Erian Parliament voted down the motion to accede into the CMEC 107 to 103. “This result is closer than the last time. We are hopeful that the next election would finally bring us into CMEC,” said the Leader of the Opposition, Giovanni Arrighi.

The prime minister has, for the first time, commented on the crisis:
Reporter: “Mrs. Prime Minister, you have been stern by not commenting on this crisis, now after it has all cooled down a bit, do you have anything to say.”
PM Tirng: “Well, I have been reluctant to discuss the matter, as I am more of a pragmatic person and have talked with both Dr. Dref and Mr. Kuhn about it. The cabinet has acknowledged the problem and we will tackle it on our next cabinet trimester meeting (org.: Trimestertreffen) on 02. of September.”
The government meets every four months to discuss current and future agenda, as well as to solve any issues between the parties.

Tensions between city-states have become visibly palpable as the TCG has introduced documentation allowing for the dissolution of several businesses including Terra Firma Agronomic in the wake of corporate crime. Vermillion city has taken a surprisingly harsh stance against the TCG when they are normally content to follow Point Rain’s initiative, while the other heads are largely cautious of the Tcg’s intentions.

President Rombold was asked about whether it was time to apologise to the native Keya’Iluti people and recognise their rights to the land. He said “No, I don’t think it is right for me to apologise, I can only express regret for our nations passed actions including wars and forced Izaakianisation of the native people. However, that is now in the past, and the people behind those actions are long dead, all I can do is promise a better present and future. Regarding recognising any Keya’Iluti rights to land, I think as a migratory species to say that any peoples are truly native to an area and therefore have a gods given right to an area is just naive and misleading. They have fairly significant reserves where they can run their tribal matters semi-autonomously however there’s certainly no moral or just reason to surrender more land to these reserves. “

Qaweritoyu: Mister Speaker Philip Horn has announced that the current Parliament will be the final one to sit in their current seats as the electoral map is being revised by the Speaker and Deputy Speakers at the moment. The Speaker said that whilst talks are ongoing, the number of Seats is set to be majorly reduced in compliance with new electoral rules.

Qaweritoyu: Rumours are circulating that the Prime Minister is about to appoint a string of new Deputies before leaving office. Prime Minister Garcia has reminded people that the Government thinks reasonably and logically and that they will have to trust them.
Deputy Prime Minister Walton has said his role as an Advisor to former Prime Minister Joanna Barrett undid a lot of the internal hate he had. Speaking at a separate event, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that representation ‘enriches us all’. At another separate event, the Deputy Prime Minister stated that he never thought he was good enough to be Advisor, it just never entered his head.
President Elliott has announced he is in a relationship with Kaya Delacruz, former Advisor to the Prime Minister and former Prime Minister Gordon Watts.
Amidst rumours that Walton will step down as Prime Minister early and call an early General Election, Mister Speaker Philip Horn has announced that he has not been made aware of any plans for an early General Election.

Efladian Ministry for Infrastructure has announced that Eflad would happily welcome Taiga Technology in Eflad and offered a site near Cræfoi. Eflad and Izaakia have cooperated before and this move is seen as an attempt to strengthen that partnership.
Eflad has formally asked Nicholas and Great Britain for clarification on the military troop movements into Romordia. This subject will be discussed on the next trimester meeting tomorrow.

Protests break out in Kamütt Bay, Antarcha over release of “defeatist” book.
Book-lovers in Antarcha have gotten a little heated over the release of a book titled “Future?” By Dr. Anise Lakuwit, professor of nihilism at the University of Antarcha. In the book, Dr. Lakuwit goes over the “impossible” predicament of climate change, violent crime, and the inevitable demise of the universe, coming to the controversial conclusion that “trying to fight the problems in life is futile, there is no point to it.”
Several blocks around libraries and bookstores in Kamütt Bay have been swarmed with protestors fist-fighting each other and arguing over the conclusion of the book. Law enforcement that have been dispatched to placate the fiasco have reportedly gotten caught up in the protest themselves.

The state government of Atlantis has announced an own bid for hosting a product development site and a technology centre for Taiga Technology, likely in the less populated and therefore more developable Western parts of the state of Atlantis. It is expected, the Gianlucian ministry of economy supports the bid, wanting to make sure, the new facilities will become the main hub for Taiga Technologies in North Cordilia and the Rainbow Islands.
