Developing— The Krauanagaz Geological Survey (KGS) has reported increased seismic swarms and subterranean tremors beneath the Alkantarak volcanic zone, prompting the agency to issue a Volcano Advisory as of 11:54 local time. This new alert accompanies an Earthquake Watch issued late last night for much of southern Krauanagaz that remains in effect.

The activity, centered beneath the southeastern flank of Mount Alkantarak, has already led to the evacuation of at least seven rural communities in the broader disaster impact zone. These areas had only recently begun limited reconstruction efforts following the catastrophic earthquake and tsunami earlier this year.

According to KGS Director Álim Kesun, “We are observing magma movement and stress fractures consistent with a potential eruptive sequence. While no surface breach has occurred yet, we are treating this as a high-risk situation.” The KGS says the alert level for Mt. Alkantarak has been elevated to Yellow, meaning officials have detected increased seismic activity in indicator areas that indicates a higher likelihood of an eruption or earthquake.

Emergency shelters are being reactivated in threatened areas, and the Federal Emergency Management Agency has been placed on standby. The World Forum Humanitarian Office has also issued a regional emergency advisory, warning of potential infrastructure disruptions in the event of a new eruption or major aftershock.

Prime Minister Erickson has paid tribute to her former Political Science lecturer who has passed away aged 86. Speaking, the Prime Minister said, ‘Thank you for what you did and doing it in the way you did it. Only for you, I wouldn’t be standing here as Prime Minister today.’

Deputy Prime Minister Garcia, addressing the ongoing controversy around how quickly the Prime Minister was appointed and sworn in, said, ‘People only get me because I’ve done it three times and been Deputy Prime Minister twice, that’s it. If it was me stepping into the role of Prime Minister for the first time now, I’d be treated the same as the Prime Minister. Whilst we should appreciate those who did well in Government, others cannot be overlooked.’

Mister Speaker Philip Horn has admitted there are conversations ongoing in Speaker’s House about his successor and the next Speaker’s election.

Prime Minister Erickson has admitted her appointment as Prime Minister was very last-minute despite former Prime Minister Cecil Walton claiming this was always the plan. The Prime Minister said no-one was declaring candidacy and she knew the former Prime Minister was stepping down very last-minute so she stepped up. She said she understands why no-one wanted to step up and become Prime Minister, they knew they would not be popular for doing it.

BREAKING NEWS
The Sortition Referendum has failed to pass, with 49% voting in favour of the motion, 6% voting against the motion and 45% voting to abstain.

The Feudalism Referendum has passed, with 89% voting in favour of removing feudalism, 8% voting against the motion and 3% voting to abstain. This means, in an historic move, the public has voted to remove the Higher Chamber of Parliament and be represented by just one House of Parliament.

Prime Minister’s Reaction to Historic Double Referendum

Today, Qaweritoyu has spoken — and spoken with remarkable clarity.

The vote to abolish the Higher Chamber of Parliament is a resounding endorsement of the principles of equality, accountability, and modern democratic governance. I campaigned strongly for this reform, and I am both humbled and encouraged by the overwhelming support it has received. With 89% of voters in favour, we now turn a historic page. The age of inherited privilege in our legislative process is over. From this moment forward, every law will be debated and decided by a single, elected House — answerable only to the people.

At the same time, I must express my disappointment at the outcome of the Sortition Referendum. Though it did not pass, it came incredibly close — with 49% in favour and just 6% opposed. The high level of abstention shows that many are still undecided, and I view this not as a rejection, but as a pause. The conversation about how to deepen democratic engagement is not over. I remain committed to exploring new and innovative ways to bring ordinary voices into our political process.

Today marks the beginning of a new chapter. With the people’s clear backing, we will now move forward with a reformed, streamlined parliamentary system — and continue striving toward a more participatory, more responsive democracy for all.

Cynthia Erickson,
Prime Minister.

A Bipartisan agreement has been reached to pass a bill that would expand benefits for combat veterans of the Joint Peacekeeping Operation in Termina.

Under the new bill, Combat veterans will be entitled to a 50% compensation for the rent and maintenance of their residential premises. This includes services for managing an apartment building, maintaining and repairing common property in the building, and paying for major repairs. After retirement and/or discharge, veterans will be able to be served in the same clinics and hospitals to which they were attached during their service. In addition, they receive medical care out of turn within the framework of the state guarantees program.

Furthermore, Combat veterans will be able to take annual leave at a time convenient for them. They would also have the right to leave without pay for up to 35 days. Combat veterans can receive vocational training and additional professional education at the expense of their employer. Combat veterans can expect a monthly cash payment of approximately 150,000₴(apprx. 110$). Additionally, a set of social services is to be provided (free public transport, free tickets to museums and free medicine). If these benefits are waived, the cash allowance can be increased.

