A compromise has been made between the Forward Coalition and the People’s Coalition on a renewed Industrial Investment Bill. The Green Party objected to the compromise, and its members within the College unanimously voted against the bill.
Counting in the Valoran referendums has almost concluded. Voters were given three choices: a constitutional monarchy under the constitutionalist pretender to the throne, Sophia of the House of Vermillion; a return to autocracy under the autocrats’ choice, Leonidas of the House of Vermillion; or the abolition of the monarchy in favor of a republic. The option that prevailed in an approval voting system along with a majority would be victorious outright. If no option received 50+% of the votes, a second round would be held between the top two choices. To the surprise of many, it seems that the Valoran monarchy shall be preserved, as 51.03% of voters having chosen the first option compared to 50.04% for a republic and 14.72% for a return to autocracy. Analysts have attributed the constitutionalists’ victory to three main factors: the fact that some Valoran voters approved of either a republic or a constitutional monarchy with dramatically reduced powers that acted as a swing constituency in their favor, the fear that a republic would be a cover for Valoran nationalists to enact revenge against the Ryccian minority, and the fact that the autocrats, aware that a republic could be declared, urged their supporters to also approve of a constitutional monarchy despite their grudges against the constitutionalists. The vote was split among ethnic and regional lines, with the Valoran-dominated west voting overwhelmingly against the monarchy. In contrast, the eastern regions, where a majority of the Ryccian ethnic minority live, voted for the monarchy by wide margins. Only the region of Ruotsi defied national trends as the ethnic Valoran and Ryccian communities maintain a far more amiable relationship compared to the rest of the country, with both Valorans and Ryccians in the region voting for a constitutional monarchy and resoundingly rejecting both a republic and a return to absolutism. The Ryccian government has accepted the preliminary results, urging Izaakia to do the same as the backers of the republican factions in the Grovne Accords.

Following a succesful vote in the National Council, the Regan Development Program has come into power. The USSU has warned against Nicholas and Great Britain conducting further encroachments on Romordia territory. "We need to recognize that every country has a right to its sovereignty, and if Romordia was to refuse this offer, Nicholas and Great Britain will most certainly continue their aggression. My country was once under the heel of an oppressive empire, but we fought our way out.
We do not wish to see the same oppression brought unto us on other nations. I call on the international community to do what is right and stand by all self-declared sovereign nations from imperialist powers." Generel Secretary Hervey Fillip stated in a press conference today.
This comes after the Worker’s Party, the main coalition of the USSU has announced a program to bring about revolutionary and democratic socialism to other countries, which is a stark contrast to earlier leaders of the USSU, who focused on domestic issues. With the rise of the USSU and its military capabilities, many are wondering if Urkennalaid will get into conflict amongst the larger capitalist countries.

Matei was a fascist candidate in the 2021 Dacian Presidential Elections, that was put under arrest soon after the election ended due to suspicions of corruption and tax fraud.
However, he was taken out of jail earlier today and was placed under house arrest, after the allegations against him fell short of proof. Along with this, corners of the government called the arrest 'undemocratic" and said it broke the premise of “innocent until proven guilty” present in Dacian law.
It is still unlikely that the government will allow him to run in the next election, due to fears of inspiring radicalism and dividing the country politically.
