“We will never defeat the problems we have, especially not those we continue to create ourselves and seem to be too unwilling to give up, e.g. the pollution of Pacifica, violence, wars, nuclear weapons. However, while it might be futile, I believe it’s our moral duty to fight against the injustices and try to find solutions for our problems anyway. Maybe we are the only ones implementing possible solutions, which will make the efforts seem to render useless, but at least we can confidently say, we tried to make the world the best place possible.”
Zweitland Prison was the 28th prison to close today in this decade after a steadily falling population of prisoners in Besern. Furthermore, the number of paroles have been set to increase with the rehabilitation programmes initiated by the previous two governments.
This includes mandatory re-education, including moral and social syllabuses (including the teaching of the Constitution, how is it used and its purpose), as well as strict behaviour control and every rehabilitant being issued a personal journal to write their thoughts into. Guards have also been taught to be kind and supportive where they can, to instill trust and dignity as being important in rehabilitants’ lives, and to show their concern to them to encourage their re-learning. National initiatives like the Besernian Yellow Ribbon Movement have also played a part, encouraging companies to open up to ex-offenders.

He was a relatively normal man, his parents told news sources. “He did have an obsession with the band Embers and Ash, and claimed all other groups to be inferior. But he didn’t have a violent bone in his body. We’re surprised, for sure.”
The trial is to be held next week. If found guilty, Tatuafu could find himself spending life in prison.

The USI annouces it will not militarily intervene in Romordia, as access points to the nation which would be required to sustain an expeditionary force are no longer available and a repeat of a coastal invasion is no longer feasible following defensive upgrades. This has widely been interpreted as a dig at kliegme and the CE in particular. However, the USI will continue to air drop military supplies into Romordia to aid their cause.
The Spokesman for the Strelna states that “Kliegme’s Crabry Policy is centered around adhering the content of the Non-Aggression Pacts signed with the nations of Crabry in the 1960s to promote mutual cooperation.” This is regarded as a diplomatic rhetoric on Kliegme’s neutrality towards the plight of the Romordians, as Kliegme and Nicholas and Britain signed a Non-Aggression Pact in 1961.
In the same statement however, Kliegme has announced that while it has successfully withdrawn the Sallodesian Garrison in Romordia + local cooperation, it will maintain humanitarian aid routes as long as necessary to provide Romordians with much-needed humanitarian supply.
