“Well, I don’t really know how to judge that, but we have some stuff. We’ve got plasma weapons, FTL, pretty good shields, power armor, computers that link to your brain…” He shows his metal bracelet. “We kinda had to figure out terraforming so we aren’t bad at that. We stole a bunch of genetic stuff from the Imperium, so we got super soldiers and it was really helpful in solving those famines and epidemics. Oh, and repulsor swords. Really cool stuff, it can disperse plasma and cut through armor, really useful. Hold on, I’ve got one.” He pull out a knife out of a concealed pocket on his suit. It looks like regular knife at first but soon begins to emit a blue glow and starts pridicing a slight humming sound. He waves it around a bit. “Cool, isn’t it?”

"Yeah we still mostly use laser weaponry. Ftl is a given, and we’re currently reverse engineering some tech our friends gave us, hopefully we should be able to build a good fleet with what we have, priority number one is catching up in terms of tech and to build a good fleet, not counting finding our home of course. " He said. “Hmm, what about economy? Is your nation doing good on that front?”

Starkiller sheathed his knife. “Well, it isn’t great, but it isn’t how it was before. Most people still struggle, but there is enough basic things for everybody. Most states switched to a peace time economy, piracy is down, there is more trade and businesses, most worlds already diversified. When we were slaves, each world was dedicated to one thing. It’s pretty bad when your factory world doesn’t have any agriculture. People are starting to understand how a free market economy works. And the military pays well. At least the Grand Army does, I don’t know about others.”

“We may be able to help. I mean it’s probably a drop in the ocean but hey, we’ll do what we can.” He said offering to help htem economically even though it won’t be much. That he realizes something “Wait others? You mean there’s more than one army in your nation? Or are you talking about braches of the military?”

“I already said each world has its own government. Well, each one has its own military too. In most cases it’s just a simple planetary garrison, but some of the more powerful ones have larger armies and fleets. The Grand Army, the force of the central government, has the largest fleet, a bigger than all other combined. Its army is rather small, but it is way above everybody else in terms of quality.”

“Okay that is frankly insanity. At that point it sounds more like a allience of states more than one nation.” He says “or the holy roman empire…” They mumble while cringing as they remember some old archives of human history they had. “Sorry it’s just a bit of a shock. Uhm how’s culture?” He asks still processing this as if the sky is about to fall on their heads.

“You finally get it! The main thought behind it was to make the central government weak to ensure it cannot opress people. I’m not sure how well that is working, but that’s for politicians to figure out.” He thought about the Holy Roman Empire. He was sure he heard it somewhere, but he couldn’t remember what it was. “Culture? Well, every world has at least three, usually more. Same with languages and religions, though a solid 40% of people is atheist.”

“Yeah the varriety of cultures and religions is expected considering how large you are. Well, that is either going to work really well at stopping the government from opressing the people, or it will prevent the government from fixing anything.” The guards excuse themselves to leave to the bathroom “Well don’t have many cultures, because our people can barely agree on any tradition. We must be doing something right if we are getting the majority of fenans to think we are doing well. As for religion we have 68,2% athiests, 28% simulists and 3,8% Empists. Though we are working on getting the numbers of Empists down. Next question, do you think your populace would react badly upon meeting us?”

“No, we do not judge people based on their species. But it would be better to refrain from expressing certain political opinions in some areas. And just generally avoid some areas, especially the Wild Territories. It can be quite dangerous there if you aren’t careful. Now, I’ve got a question. What are the stimulists and empists, and what did the latter guys do so have to get rid of them? I don’t know about you, but in the Republic you have to be really bad to get everybody to try to get rid of you.” Starkiller suddenly remembered something. He looked a bit scared for a moment. “There are two groups that would absolutely hate you, but we are currently dealing with them. So, if you ever come, just be careful and follow the tourist advisory map.”

“Simulist, not Stimulist. Simulists believe in the world all being one giant simulation, as well as believing that being a cyborg is ‘holy’. They are mostly harmless. Empists on the other hand are absolute nutjobs. They are xenophobic, believe that slavery itself is a holy institution, hate body alteration, proudly call themselves authoritarians, worship a family as if they are gods and are basically a terrorist group.”

“Damn, they sound similar to the Red Hand. These guys are a pain in the ass, especially when the Senate is preventing us from going all out on them. Well, I hope you manage to deal with the Empists.”

“At this point it’s just clean up. Tracking them down, arresting them, trying to convince them to be normal, and than killing them if they are found to be a lost cause, repeat. They are also quite spread out qhich is helpful as they can’t coordianate with each other properly. We could also help you with the red hand. We could ‘take the blame’ for anything the senete doesn’t approve.”

“I don’t think that’s such a good idea. If they get angry us doing stuff, I can only imagine how they will react to foreigners. Violation of sovereingty squared. The main problem is all the bureaucratic delays and local governments being uncooperative. They are really spread out, with several outpost in the Wild Regions and tons of collaborators everywhere. Bringing in a bunch of foreigners won’t help.”

“Fair enough. You have my deepest condolences. Good luck with that. Oh well whenever you get around to it, i recomend trying to cut off communication between members as much as possible. This way they can’t cooridanate. The first step is always isolating them from outside help as much as humanly possible.”

“Well, we first have to figure out who they are. But enough about that, I’m gonna have to go report in. Expect a delegation in a couple weeks.” He stood up and started walking back towards the hangar. He looks back and takes off his glasses, revealing his brown eyes. “It was nice chatting with you Hex, I hope we meet again.” He does a quick salute, puts on his glasses and continues walking. There will be a crazy story out of this one.

When he reached his bomber he comes inside and activates long-range comms.

“This is Starkiller, reporting in. My drive malfunctioned and I accidentally stumbled upon a foreign state. They call themselves the Home Reclamation Government. I talked with a diplomat for a while and he was chill. They aren’t xenophobic either. Anyways, I’m gonna head back, though it might take a while. I know you will miss me, but you will have to cope without me for a couple days.”

After a couple weeks a new ship arrived in the HRC system. It was huge, several kilometers in length. It was oval in shape and made of a shining black material. It was heavily armed.

“We are a diplomatic mission from the Republic of United Worlds. We are here to estabilish permanent relations with the Home Reclamation Government. Excuse our choice of transport, but we tried to make the journey as short as possible. We request permission to send a shuttle to your planet or station.”

“Permission granted. Landing protocols enganged. We like thr show of force don’t worry.” They engage landing protocols for larger vessals.

A shuttle is send from the ship and heads towards the planet. It looks like a minature version of the giantic dreadnought that remained in orbit. It smoothly enters the atmoshphere, without any burning. It landed in the designated spot and a group of people of varying species, dressed in identical white robes with turquise and silver embroidery, exit.

Two of them were at the front. One appeared to be made of purple goo, arranged in a vaguely humanoid shape. The other one was a humanoid creature coated in light brown fur. It was hunchback and had a tail. It wore a respirator.

The goo creature spoke. “I am Globlon, a diplomat from the Republic. It is a pleasure to meet you.”

The fury creature spoke next. “And I am Vernan. I will be an ambassador to your nation.”

Hex was waiting for them as well as another Fenan “Welcome to New Rena, our current capital planet and the best place to do business in the HRG. I’m Hex, the envoy that I’m sure your friend talked about. The Fenan next to me is Prim, the next Arkon after our current one retires.”
