- President Blanc was found with Vice President Kim surrounded by numerous Ryccian Special Forces corpses, which ballistics suggest we’re killed by the couple using hunting shotguns.
The Enquiry has recommended that Slaughterhouse be decommissioned as a Presidential Residence. Other suggestions have remained top secret for national security measures.

President Pike signs off an Executive Order to decommission Slaughterhouse as a Presidential Residence. The building will be renamed and repurposed as the Stella Blanc Wellness Retreat, where visitors can take advantage of the remote serene location to detoxify their bodies and minds.
President Pike has also ordered the construction of a Lodge in the Makonese Archipelago to serve as the Presidential Retreat. The retreat will stand adjacent to the SBS Base at an island less than 1km away.

The Grand Porta of Finance, professor S. Dorvanii, has made an official statement on the Federal Treasury plan, “Elections in the Vahlahyet of Abri show that the voters are concerned with specific allocations of the federal expenditure; Namely concerned with the housing crisis. I do not promise a resolution of the housing prices, though allocating more resources, within the existing Federal Expenditure Plan, will be considered.”
On the topic of an “impending global crash” underlined by the Central Bank and the Inetezi Stock Exchange, Dorvanii stated that “The free and open market will continue to function independently of government interferences. Whether or not the forecasts are true is irrelevant, there will be no changes to the Federal Treasury plan, as a result of speculations from the free and open market.”
It remains unknown what specific policies the Central Bank and the Stock Exchange plan to implement, though they’ve stated that specifics will be announced appropriately ahead of time, around January.

RPN officers and pilots are reporting consistently lower reliability metrics on the electromagnetic launch systems of the RPN’s Sakura-class aircraft carriers undergoing sea trials than were targeted during development. Engineering staff from designing company Yusuko state that the reliability problems in the launchers are inherent to their status as an emerging technology and that the issues will likely take years to fully rectify without a significant breakthrough in current technology. A expansive media crew has gathered infront of the hall of admirals. Today is the day the first round of the allagí navárchou ends. In a few moments either 2 officers will leave the hall unceremoniously as they are voted out or the honor guard will, indicating that a grand admiral has been chosen.
After a couple of long minutes the masive brass door swings open. Out of it exit two rows of soliders in ceremonial clothes holding long sabres. The grand admiral is chosen. After them naval officers start exiting, forming a semi circle at the end of the honor guard.
Then, in full ceremonial garbs, and with a gold encrusted sabre attached to her belt, her medal of the order of victorious seas, comes out Athena Antonides, the first women to hold the position, and the youngest grand admiral in history. The honor guard solutes her with their swords as she exits the great building behind her. As she comes to them, the officers swear a oath of loyalty to her and the nation. This event marks the end of Androu dominance of the armed forces, and the stsrt of a new era
The Stutska Agency for Health Protection (SAHP) reported that the number of the infected is still rapidly raising. In almost every patient the same virus has been found. The SAHP has announced that they will be searching for the source of the virus.
The Mayor (Danielo Pauno, MM) of Duriver has announced that the river at the estuary will be widened. The goal is to increase the traffic at the Duriver port.

The Gianlucian minister of health, when asked about the Stutskan virus, has reaffirmed, that there will be talks with the Stutskan government on the potential danger of the virus on a broader scale. If so, the Gianlucian government would task the WF Committee of Health to propose measures on containing a spread of the virus quickly before an epidemic or pandemic can develop.
The USI starts to gear up for the most popular sporting event of the Izaakian year, the Unicorp NYE Cup Final. The last game of the season to crown the national Ice Hockey Champions. The game will see the Izaakston Patriots up against the Montacian Mounties at the New Mako Raiders Stadium, The Hyperdome a 45,000 capacity stadium and the biggest Ice Hockey stadium in the USI.
