Yeah, depending on your time zone.
Fixed.
Are you on Discord, and if not, could you sign up? It will be difficultāif not impossibleāto fully discharge the office of Chair without Discord access, as part of your role is managing legislator masking.
@Welly Yes, I donāt have discord and Iāll canāt. But, the deputy chair of assembly can help me on this task of moderation on discord. Source : South-Pacific wiki
The Chair does not do much discord moderation, the only moderation they do is to step in to remind people to stay on topic in the legislator channel, which isnāt frequently a problem. Their primary responsibility, and one that far more frequent and important, is to give and remove the legislator role in discord, and ping legislators when necessary.
I donāt think itās appropriate as a Chair to be unable to discharge the full duties yourself. If you are interested in being Chair, I would encourage you to seek a deputy Chair position, assuming the Chair is fine with having someone without discord, or seek a position in another part of the government.
Yes but anyways, I canāt seek deputy Chair because I donāt know if Iām not elected Iāll get in by @KrisKringle. Even if I canāt go on discord, the most important is here. @Of_the_Ages
That doesnāt make discord unimportant or irrelevant. Being on the forum does not make up for a lack of discord, when discord is required. The forum may be most important, but discord is still important, and for the Chair position, discord is also necessary in order to be able to discharge the full duties of office.
If you want to me to resign, Iāll donāt. More over, There is no rule in the elction for the Chair that said I need to have Discord.
I apologise for the delayed response but I have a major deadline at work on Jan. 26 that has me pulling consecutive all-nighters. In any event I would gladly accept renomination as Chair for another term.
Hello !
I move that we proceed to a vote on @lordnwahsā resolution.
I second
How we should do, we donāt have KrisKringle for few days (so we donāt have a Chair for this vote) ?
As a fun fact, if the Chair is absent, the Legislative Procedure Act provides that āin the event that the Chair does not perform these duties within a reasonable time frame, any legislator may create voting topics and record votes.ā § 2(6).
Iād say waiting one or two days is a reasonable timeframe, weāre not exactly in a rush to get this resolution passed.
There being a motion and a second, this measure will be brought to a vote 2026-01-25T17:00:00Z.
I move that we start the vote on @Erstavikās resolution.
Second.
There being a motion and a second, this measure will be brought to a vote as a competing resolution 2026-01-25T19:00:00Z.
These are now at vote:
