The Foreign Minister announced today the plan for Romordians in Eflad.
“Until today, approximately 200 thousand Romordians have entered Eflad. Of those, 40 thousand have submitted an asylum request. 4 thousand of those have been granted. Per contract woth Kliegme, Eflad will bring 160 thousand Romordians back beginning from the new year. All those who have submitted an asylum request, so 36 thousand, will be able to stay in Eflad until their request is processed. The 4 thousand with granted asylum will be able to proceed with an settlement programme in due time.
We are happy to have been able to help many Romordians and will assist those in traveling to their new home!”

Keanu and Hurley launch a search off the remote West Coast of the Hurley islands after receiving a distress call from the yacht of the former Empress of Izaakia Astrid, The Gloria Regali. The distress call said they’d lost contact with a helicopter carrying the Empress and her Husband Hugo Heinriksen as a storm front moved in.

While the Government has agreed to allow most of the refugees to return to Kliegme, the favourable image of Eflad has completely collapsed amongst the Kliegmean population, as they (in the Kliegmean PoV,) promised more Romordians to stay.
Nonetheless, the Government has announced that the plan to settle the initial 100K vetted Refugees in the South Eastern Federal District will be implemented without delay, with the additional 100K settled in camps to wait until a plan for them is made.
Kliegme has also announced that it will be cooperating with international partners to provide help to the refugees, and will be accepting requests from foreign nations to send refugees to them if they wish to help them in their own accords.

In a joint statement from the Enário te Temivenzhir, Temiprizhirven te ti Krauanaet, and Zhirveniayya Temipre te Kallzhir Uvenital, the Krauanagaz Federation has announced that it will accept up to 45,800 Romordian refugees, with the possibility of expanding the program should the resources become available to accommodate more refugee relocations in the Federation.

The Valkyrian Home Ministry has announced that 200,000 Romordians and Jakubians have been granted asylum, the maximum allowed by the Amended Immigration Regulatory Act 2023 (AIRA 23). There are no reported plans by the Valkyrian government to increase the cap.

The search effort for the helicopter of Empress Astrid hampered by Cyclone Tina. Her yacht the Gloria Regali has docked in The Port of Hurley, and the captain has shared all information with the local authorities.
Cyclone Tina is expected to clear this afternoon, and the Gloria Regali will participate in the search effort with its advanced search and rescue facilities and submarine.

The Rugby World Cup winning fly-half Zak Johnson becomes the first person in history to win both the Rugby World Cup and the Izaakian Grid-Iron Super Cup after the Jorvik Raiders beat the Hopstown Brewers by 20 points to 16.

Montwælda Rombold announces he’s going to donate the $5 million he received in royalties for this years Xmas Number 1 to a number of charities including the Izaakian Veterans Association, Save Our Whales, The Orphans Institute, and the Izaakian Cancer Research Institute.
When asked about his generosity he said “I get my house for free, I get driven everywhere for free, heck I even get food for free, I don’t need any more money, best to give it to someone who does.”

A grenade was detonated in San Marco Metropolitan Police Department, killing two officers and wounding at least 26 last night. Investigating Police found a note, threatening another similar attack in the near future if Dante Matteo is not released. Prime Minister Francesca pledged to ‘wage war’ against the Mafias of Eria and took revenge for the deceased officers in a press conference today.

In the search for Former Izaakian Empress Astrid no wreckage or survivors have been found in a search of all islands in the Hurley Archipelago. The search and rescue effort now in its third day is focused on searching the ocean for signs of wreckage and an escape raft.

Keanu and Hurley Police say they’ve recovered the black box from the helicopter of Astrid Iceborn, however no bodies were found on board the helicopter and the lift raft was no onboard. The flight manifest had Astrid Iceborn, Hugo Heinriksen, their 2 NMPD body guards and the pilot on board. The search is now focused on the open ocean area south of Hurley, where strong ocean currents will be transporting any life raft southwards.
Experts from Izaakian Aeronautics flown into Hurley so they can recover date from the black box, and examine the wreckage of the IA Hawk Helicopter.

Experts from Izaakian Aeronautics have surmised from diving the wreck of the helicopter, and from the black box data that the IA Hawk helicopter was struck on the fuel tank by lightning from the incoming storm. The electrical surge fried the navigation and communication systems… The fuel tank then combusted and caused the crash of the helicopter.

The Efladian Government has announced that they are thinking about a ban on private fireworks/-crackers. Reasons cited are high pollution, trauma for children and people suffering from PTSD, pets and wildlife. The ban would reportedly allow professional fireworks to be conducted by expert companies.

Former Prime Minister Edward Russell has said he would only run for Parliament again if Mister Speaker Philip Horn was sacked.
Mister Speaker Philip Horn has stated that if Edward Russell was Prime Minister again, he would want to rule as a Dictator and that the Prime Minister, whoever that is, can never do that. He has also stated, for the avoidance of doubt, that he regularly asks for feedback, listens to feedback and takes it onboard.
