UDS for PM 2 - “It’s Time for Change”

Hello All Fellow Citizens and Residents of TSP,

My name is United Disney States and I am running for Prime Minister of the South Pacific.

Let’s start off with getting to know me. I have been playing the game for nearly five years now. August will be my five year anniversary. However it wasn’t until June 2024 when I came back from a hiatus that I started getting into government. I quickly became a citizen and legislator. I along with have been a Secretary of Culture and Minister of Integration where I started up recruitment for the region along with redoing the Citizenship Committee messages to citizen applications as my two notable successes during my time as the Minister of Integration.

Agenda Goal - Reformation

Let’s face it. TSP has been declining both population wise and activity wise for quite a while. Along with that my motto is “It’s Time for Change”. Showing that for TSP to thrive again. We need to adapt and reform in many various ways for activity and engagement to go up as a whole and that’s what I will do during my term.

Plans for Ministries This Term

After my previous run, in which I proposed 7 potential ministries I am changing it up and going in a different direction than my previous run in January. I am proposing 5 ministries: Defense, Integration, Foreign Affairs, On-Site Affairs, and Culture. I will have a huge focus on activity, transparency, and engagement. Another huge goal is to get more people involved in the Executive Branch of the government. For any Ministry to have potential future leadership we need more people participating in each ministry or we will consistently use the same people over and over again.

Culture

Culture I felt did a good job this term. The RMB Mayor idea was a great idea to implement this past term for engagement however it didn’t last long enough for it to be highly successful in the long run. With On-Site Affairs being a separate ministry, I would like Culture this term to work with both Integration and Foreign Affairs to first get cultural events back up and running where all TSPers can participate and also do joint cultural events with embassy partners with Foreign Affairs. I would like Culture to work with Integration to do a project on updating our wiki page and a project on the wiki with preserving our history and just overall doing more record keeping to keep it for historical purposes.

Defense

While I do have some defender expertise, it won’t be enough for me to run it without a Minister of Defense. I would definitely be appointing a Minister of Defense during my term. The main goal during this term is to reform the SPSF. The SPSF isn’t receiving that much activity and not many members are active anymore either and there is a huge lack of leadership. I and along with the Minister of Defense will work on revitalizing the SPSF and bring back both disenfranchised and new recruits to the SPSF. I also want Defense to start also working with our defender allies and return to doing joint operations with allied armies. I also hope to appoint more admirals since there are vacancies to help further leadership within the SPSF.

Foreign Affairs

In my opinion, FA needs a whole reboot. Our FA has been at a standstill and nothing is getting done. Most of the time it’s either getting rid of relations. During my term, I want my Minister of Foreign Affairs to talk with the Assembly about our FA and to get a general guide on where it should be going. I hope to reach out to more regions about embassies, and consulates. Overall, my goal is to jumpstart again and work on forging new and increasing current relations. That’s why I hope for FA to work with Culture to jump start cultural events and more cooperation with our allies.

Integration

Integration was desperately needed this past term and I feel it’s going to be the most crucial ministry this term. TSP is rapidly declining and has gone to its lowest point in history. After I left as Minister of Integration, it was sitting at 5200. Now it’s dropped to 4300. Over 900 nations left after 3 months. Even though summer is partly to blame, as the summer slump is upon us. We usually don’t do as bad as this and other regions are also doing a lot better at not getting as badly affected. I hope to pick up the recruitment pace and also encourage the Minister of Integration to get more recruiters as well so TSP could show signs of more growth.

On-Site Affairs

This is the new ministry that I will be creating this term to tackle engagement on site. Somewhat inspired by the Ministry of On-Site Events (MoOSE) a couple of terms ago. It will have a different role. It would be taking more of an engagement role of interacting with the RMBers, help them integrate with the forums and discord, keep up to speed on what’s going on off-site and both on-site, encourage them to get involved in on-site things like the WA and also vote in polls that are created. This Ministry will also serve as a liaison to myself on how we can do things better off-site as we tend to now do a lot more off-site rather than on-site.

OWL

OWL has done a great job this term and I can’t wait to work with OWL during my term. There isn’t much I would want to change to OWL because I feel it’s going fine and doing the best out of everything currently. However I would convince the OWL Director to get more OWL Volunteers to help them throughout the term.

Miscellaneous

RMB

Along with the Cabinet and Delegate, I will also take an active role in the RMB. It’s important for the Prime Minister to be active on all sides of TSP, so they can see and fix the problems on-site and off-site, along with taking feedback on what should be changed and not changed and what the PM could be doing better.

Citizenship Committee

The Citizenship Committee has been under immense debate for quite a while now. By law there could be up to 4 members on the committee at a time. There are only three currently and I hope to appoint a new person to the committee in hopes to calm the debate and offer a solution for the Citizenship Committee for them to process applications faster and each member not having as much of a workload.

Transparency and Openness

I feel the Cabinet and PM are not very transparent and open to what they’re working on during the term and I would like to do town halls during my term along with posting our own briefings between the weeks that the Fortnightly Briefing doesn’t come out. I also would like to do a State of the Coalition to increase that transparency and openness with the Assembly and our citizens so that everyone knows our successes and what we have been up to.

Thanks for looking at my campaign! I am always open to talk to!

Your COI statement reveals numerous current positions in foreign governments. How will you balance those commitments against being TSP’s head of government, and will you commit to prioritizing your obligations as PM over your obligations to other regions?

Great question Welly! I have been thinking about that for a while and I am considering just resigning from everything else and just giving TSP all the priority. Which every PM should, TSP needs someone with the time and effort to put in the effort to change TSP for the better and I plan to do that if I am elected.

Hey, great to see you running for PM again!

One thing I miss from Ministers of Defense are the SPSF monthly reports, like this one. Do you intend to bring them back?

Thanks for your question Silva! I intend to bring those back! I thought it was a great idea and it really showed how the SPSF was doing and in my mind really felt it helped inspire new recruits to join the SPSF in the first place. Since transparency and openness is one of my key initiatives I also plan for the Minister of Defense to post the libcord updates of how many of our people updated as well for further evidence of really how the SPSF is doing and also for the whole engagement on how many people in the SPSF are engaging in defending.

Previous administrations have signaled a desire to appoint a Minister of Defense but did not do so, seemingly because of an inability to find a candidate they were satisfied with. Do you have someone in mind for MoD, and do you have any plans on what to do if you are unable to find someone you believe in to take on the job?

I would of course love to see this. Do you have any more concrete ideas as to how you might take this on? What can, in your view, be done differently/better to bring in more people to the SPSF?

What do you envision this sort of thing looking like? The SPSF essentially doesn’t do any any operations alone anymore, they all run alongside our allies. And since we went full Defender, we don’t really do anything outside of Libcord. Are you imagining more special events?

Will you do this before voting starts?

Why would he? He would still have to win.

Why wouldn’t he? He’s asking for the confidence of voters of this region while he’s got several explicit conflicts of interest in regions that we actively engage with.

Let’s say he resigns and loses. Then he’s got nothing.

That’s the price you have to be comfortable paying when you run for office in a democracy. Sometimes you lose and have to continue working from where you are.

I have not figured out a clear date yet. However I will promise that I will resign before Inauguration Day. I will also give more contest that most of these roles are not that active and engaged and are more advisory and laid back since I don’t do much besides being the Minister of Community Affairs for NBB.

However, this doesn’t mean that I won’t have the voters confidence even during the election period I can still have that even though I am in jobs in other regions. Another example showing that is that regardless of this not being an electoral office. I was Minister of Integration here the same time as being in a Prime Ministerial office in Starlight. Despite not being an elected office, the people of the South Pacific still had faith in me to do a job here at the same time.

I also want to refute that we ‘engage with’ NBB and Starlight as we honestly don’t. We don’t attend NBB’s cultural events and we don’t host any at all so they can’t attend ours and the last time we really interacted with them was their joining of Aegis and that was really with us individually and that was more across the whole defender scale we only somewhat interact with them when it’s time to update in Libcord. We also haven’t interacted with Starlight at all besides the consulate and libcord as well. I don’t really see this as a problem then as an engagement issue between 3 regions more as a personal issue between the PM candidate.

My hopes during this term is to actively actually engage with our embassy and treaty regions culturally and gameplay wise and I hope that by creating Cultural events and building up our relationships etc that could happen.

In the end, if I have nothing that’s okay. I will work from the ground up again that’s the greatness of how a democracy works.

…every PM should do it or every PM should consider it?

Thanks for the questions Heliseum! I do have a candidate in mind to be MoD and I truly hope they accept. I do have a plan to run the SPSF and the whole Defense department if I can’t find a MoD. I hope that along side the Admirals and hopefully with more appointed with approval from the assembly that I can alongside them run the SPSF and revitalize it at the same time.

I hope to start recruitment ads and more advertising for the SPSF in general to get people wanting to join the SPSF. I am a former SPSF Cadet and I left during a time of many people leaving alongside me. I feel that the leadership part of the SPSF can be changed and probably the entire military overalls structure may need to be change. I also feel that the bar is set either too high or always neglected when promoting SPSFers. I know many former SPSFers and probably even current ones that should be promoted more now or for their first time promoted. I feel that by not getting promoted and not getting rewards for doing this that they just get tired of doing it and feel like there going knowhere in rank wise and overall in the military.

For example, for an update we could go fash bash with the ERN (Europeia’s Army) and a couple of others outside of libcord and call that an operation. I am not sure meaning by allies if you mean by libcord or something else outside of libcord because we don’t do those either. I guess what I am trying to say is more special events and overall more activity outside of libcord. I also help to fash bash with Independents while at the same time maintaining our full defender identity as what other full defender armies do as well.

How will this minister be different than the MoI?

Will you be dropping the idea altogether, or will you continue with it with longer durations? Originally my plan was to hold a second RMB Mayor election with a longer election period and term, but my inactivity over the past weeks prevented me from doing that.

Thanks for your questions Of the Ages! The Ministry of Integration during my time as MoI was more doing off-site integration rather than on-site integration and I want to focus the MoI this term on the wiki by doing a project on preserving our history with that and also focusing on recruitment as well. This new ministry will focus more on the integration of people on-site like with polls and for example something like the RMB Mayor idea you started this past term.

No not at all. I thought it was a brilliant idea you created and what a great way to keep people engaged, integrated, and motivated on the RMB. However though I am not sure what your scheduling was for that second race but I do plan maybe for it to be longer just so that they wouldn’t keep anticipating on it and for it to never happen. I hope to do two this time to keep them engaged as well however it does depend on if the Minister is active enough to do it. I think another good idea will be to provide a schedule so that they wouldn’t be bothering the minister about this throughout the term continuously as well.

I grew weary and tired of asking questions of the delegate candidates. I will engage you with an onslaught of questions tomorrow. Be prepared.
