Developing– A pro-autonomy march in Varekko’s financial district was firebombed by masked assailants just over an hour ago, according to local authorities. Varekko Regional Medical Center says it is treating sixteen injured individuals, all expected to make full recoveries.
The Okhoa Regional Council has imposed a 24-hour lockdown on three northern districts in Varekko and outlying areas after the attack, fearing potential armed clashes between tribal and political factions.
Authorities in Varekko also detained 22 activists participating in the march prior to the attack. Those arrested are accused of “cyber sedition” after they livestreamed footage allegedly showing police brutality during recent protests around Okhoa. Okhoan officials claim the broadcasts incite unrest; human rights groups are calling for their immediate release.
BREAKING— Cordilian Human Rights Watch (CHRW) has issued an urgent statement condemning the Kliegmean court’s decision to sentence several Valkyrian citizens to death for drug trafficking, calling the move a “grave violation of international human rights standards.”
In its statement released Thursday morning, CHRW declared the punishment “disproportionate and inhumane,” citing global norms against capital punishment for non-violent offenses. The organization urged Kliegme to immediately commute the sentences and engage in diplomatic dialogue with Valkyria.
“The imposition of death sentences for non-violent drug offenses, or any offense really, is a flagrant breach of international human rights principles,” said CHRW Regional Director Eliana Trøst. “Such sentencing practices contribute to a climate of fear and injustice, and Kliegme must be held to account.”
CHRW also expressed support for Valkyria’s legal appeals and called on other nations to pressure Kliegme through diplomatic and economic channels.

BREAKING– A second explosion has rocked Varekko, now in the government quarter, targeting a general council session in the National Administration Center. No casualties have been reported, but flames are visible from across the city. Varekko Regional Medical Center has updated the number of injured in today’s earlier attack to 34, 3 of whom are stable but in critical condition. The Okhoa Regional Council has announced an expanded lockdown to include six districts in and around Varekko.
Unconfirmed reports of gunfire near the World Forum observer compound outside of Varekko have surfaced. However, the Okhoa Regional Council declined to comment on the reports. Zuhlgani state media has placed blame on “foreign agitators,” flashing images of Krauanagazan and Izaakian weapon crates, the authenticity of which is disputed.
Security forces, including Okhoa’s Civil Defense Patrol, have been deployed to enforce curfews and conduct targeted raids in connection with the bombings. Authorities have not publicly named suspects but are reportedly pursuing leads involving radicalized anti-autonomy groups operating in the region.
BREAKING— The Okhoa Regional Council has authorized the use of lethal force against unauthorized gatherings within expanded lockdown zones in Varekko, following two explosions and growing civil unrest. Human rights observers warn of a potential humanitarian and political emergency unless transparency is restored and use-of-force policies are immediately reviewed.
Families of 22 detained pro-autonomy activists report being denied access to Varekko Central Prison. The whereabouts of the detainees remain unclear, defying calls for transparency. “They wouldn’t confirm if they were even inside,” said one woman, whose brother was among those arrested for allegedly livestreaming footage of police crackdowns. “We don’t know where they’ve taken them.”
Human rights organizations and the World Forum Office on Civil Liberties have called for immediate transparency and independent access to the detainees. “Secret detention of political prisoners is a line that cannot be crossed without consequences,” said a World Forum statement late Wednesday.
Krauanagaz has ordered all non-essential staff to evacuate its Varekko consulate. Diplomatic staff were seen boarding armored vehicles under military escort late Wednesday evening, according to local witnesses. The consulate will maintain a minimal presence “to support any remaining nationals,” the Krauanagazan State Department said in a short press release.
The move follows a day of heated accusations from Zuhlgani state media, which broadcast images of alleged Krauanagazan weapons recovered near bombing sites— claims the Krauanagaz Federation has firmly rejected as “fabricated provocations.” The consular withdrawal signals a sharp deterioration in regional diplomatic confidence.
Varekko remains on full lockdown, with armored personnel carriers stationed at key intersections, checkpoints erected across transit routes, and rolling blackouts reported in northern districts. Security drones and low-flying surveillance aircraft have been seen overhead, and social media access in several areas has been throttled or suspended. Despite the curfews, residents report sporadic clashes, the distant crack of gunfire, and police raids in neighborhoods known for pro-autonomy sentiment.
Shortly after declaring the end of martial law, Supreme Premier Titus Melderall surrendered his emergency powers to make way for the people’s free elections. Support for the government has never been higher as a recent polling shows support for the national government up 23%. Celebrations and fireworks have been set off in cities to celebrate the occasion, Long live the Free People of Tigaria!
Escalation in Okhoa: Varekko in Lockdown, Lethal Force Authorized, Detainees Missing
Varekko, Okhoa— he regional capital of Varekko is under a sweeping security lockdown as tensions boil over following multiple explosions, rising civil unrest, and the sudden authorization of lethal force by the Okhoa Regional Council.
