BREAKING— The fragile two-week ceasefire in Mitallduk has been shattered today by a series of unexpected and intense attacks on crucial Mitallduk Provisional Government infrastructure. Dozens of top Mitalldukish political and military officials are missing and feared dead.

Following intense skirmishes between Krauanagazan, Emeraldian, and Zuhlgani forces last week and into the weekend. The fighting appears to have spread to key strategic locations, including border towns and critical infrastructure. According to sources inside the intelligence community, both TPA and Purity Vanguard militants carried out the attacks.

The coordinated strikes targeted the Mitallduk Provisional Government’s central command centers, communication hubs, and supply depots, crippling its ability to respond effectively. Witnesses reported seeing explosions and hearing gunfire near the city of Med Karazh, which has served as Mitallduk’s capital since the fall of Ta’ana on July 4, as well as in several provincial cities.

Emergency meetings are reportedly underway in Krauanagaz, Emerald, and Zuhlgan as concerns mount that the conflict could escalate further. The attack on the Mitallduk Provisional Government marks a significant escalation in the ongoing crisis ending the ceasefire more than 5 days early, instilling fears that the situation could spiral into a full-scale regional war in Southern Cordilia.

International organizations and governments are urgently calling for renewed diplomatic efforts to prevent the region from descending into chaos. However, with the situation rapidly deteriorating, the prospects for peace are becoming increasingly bleak.

World Forum: ‘Plausible’ Emeraldian Forces Responsible for July Assassination Attempt on Ibinete IV in Zuhlgan

UPDATE— World Forum investigators in Zuhlgan have released a preliminary report indicating that it is “plausible” that Emeraldian forces were responsible for the July 27 assassination attempt on the Arkava. The investigation, which has been ongoing since the incident, has uncovered evidence that suggests Emeraldian involvement, though officials caution that the findings are not yet conclusive.

The attempted assassination occurred as the Arkava and his delegation were returning from failed negotiations in Grovne, leading to heightened tensions between Zuhlgan and the United Kingdoms of Emerald and Denver (UKED). According to sources close to the investigation, the World Forum team has been examining intelligence reports, intercepted communications, and forensic evidence from the scene of the attack.

NAGB [@Nicholas] Situation Updates:

Because I guess after the Zhulgan[@Kobegr01]-Akarina intervention our levels of preparedness have been increased, as per the CSD’s calling for “Nasphilitae adapting a more active approach in international affairs”.

Operational Events:

→ First off, yesterdays Grand Duke and Head of State address from Dawson Ernst calling this a “Collective and civilisationary duty” signifies that this is an effort which Nasphilitae as a whole will undertake alone if no other Crabry countries or the international community do not join.
→ AID’s Department Ten in conjunction with the Royal Armed Forces RRF (Rapid Reaction Forces) have began a mission of transporting NAGB asylum seekers into Nasphilitae.
→ AID’s Department Eight’s KRYPTOS-III in a temporary collaboration with PrototAutomaton and NAPA-OS-XX sysadmins and netadmins have created a mirrored website of Wikileaksinfo. This mirror has been made available over I2P protocol to NAGB citizens.
→ The Head of Government Syd G Patton has issued “Specific, more severe sanctions against the NAGB government, while minimising negative effects on its’ citizens.” This lex specialis was approved by the High Court for International Law and the Supreme Court within a day.
→ Seemingly unrelated in the eyes of…lesser minds; All clergy operating and in relation to Nasphilitae has ceased operations in NAGB, including their scholarship foundations. However, these have been made available to the opposition.
→ Finally, AID’s Department Nine… has been issued by the AID Directorate to train all NAGB asylum seekers into creating an “Opposition in Exile” operatives. It has also began preparations for…steganographic digital attacks against the NGBSS… This is likely where AID9 actually has an upper hand if I recall the things they did back in the 70s and 80s.

Statements:

→ High Ambassador Turner, one of our 3 High Ambassadors, of Nasphilitae to Austra has supported Nasphilitae’s efforts… First it was a cryptic manner of inflicting severe sanctions on Akarina because of fears of a Boreal Empire and now this. Great.
→ Syd G Patton had stated that: “NAGB is the key of stability, integrity and progress in Crabry. However, Nasphilitae believes that such progress is severely halted if the government does not adapt the core liberal principle of holding governments responsible.” This is nothing new it’s been the public opinion since forever.
→ Head of State and Grand Duke Dawson Ernst has a more nuanced statement; “It is in the interests of the collective Nasphilitae, other Crabry countries and the international community that the NAGB government is minimally informed wherein whichever type of government they choose to have is held responsible to its’ citizens in providing transparency and progress.”
→ Additionally; he had stated that: "Due to specifically hard power imbalance between the NAGB and Nasphilitae, this operation will take a long time." However, he believes that sharp and soft power projection of Nasphilitae will eventually suffice enough for…what seems to be an operation of a colour revolution.

Lumen yapping + Pings

I don’t really have a comment since all of these are correct. The warning of this taking a long time should be heeded seriously, though I do support that we are willing to uptake this task. Seemingly alone though other Crabry [ @Kliegme, @Anjo, @Pronoun] countries and the international community [@PNN] have been called to support a similar effort.
Actually, 1 thing, why do our High Ambassadors comment on domestic events? Does the Diplomatic Corpus also entail “collective duty”? I guess so

In response to the death of the shot protester in Bristol earlier today, a protest in Bristol turned into a riot as rioters threw bricks and petrol bombs and fired fireworks at police. A police station was set ablaze by petrol bombs and a bus and a two police vans are also set on fire. Many police officers have been injured. Police respond to the riots with rubber bullets, tear gas and watercanons.

