Over 100 people have been arrested after the protests in London.

Over 75,000 buildings have been left without power in the Los Oviedos mountainous area. Luisa Lambán, the President of the autonomous community of Santiago, stated in a press conference that she was in direct talks with Prime Minister Pedro Areces Garcia and Minister of Industry, Trade, and Tourism, Mina González on turning the lights back on.

Some are connecting the lack of oil due to the Port of Huelva closure to the buildings without power. However, the main supplier of energy in Santiago, IL Energy, stated on social media that the company relies on imports through the ports of both Ayamonte and Valencia, not Huelva.

President Aziz Traore in a quick media conference addressed the editorial owned by the Pelinese state after being question by a reporter and in addition, the proposed defense pact with Emerald-Denver (@KingTEM ).

"As soon as we entered the world stage, and made our goals clear, it is to no surprise that some nations would object, as that is common. The world is filled with different ideologies, some that come into agreement, and others that butt heads and enter conflict. What is surprising is the attempt to discredit our nation. The Atheist Policies of Evinea do not supress nor undermine religious individuals as we respect freedom of religion. Religious people have the same rights, freedoms, and opportunities as any other individual. However, we deeply cannot allow religion to be a factor in our political and governmental system as that is why we had civil discourse and chaos many years back. We great believe in the separation of state and religion and we uphold that value to ensure Evinea never falls into civil war again. The Pelinese state has no authority or claim of rewriting the events of our nation to bolster their hateful message. However, we wish for peace and hope that wish can be respected.

"Moving on from that, we are pleased to note that we have agreed to the Mutual Defense Pact the state of Emeral-Denver has offered us. In light of Pelinese slander, it may serve to us as a motivating factor to begin the writing process of the Pact. Our nation may begin the writing process of the pact, or Emerald can, but the sooner the better. This may be the start of prosperous relation between our two nations and the offices of Mr. Galen and I, and we wish to not ruin that. At some point in the near future, I would like to travel to Emerald-Denver for a state visit as a symbolic, albeit legitimate, show of cooperation, peace, and respect between our two nations.

Pelinese tabloid World Reporter has published a new issue under the joke name Ministry of Publishing in mockery of multiple recent instances of its article about Evinea being considered as official government policy. The first article in it is a statement from the World Reporter’s board of editors, part of which reads as follows:

”We at the World Reporter harshly and unequivocally condemn all recent implications that our newspaper is somehow an arm of the Pelinese state. We would like to state clearly that the Pelinese Ministry of State Industry owns only 20% of our parent company, state with no ambiguity whatsoever that the neither the PMoSI nor any other government agency exerts any control whatsoever over the contents of the World Reporter’s editorial or other published content, and strongly rebuke any suggestion that the World Reporter is a mouthpiece for the Pelinese state, any other state, or any other organization. We are fully independent in writing our newspaper’s content, have always been fully independent in writing our newspaper’s content, and will always be fully independent in writing our newspaper’s content.
Furthermore, we would like to point out that the Evinean government seems to have confused its terms. We point out that the term “atheist state” refers to a government which explicitly promotes atheism and necessarily oppresses religion while doing so, and that a government that merely maintains neutrality with respect to religion is referred to as “secular” instead. Furthermore, based on these definitions, we assert that the Evinean government which claims to be an atheist state has either grossly misclassified itself or is simply lying about not committing egregious abuses of human rights in violation of international law. We at the World Reporter hold ourselves to the highest standard of journalistic integrity and will not stand to be slandered by a foreign government who wishes merely to use our publications as a weak excuse for its international actions.”

The Pelinese Ministry of Foreign Affairs has issued an official complaint to the Evinean ambassador in Pelinai after Evinean president Aziz Traore falsely characterized multiple statements from a majority-privately owned newspaper as being representative of official Pelinese government policy and using said false characterization to condemn the Kingdom of Pelinai’s government. An excerpt from a statement by Minister or Foreign Affairs Boris Akirov is provided below:

”With respect to recent statements by the president of Evinea, allow me to say this: when official positions and policy of the Pelinese government are stated, they are stated by officials of the Pelinese government. Not a tabloid newspaper.”

BREAKING NEWS:

FIC-assisted raid on building by the Losavran Paramilitary Police captures Zakra- he’s been imprisoned immediately and his trial is being planned- its expected he’ll be given either life in prison or executed for leading the LFM in its terrorist activities. Several smaller leaders of the LFM have made calls to rise up, but Ikaranarean intelligence has allowed Local Militia to rapidly deploy and destroy all of the violent uprisings before they could become a major civilian threat. Some are calling it the “End of the Losavran Frankist Movement” and the “Final destruction of the GLFP.” The FIC has declined to comment on how they figured out Zakra’s location, saying it was a “complicated and deep investigation.” Some speculate it had something to do with his video yesterday, although it is unknown what detail it could have been. People hope this signals a possible end to major terrorist activity in Losavra, as Ikaranarean assets being used to destroy the LFM can be used to target other Losavran terrorists.

Response on the Controversy from the Secretary of Foreign Affairs

Elijah Adjei, Secretary of Foreign Affairs on the matter.

"On behalf of the Evinean government, the state apologizes for it’s mischaracterization of the state of Pelinai. That is a misplay on our part and we will hold ourselves accountable for that. However, once again, and what seems to be begrudgingly still need to be stated to the World Reporter: our atheist policies do not harm any Evinean citizen. It is quite disingenuous to claim to do so when you are simply trying to make a title, or shall I say, label a “one size fit all”. Yes, an atheist state can be very harsh in anti-religion practices where it suppresses one of the fundamental civil liberties defined here in our nation, freedom of religion, however, do realize that nations apply their rules and customs differently. Here in Evinea, the state is not anti-religion, but rather politically pro-secular. In our perspective, atheism does not equate anti-religion, but definitively, the lack of it. As already said by Mr. Traore, our state will be kept separate from religion, but this does not mean people cannot believe in a religion or have to fear being religious. due to the false notion of persecution being thrown at us. Officials such as our Secretary of Energy Alexander Okaseye, Secretary of Education James Lopare, Vice President Fatima Musa, and multiple staff members here in our very government are religious. Musa, for example, is Muslim and we very well know that, and Traore very well respects her as his second in command. We have been running this system of secularism for decades since the Civil War, and has only brought our nation peace and harmony. In fact, because religion no longer is in the playground of the hostile battlefield of politics, we have rather seen more religious harmony and coexistence, contrary to your so-called analysis. If our nation was oppressing religion, we would be right back in the situation we once were long ago. If your organization does hold itself to the highest standard of journalistic integrity, then please, consider not going after people and nations with no evidence when your journalists have not even stepped foot on our lands to even view what our nation is like on the ground. Going of preset beliefs and generalizations is unfair to our nation and your reporting, so please do not repeat this mistake again, as this is not some debacle we need occurring furthermore. Once again, apologies to the Pelinese government for the discrediting of their state.
