For a nation, I was thinking an external threat (Especially since this threat is going to need to match every nation in A1-0 in scale to not just get obliterated) (this was just a clarifying post to Frost, the vote is still on)
Itās looking like itāll be nation anyway, so Iāll post an idea here.
Between my previously posted idea and an idea Iāve had for an A1-0 short story, Iāve had the idea that IFTL dimensions could potentially connect alternate universes
So, if we decide to incorporate that into the canon, the threat could be a nation thatās breaking through from an alternate reality into ours
Voted for interdimensional because:
- The fact we use other dimensions to travel threw would make this interesting, so there would be diplomacy stuff.
Rehy wanna do a purge.I like military RP and I wanna use my military.
Whoops, just realized thatās a different option
I am so smart
((I kinda wanna separate topic for this, but Iāll let OP acreage that)
Rehy would be a USA where-giving-you-freedom style hypocrite. Going around purging things we deem āfascistā or ātheocraticā.
I am OP of this topic and would ask that you talk about this plan elsewhere to avoid unnecesarily clogging this topic.
Itāll be a military thing regardless of what it is, at least thatās how I understand it
Looks like a 50% majority
@Orozon has not voted (and with these results iād still do another vote)
Btw, im somewhat concerned about the location of the crisis
Likes the threat has to come from somewhere, and depending on where it is, it will favor some nations over others in terms of relevancy and involvement, which Iām pretty sure we want to avoid
Thatās going to be a problem unless it hits us like a wall from a certain side of A1-0 (complicated schanigans with making a 3D space into a 2D map), but then it might be too strong to defeat.
Even if we vote for an extradimension threat, it would have to be at least one portal in every syar nation in order to be fair.
In the end, some of us would have to bear the brunt of the attackers.
There are ways we can get around this. The vote is over, we have decided on a nation, but interdimensional FTL is still a thing and can be used to ensure that the threat doesnāt just hit the edge nations of A1-0.
It should also be noted that the nation attacking would not simply be defeated but would carve its way into A1-0. If your nation simply borders another nation being invaded, that is cause for concern because the invaders would be crashing through in the early days.
So what is this mystery nation?
Or do we each make a submission for it?
This is something we would need to discuss, but the nation doesnāt really need intense worldbuilding and could literally be anything
It would be fun to worldbuild it though
I know, Iām just saying we donāt need to spend months on worldbuilding like we do for our nations. But I did just have an idea, and Iāll get back with youā¦
So, I think Iāll do another poll. How much does everyone want to know about the nation beforehand? Do you want the nation to be a mystery?
- I want to know about the worldbuilding beforehand.
- I want there to be worldbuilding beforehand, but I want it to be a mystery to those who didnāt make it.
- I donāt care about worldbuilding, I only care about the content of the RP
(FYI, this poll will not run for as long as the other one.)
If I may explain my opinion real quick, I think there should definitely be worldbuilding, but I think it would be easier for us to roleplay if we donāt initially know about the enemy, and then learn about it as we continue to fight
I feel like that could also raise some conflicts of interest