Unlike most of the protests so far, protestors in Bristol openly expressed opposition to the Socialist Nationalist Party (the ruling party of Nicholas and Great Britain) whereas in most other protests so far, protesters have mostly said that they’re loyal to the country and support the party.

With the current situation in NAGB, it is expected that Kliegme will wait and see which way the wind will blow, especially as Kliegme’s NAGB Policy is heavily based on the Non-Aggression Pact signed with NAGB.

Pointing out mistakes in NAACN (number 500):

Available here. Please go to the third portion of this report and read the first bolded line because NAACN didn’t mention this.

→ The first portion regarding Joint Service was almost complete but it didn’t mention that the update included an 8-bullet point list summary of ongoing domestic and international events for the past 6 months.

Second portion redundancy (NAPA-OS-XX and CPU import).

→ It points out in the section portion when talking about NAPA-OS-XX’s demand for CPU power. This is redundant to mention because it’s obvious.
→ Yes. An operating system whose entire concept is to be modular based on architecture of the device it’s ran on, with no swapping support between memories, is going to be only CPU intensive. Because it’s not designed around the 1970s mainframe OS paradigm like KRYPTOS-III.

→ Related to the third portion, it was designed with immunity to probing in mind, while KRYPTOS-III (much like the predecessor) was designed with probing capabilities being vital. Which is how AID Unit Nine had backdoors to all PII’s.
→ When combined, it is very simple to conduct an operation such as the one mentioned in the third portion when talking about NAGB.

Third portion information (NAGB-related):

@Nicholas
→ Despite calling it a “Cold conflict”, it isn’t. One major information missing which needs to be publicly addressed is that the military of Nasphilitae is patrolling international waters. For the first time since the Civil War. Other countries need to be informed about this, since we use the mercantile ensign as the military one, which was the flag used during our Dominion period.
→ The patrol managed to identify Romordian shipping lines, which Nasphilitae informed the NAGB government about. Since the official policy is that NAGB is a sovereign territory and since Nasphilitae was found on weirdly political principles, it will not support Romordian terrorists.
→ This should weaken the propaganda of the NAGB government that its’ opposition is against NAGB itself and working merely in favour of foreign interests.

→ As mentioned earlier, when combined it is easy to…prone-check other countrys top level domains for vulnerabilities. This was done and the AID informed NGBSS of an open port on I2P topography used for communication among Romordian separatist groups.
→ It reserved, as with the above patrol, information relating to NAGBs other vulnerabilities not used by Romordians for itself.
—> I wouldn’t call this a cold conflict, I’d call it the expected relations which these two countries would have given the circumstances at present and historical backgrounds.

Election Nears: Parties Gear Up for Final Stretch

With the national election just two months away, political parties across the country are ramping up their preparations as they enter the final stretch of their campaigns. The upcoming election is expected to be one of the most hotly contested in recent memory, with key issues like economic stability, healthcare, climate action, and national security dominating the discourse.

Major Parties: Finalizing Campaign Strategies

The ruling coalition, the Popular Patriotic Alliance, is looking to retain control of the Assembly but faces a growing challenge from the opposition Alliance for Democracy and Freedom. Their platform focuses on national security and legislation for the permanent ban on same-sex marriage and abortion but also focuses on climate action through investments in renewable resources as a compromise for the Green Party to join their coalition and have a majority in the Assembly. Prime Minister Oliver Thorne has been touring the country, holding rallies and town halls to garner last-minute support.

Meanwhile, the Alliance for Democracy and Freedom, led by Elisa Hartmann, has taken a different approach, emphasizing the legalization of same-sex marriage and adoption with abortion being in the wraps to garner support. Polls suggest a tightening race, with some analysts predicting a hung parliament, which would force the ruling coalition to form a national unity government like it has been in the case of a hung parliament.

Debates and Media Coverage Intensify

As election day draws nearer, media coverage has intensified. Several debates between Thorne and Hartman are planned for September, with topics like immigration, education, and the economy expected to dominate the agenda. Analysts believe these debates could be pivotal in swaying undecided voters.

The election also marks a significant increase in the use of social media for campaign outreach. Political parties pour resources into digital platforms, using targeted ads and viral campaigns to reach a younger, tech-savvy demographic. This strategy has become a crucial element of modern electioneering, particularly for the Liberal Alliance and the Alliance for Democracy, who appeal strongly to younger voters.

Challenges and Uncertainties Ahead

Despite the high stakes, this election season has not been without controversy. Concerns over potential foreign interference and disinformation campaigns have prompted both coalitions to call for stricter regulations on digital platforms. Additionally, voter turnout remains a concern, particularly among disenfranchised communities that have historically shown lower engagement in the political process, despite a high turnout of around 90-95% in the past 3 elections.

With the election date looming on October 24, political analysts predict an unpredictable race that could come down to the wire. Parties across the spectrum will be working tirelessly in the coming weeks to shore up support and ensure a strong showing at the polls.

As expected, riots and protests take place across Nicholas and Great Britain in a scale not seen since the riots against the short-lived democratic government and presence of the Izaakian military in early 2022 (OOC: I only came up with these riots recently which is why I never mentioned them at the time).

In Bristol, protestors attempted and failed to create a temporary autonomous zone in the area of Redcliffe.

In Nicholasgrad, protestors placed objects onto roads to block them and over a thousand protestors hunkered down in the University of Nicholasgrad’s main campus. Makeshift barricades have been put up around the building. Police have surrounded the building and have set a 10pm deadline for protesters to leave the campus or they will face arrest.

Meanwhile, counter-protests take place across the country with people expressing support for the police and government. However, many of these counter-protesters have been attacked by protesters.
