A1-0 Low Hanging Fruit

If they’re operating in a swarm, there absolutely is lol

Swarm tactics become unfeasible for anything larger than a Corvette. Calerostan swarmers are the size of modern fighter jets. The whole point is that even if you get a lock and shoot one down it means nothing. You still got a thousand more and your missile was probably more expensive than the swarmer drone. When you get to something the size of your “swarmers” every ship is a big target with a hefty price tag. To get a similar effect financialy you’d need a nation who’s scale is far outside of that of A1-0. Those swarmers are volume vise a order of magnitude larger than even most battleships in the sector. To take something out of calerost for reference i think the volume would be at least as much as a starbreaker if not more. It is a absurdly large ship, not a swarmer.

I see. I suppose I conceived them to be swarmers used by Battlemoons against Battlemoon-sized enemy vessels, though I foolishly forgot that they’re in pretty short supply in the Sector, lol. I’ll just remake them into normal ships then.

How large is a battle moon? And also, how many of them do you have?

Hundreds of kilometers, anywhere from 500 to like, 800 kilometers. There’s only 10 or 20 of them. Haven’t decided yet, but most likely the lower half of that.

Yeah I’d suggest being in the lower range with them, they carry significant potential for power creep.

Yeah, I know. At least its not like it doesn’t take decades or even a century to make one.

Btw, here’s a little more context for where the Droplets’ size came from.

I more or less based them on these images of a Battlemoon drawing in matter from a gas giant to start making them, which is why they were so big.

I haven’t figured out a timeline for building them, but decommissioning an Antechamber safely takes about 5 years

Construction of Battlemoons is automated (like the rest of the Confluence’s military industrial complex), but putting together a moon’s worth of mass and building all of the internal systems is definitely still a lot. Given their size and the resources required, Battlemoons can only be assembled in the industrial dysons of the Confluence, at least if you don’t want them to stay under construction for several centuries.

By the way, since the Confluence is basically what has occupied my plot for the most time out of any civilization that was in it, can I just write notable information about it in the Knowledge of Foreign Star Nations topic?

I had some ideas for some telescope-observable events that basically everyone in the Sector could use even if they never left their plot.

I mean, yeah. The topic is just for you to write down any knowlege other star nations that have never interacted with yours before might have. That’s also why there’s the time periods, so people with older star nations can make use of older information

Okay, thanks! Just wanted to make sure.

Sometimes, it feels like your nation is from a completely different setting than the rest of A1-0. I have no problem with stronger or more advanced nations (so almost everyone compared to me) but it is a bit of a problem when the Confluence feels essentially untouchable.

Yeah, I can understand that. I’ll be reducing some things from now on, to make it all more balanced.
