“RFM: Huawan Must Continue Economic Boom”

Royal Financial Minister Meng Mingli has emphasized the need to sustain Huawan’s economic boom to ensure inclusive and sustainable growth across the country.
Addressing the closing ceremony of a two-day workshop on “Parliamentary Proceedings and Budget Process” in Hai Lan today, she quoted a Royal Lotus University paper highlighting Huawan’s unprecedented economic and population boom. Meng praised the current Royal government for averting a financial default and stabilizing the economy through prudent economic policies. She stressed that food inflation, the current account deficit, and pressure on the Huawanese Tiol have been substantially reduced. Meng urged the parliament not to “rest on their laurels” and to continue efforts to maintain global Huawanese prosperity.
Meng underscored the importance of maintaining the economic momentum, stating that “We are in a critical period of growth, and it is imperative that we implement policies that will not only sustain this boom but also ensure that its benefits reach all segments of society.” She highlighted the need for continued investments in infrastructure, education, and technology to support long-term economic development.
The workshop, attended by key parliamentarians, economic experts, and business leaders, focused on strategies to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of parliamentary proceedings and the budget process. Discussions centered around improving fiscal management, promoting transparency, and ensuring that budget allocations align with the country’s development priorities.
Government Tightens Grip on Online Gambling

The Huawanese Royal Parliament has passed a law imposing stricter regulations on online gambling, amidst growing concerns about its potential dangers for young people. Studies indicate that young adults are more susceptible to developing gambling addictions compared to older demographics, a risk exacerbated by the easy accessibility of online gambling platforms.
An alarming report revealed that over 10% of illegal online slot gamblers were under the age of 15, with a rising number of gambling addiction cases in Huawan. The new policy restricts online gambling deposits for individuals aged 18 to 24 to a maximum of $220 per month and increases age verification requirements.
Reactions within the gambling industry have been mixed. Some operators fear the limits might negatively impact their revenue, while others acknowledge the importance of responsible gambling practices. Industry leaders also emphasize the need for stricter age verification protocols to ensure that only legal-age individuals access these platforms.
Additionally, Huawan has launched a task force to crack down on illegal gambling sites, aiming to block their servers immediately. An addendum to the law may also increase penalties for officials caught accepting bribes related to online gambling, with some advocating for the death penalty for corrupt officials.
