Number of desired plot: NPN 1
Name of plot: DOKAVIAN GRAND AMASSMENT (DOKAVIAN HORDE if too long)
Capital: Mok-Drapa, station (technically a ship)
Location of capital: In the exact center of the plot
Population: ~40 billion Dokavians, ~12 trillion “Tributaries”
Outline of History: The Dokavians are a nomadic species from outside of the sector, who were part of a large mass-migration. They used to use another dimension for their FTL travel, but somehow lost access to it during their last migration, around 200 BBT. Unable to continue their mass migrations, they set about conquering the native people and setting up a “temporary” state in order to more efficiently exist in their new state- the Dokavian Horde or the Grand Amassment. Before the Dokavian arrival, there were somewhere around 30 civilizations there, mostly pre-FTL, although 10 had achieved FTL and had limited colonies. All of those civilizations are now post FTL, and are “Tributaries” of the Dokavians, providing them with resources and being expanded throughout the region as fast as possible to provide more efficient resources to the Amassment.
The Dokavians do not live on planets- they live in their ships, always mobile. However, their subjects, whom they call “tributaries,” do and may. Tributaries do most of the economic work, in exchange for not being obliterated. Dokavians themselves are heavily engaged in things like piracy, sometimes directly, sometimes just hosting the pirates in their territory. This gives them an amazing relationship with the Hortek order. The Dokavian home economy is mostly manufacturing, especially since different groups have different shipbuilding traditions. Resources- extracted by tributaries- Are used to manufacture in giant ships that are essentially mobile dockyards. These mobile dockyards are where the Dossa tends to stay when there is no migration.
Outline of Major Species:
Dokavians: Dokavians, as a species, resemble birds in some ways, with a plume of feathers around their neck, bone-like bipedal legs, and feathers around their arms. In other regards, they are lizardlike, with tails that can regrow, claw-like hands, and scales over their face. It is thought that Dokavians were once able to fly, but sacrificed that for greater strength and dexterity. Dokavians range from 5-7 feet tall, and are strong, enough to overpower about 5 average human men. They also possess limited psionic powers, which means they have basic telepathy, capable of reading emotions, and can store memories long beyond what their brainpower should allow. Their leaders, especially Dossa, tend to have cybernetic enhancements to enhance their powers, and their memories are essentially eidetic. Dokavians tend to live for about 400 total years.
In addition, the most major tributary species are Humans, Zolve- a horned, grey-skinned species, and Dretsver, a subterranean, mole-like people.