The Council announced late Wednesday that security forces may use deadly force against unauthorized gatherings in lockdown zones. The move follows two explosions earlier in the day — one targeting a pro-autonomy march in the city’s financial district, and a second, hours later, outside the National Administration Center during a general council session. Thirty-four people have been injured, three of them critically, according to the Varekko Regional Medical Center.
“Wednesday’s events mark a turning point,” said Nessa Karántal, a regional security analyst based in Ka’atria. “The government is now treating the unrest as an existential threat rather than a policing issue.”
Collapse is the name being given by Visrodin citizens within the Kingdom led by Interim-Chairman Yoan Tanev to the great recent advance and territorial consolidation the SRA has achieved this last week.
With compromised supply routes, lack of resources and famishing conditions for the general population of the isolated provinces, forces of the Visrodin Army have found themselves in a very tough situation. Their defenses have been completely unsuccessful, as many soldiers have surrendered to the mechanized republican forces, who managed to advance in lightning speed through the flat coastal areas of the southeastern mainland.
Some generals of the Kingdom decided to cut the losses, and ordered several brigades worth of soldiers to embark on a limited number of ships to flee from the collapsing southern front, being relocated to the northern front, which is effectively where the heart of the Kingdom is.
The SRA has raised its banners over the cities of Petliya, Zdravets, Hramovo, Zlatnitsa, Monastirko, Duloets, Kardamovo… effectively most of the southeast of the country. They have only faced stiff resistance in Horizontovo, Ikonovo and Yavorika, mainly due to challenging geography. It is estimated that the SRA now controls almost around 70.000 km^2 of the country, while the Kingdom controls around 30.000 km^2. The Knyaz’s revolt also is estimated to occupy an area of 5000 km^2, mainly around the cities of Sarnitsa, Boyarovo and Medenik.
It is estimated that once the concentrated points of resistance by the Visrodin Army in the southeast finally surrender, the SRA will begin its final push to the north, in an effort to end the civil war as soon as possible.
Kraudukra Sea, Krauanagaz— The turquoise serenity of the Kraudukra Sea was violently shattered earlier this year when a powerful undersea earthquake triggered a tsunami that tore across the barrier islands of southern Krauanagaz. Among the worst hit was Kraudukra Resorts, the nation’s flagship coastal hospitality group, renowned for its eco-luxury resorts, marine parks, and cultural retreats.
Founded in 1991, Kraudukra Resorts built its identity around showcasing the natural beauty and cultural richness of the Kraudukra barrier chain, offering guests immersive experiences in biodiverse coastal sanctuaries, coral preservation parks, and Krautali heritage tours. For over three decades, the chain has been a symbol of sustainable tourism and economic vitality in the region.
The Daily Penguin - Kalaki
The Kalaki Emergency Management And Response Ministry (KEMARM) stated this morning it will provide humanitarian assistance, along with cleaning up the island. MizdikoHypo has pledged multiple free medium solar panels, and batteries to reinstate utilities throughout Krauanagaz’s barrier islands, and also donated ₰50 million to rebuild homes on the islands.
Roiwek Times | San Marsico San Marsico Gives Assistance - The People’s Army Crops of Engineers were dispatched to Krauanagaz following the tsunami, alongside multiple troops of the Scouting Association of San Marsico to “rebuild what was lost, and to make the region safe for residents.”
The Izaakian Foreign Office rejects claims that it is supplying weapons to opposition groups in Okhoa, with a spokesperson saying “It’s not like we’d label our illegally smuggled weapons with ‘Best Wishes, lots of love from Izaakia.’, it’s a ridiculous accusation”.
BREAKING– For the fifth time in the last three weeks, Zuhlgani reconnaissance drones breached Krauanagaz’s northern airspace, triggering emergency radar scrambles and a formal protest at the World Forum. According to a statement from Krauanagaz’s Defense Department, the 7th Artillery Division has deployed mobile radar units along the former DMZ buffer zone with Mitallduk, with anti-drone systems placed on high alert.
Krauanagazan WF Ambassador, Ryalla T’igarzi, denounced the incursions as “a deliberate provocation amid ongoing regional tensions.” Zuhlgan claims they are conducting “routine border surveillance,” and have accused Krauanagaz of “militarizing the DMZ.”
The breaches coincide with rising troop movements near Mitallduk’s disputed gas fields in the north and increasing militia activity across Mitallduk. One anonymous Krauanagazan defense official said that last month, a Zuhlgani drone was shot down over Krauanagazan waters, escalating tensions between the nations. The same official cautioned, “This is about testing defenses, not border security.”
Chief Of Air Operations in Krauanagaz, High General Erik Kolev, ERAF, has confirmed that, alongside Krauanagaz’s 7th Artillery Division, the Emeraldian Army in Krauanagaz has deployed the 80th “Ate-Oh” Air Defense Squadron of the ERAF, which will work alongside the Krauanagazan 7th Artillery Division’s Mobile Radar Units with their EMAA-04B/C “Stryker” Anti-Aerial Vehicles (B Variant being armed with two 30mm Vulture Chain Guns, while the C Variant is armed with 12 Surface-to-Air Missiles).
