Health Ministry Rolls Out Voluntary Rehab Network Following Soft Drug Decriminalisation
Cintralia — The Coalitanian government formally launched its “Pathway to Wellbeing” programme today, establishing state-funded rehabilitation and counselling services in all four administrative regions. The move comes two months after the National Assembly passed the Personal Use Decriminalisation Act, that removed criminal penalties for possession of small quantities of cannabis and other drugs.
The initiative, with an initial budget of 950 million C$, will be integrated into existing municipal health centres rather than standalone facilities.
The ISF (Internal Security Forces) reports indicate a 22% decrease in drug-related arrests, while calls to addiction helplines have increased by over 150%. Critics, however, remain skeptical. “We are trading long-term social health for short-term administrative convenience,” argued Dr. Anya Kolesnik, a popular spokesperson, activist, and doctor “The data on long-term outcomes from such models is still mixed.”
Coalitanian Drone Strikes Target JLM Convoy in Eastern Jakur, Mirad Confirms
Arba, Mirad — The Miradi Ministry of Defence confirmed today that Alcoalitanian unmanned aerial vehicles provided intelligence and strike support that led to the destruction of a Jakuri Liberation Movement (JLM) logistics convoy early Friday. The operation took place in the remote Gadar Valley, a key supply route for the group.
Satellite imagery analysis shared with the Herald shows three vehicles were hit on a mountain track. The JLM’s media arm claimed the vehicles were carrying commercial goods and that the strike killed four civilians. This could not be independently verified. The Alcoalitanian Foreign Ministry, when asked, reiterated its “firm support for Mirad’s sovereignty and territorial integrity” and its commitment to “counter-terrorism cooperation.”
Alcoalitania Backs Miradi Government as Polls Show Gains for Nationalist Zera
Arba, Mirad — With national elections in Mirad scheduled for June, Coalitanian Foreign Minister Soren Kael issued a pointed statement of “full confidence” in the leadership of President Vallen Zeller.
The statement is widely seen as a diplomatic counter to the rising popularity of opposition leader Kovarsk Zera, whose “Miradi Renewal” movement has gained significant traction in polls, particularly in northern regions less affected by the Jakur conflict. Zera campaigns on a platform of “national sovereignty,” promising to review all foreign aid agreements-implicitly targeting Alcoalitania’s extensive economic and military support and to promote Zarkanxiz traditional values.
