This is Eli Mason reporting live for LFN from outside the Lotus courthouse in Bitanga. We are in the middle of a tense situation here, as an emergency recess has been called in the trial of former Director of National Intelligence, Iker Barran. A bomb threat was called into the courthouse, and authorities are considering it to be a “very credible” threat.
Moments ago as Federation Police were preparing to give the all-clear for entry to the courthouse, automatic gunfire broke out in front of the courthouse. Authorities report that the situation is active and urge citizens to avoid downtown Bitanga. The Bitanga Emergency Medical Service reports there are several injuries en route to the Downtown Hospital. There are unconfirmed reports coming in from sources within the Federation Police and Capitol District High Court that the former DNI Iker Barran is missing. It is unclear whether this is an escape attempt or something else.

The Ryccian government has been informed that Her Imperial Majesty, Empress Relia of Ryccia, has chosen her firstborn, Prince Paul, as her nominee for the position of Crown Prince. A third round of tests of the TW-1 in Weisserstein has wielded good results, showing the tanks combat capabilities. The Weissersteiner government has stated that the tank would be put into production possibly as early as late August

Drama Brewing in FiHami’s Parliament: Politician Jerry Nord (Antarchi Conservative Coalition) was caught cheating on his wife, Politician Candice Heart-Nord (Antarchi Conservative Coalition), with Tuopeno Hastofi (Finixi Forward Party). His husband, Jason Hastofi (Finixi Conservative Coalition), didn’t seem to care as he was busy cheating on his husband with Candice Nord, who was caught cheating on her own husband with the brother of the infamous Texeteti’ Kokostali, named Totu’amu Kokostali (Matriarchy Fundamentalists/Tribe of Truth). Totu’amu had also been caught dealing ilicit substances to underage secondary school children (ages 8-13) under direction of the mysterious leader of “the tribe of truth”.
Party leaders of the Antarchi Conservative Coalition are demanding all involved parties retire from politics permanently. Most of the Finixi people on FiHami don’t care for the story but want Totu’amu thrown in jail.
A coalition of anti-monarchy MPs and Senators from various parties are opposing the nomination of the Crown Prince, demanding a return to a republican system. The President of the Senate was forced to suspend the session after Senators affiliated to this alliance kept shouting and interrupting speakers in favor of the motion, obstructing the debate by repeatedly raising points of order, refusing to stop speaking after their turns had ended, and ignoring the President’ s orders to either cease their violations of procedure or be forced to vacate the chamber. 27 Senators were forced out by security with great difficulty, as they resisted their escorts and their allies kept blocking the exits to the chamber and had to be forcefully removed by reinforcements. The President has threatened to authorize the use of riot police in the next session if the anti-monarchy bloc in the Senate repeated their actions. Parliament did not see the chaos the Senate had experienced, but sources believe antics such as those the Senate experienced could occur soon in Parliament. A fear held by some analysts is that these MPs will obstruct procedures in Parliament by repeatedly calling for no-confidence motions on each cabinet member separately or put forward vexatious motions to impeach random members of the judiciary to waste time.
The Cosmos-ISA Tyr mission enters its final phase after almost 12 months. Over the next 24 hours the two surviving Tyr launch modules will be released from the InterStella Rocket payload and then enter orbit. 12 hours apart the sample pod will separate from the launch modules and begin de-orbit. The sample pods will enter the atmosphere, protected by their heat shields and then in the lower atmosphere decelerate using parachutes. The planned landing site is in the remote north Keylian Sea.
Separately the Interstellar Rocket ship will make its landing at IAF Montacia Bay, using its boosters to decelerate. This is done separately to the payload as it is considered a much higher risk manoeuvre with potential for catastrophic destruction of the samples that have resulted from a multi-billion shark tooth unmanned mission to Tyr.