Alongside that, High General Kolev also stated that the Starhawk Expeditionary Forces 73rd “Denseva” Space Squadron, armed with the EMR-19 “Watcher III” General Purpose Radar Vehicles, will also be deployed alongside the 80th.

Prime Minister Walton has re-appointed Keira Pearson as Deputy Prime Minister. The Prime Minister stated that her role would be a short role but that it was time to make use of her knowledge and expertise once again in the short period ahead.
Krauanagaz Denounces Qaweritoyu’s ‘Unilateral and Unjustified’ Trade Shift, Warns of Repercussions
Alkantara, Krauanagaz— The Krauanagazan State Department issued a sharp rebuke today following Qaweritoyu’s announcement that it will terminate resource agreements with Krauanagaz and redirect supplies through Izaakia, in solidarity with President Elliott’s actions in Amberholde and Clearhill.
In a statement released moments ago, Secretary of State Darius Korin described Qaweritoyu’s decision as, “a unilateral and unjustified breach of trust and legal obligations,” accusing its government of “political grandstanding at the expense of regional stability.”
Krauanagaz has summoned Qaweritoyu’s chargé d’affaires in Yayyára for an “urgent consultation” and is reportedly preparing to impose export restrictions on key industrial minerals used in Qaweritoyu’s industrial sectors.
Krauanagazan Commerce Secretary Sondrá Belén warned that any disruption of mineral exports “will be met with proportional measures” and urged Qaweritoyu’s businesses to “re-examine their supply chains” before risking shortages of foodstuffs, copper, iron, and rare minerals.
Despite the rhetoric, Krauanagaz’s statement concludes with a nod to diplomacy. “We remain open to constructive dialogue under the frameworks of the World Forum and existing trade accords—provided Qaweritoyu returns to the negotiating table in good faith.”
This latest volley raises concerns that the diplomatic rift could deepen economic strains across Cordilia and Keyli.
The Izaakian Minister for Industry and Trade, Sir Ranulph Twickenham-Lourdes described Qaweritoyu’s ever deepening ties with the United States of Izaakia as “one of the most important, closest, and lasting partnerships in history”, going on to say that “Izaakia will always stand by it’s friends and allies, and the economic, industrial and agricultural resources of the nation will always be available to those who call us friends”.
The Keanu and Hurley Government appoint former Izaakian Chancellor of the Exchequer Charles Boulangerie as a Special Minister for Economic Development, the first time a foreign national has ever been given a ministerial role. Charles Boulangerie first rose to prominence following the Tech Bubble Crash of 2002 when he became chancellor after his predecessor resigned. He successfully managed the crisis and served as the Izaakian Chancellor for 15 years under 3 Prime Ministers, reforming the Izaakian economy into an economic and industrial powerhouse.
In 2017 he was reshuffled into the Foreign Office where he precipitated the rise of a promising young diplomat named Stella Blanc, who would eventually become the Ambassador to Besern and later President of the USI.
In 2020 he defected to Blancs liberals after 18 years as a senior Conservative Minister following his opposition to the Le Rogue governments attempt to overturn Parliament with a private military force. The move provided the young and inexperienced Dr Stella Blanc with a significant boost, leading her to the Premiership, and eventually forming the first Presidency.
Boulangerie served as Chancellor in the Blanc Presidency and played a major role in the rapid development of the Brodlancian and Montacian economies, before resigning in 2023 over the war with N&GB which he saw as diplomatically and economically irresponsible.
Following the Presidents and cabinets assassination months later, he took over once again as chancellor in the interim government of national unity, helping to stabilise markets and boost confidence in the Izaakian economy.
Widely seen as one of the most formidable and reputable statesmen and economists in modern history, the Keanuan Government is hoping he can transform the fortunes of Keanu and Hurley, capitalising on the recent influx of revenue from Oil, Gas, the Rugby World Cup and the tech giant GAIA (Owner of FarmBooks & FarmTech).
Qaweritoyu
Deputy Prime Minister Pearson has revealed for the first time that the reason her role as Deputy Prime Minister has been a bit hit and miss is because she was diagnosed late in 2024 with PTSD brought on from the stress of the role of Deputy Prime Minister. She stated, ‘The Prime Minister’s been very kind to me, actually, and very patient, he’s been completely aware of my struggles all this time and he’s been trying to ensure I am not too overwhelmed at any one time.’
Reacting to this revelation, the Prime Minister said, ‘Yes, I have been aware for some time, however, I have had some training in the past in spotting body language and in mental health care and so I had a quiet chat with the Deputy Prime Minister and recommended that she take some time away from the noise of Cabinet to regulate. The Deputy Prime Minister is a very intelligent and talented, young politician and the position will always be here for her, under my administration, anyway, when she’s up to it.’