Additional support measures for combat veterans will also be able to be set by regions.

The Bill has received widespread support from the Kliegmean populace, but some pundits have claimed this may excessively drive people to the military, driving people away from other sectors of employment.

While the development in the United States of Izaakia, of open armed conflict, is not something Kliegme desires, the nation finds itself unable to meaningfully respond to the situation. Its current focus on neighbouring Termina prevents the Kliegmean government and populace from focusing meaningfully on the Izaakian crisis. Its military is also tied down intervening in Termina, meaning any Kliegmean actions in Izaakia would lack the force to back it up.

As such, Kliegme is only capable of making statements and diplomatic gestures. Not entirely meaningless, but also lacking in achieving the nation’s ideals. The government line is that the New Mako Government is the sole legitimate government that represents the Izaakian people, which is deemed to be in line with the Sallodesian stance, albeit with minor differences.

In other news, MoD reports suggests that the Terminan front against the STPG has shifted in favour of government forces and its CE backers.

Prime Minister Erickson has hit back at people who claim she is woke. ‘Chill out,’ she said.

Critics of the Government have commented on the Government, Cabinet and Prime Minister’s progress over the past two months. They said they only expect the Prime Minister to remain in office for a limited time and they believe that was a past mistake of Deputy Prime Minister Garcia within this elected term. They said the Government has been very unhelpful as to what is actually going on behind the scenes but that there are mixed messages coming from the Government as the moment, with former Prime Minister Walton stating that it was always the plan for the Prime Minister to succeed him and Prime Minister Erickson saying this was not the plan and was very last-minute.

Critics said the previous that the previous Prime Minister to have spent a short time in office, which was within this elected term and was Deputy Prime Minister Garcia, caused problems and he was always on people’s minds. They said his decision to rotate the office of Prime Minister to former Prime Minister Walton was confusing.

Critics think the nation needs a period of stability in order to move forward. They think messing about further with the office of Prime Minister might make the public totally lose faith. They said that a limited run is not going to going to be enough to bring out the best in the Government and, all going well, there are just over two years left in this elected term, any changing around is going to get very messy very quickly.

Critics have said that the more chopping and changing the Government do, the worse it looks on them and how they approach seriously dealing with the business at hand. This is the third Prime Minister since the previous General Election in 2022. They also said this is something the Government can ill-afford to keep doing if they wish to remain popular with the public.

Withdrawal Complete, But Can Okhoa Secure Its Democracy?

Ka’atria— After weeks of tense diplomacy and sporadic clashes, Okhoa’s constitutional transition entered a new phase of cautious optimism this week as Zuhlgani forces completed their withdrawal from the Okhoan Isles and the Constitutional Convention carried on with renewed international backing— even as investigators probe alleged misconduct during the pullout and public-health officials warn of continuing Cordilian Fever dangers across Southern Cordilia.

The Zuhlgani Defense Command confirmed earlier today that the last regular Dominion units have left Okhoan territory. The withdrawal follows mounting pressure from Okhoan authorities, the World Forum (WF) transition mission, and repeated diplomatic warnings from the Krauanagaz Federation.

In a brief statement, the Dominion said it had “completed the agreed phased drawdown” and that it had opened an internal inquiry into “alleged misconduct” during parts of the operation. The statement named no specific incidents but said the review would be “transparent and expeditious.”

Cordilian Fever Cases Plateau in Some Areas, Surge in Others as Governments Adjust Response Strategies

Alkantara, Krauanagaz— Public health authorities across Southern Cordilia reported mixed progress today in containing the months-long Cordilian Fever outbreak, with some regions seeing early signs of stabilization while others face sharp spikes in new infections.

In Okhoa, the Ministry of Health announced that daily new case numbers have plateaued for the first time in six weeks, with the reproductive rate falling below 1.0 in four Zarhmas. Interim Health Minister Áma Drovai attributed the shift to “consistent application of localized lockdowns, targeted vaccination drives, and rapid-response medical units.” However, she cautioned that the picture is far from uniform, pointing to “severe flare-ups” in coastal settlements where recent celebrations following the Zuhlgani withdrawal brought large, maskless gatherings.

Krauanagaz’s Center for Disease Control (CDC) reported a worrying uptick in the northern provinces of Krautallaz and Zhzoatal, where refugee camp populations remain densely packed despite repeated calls for decongestion. Aid groups warned that conditions in these camps, many still recovering from the early-year natural disasters, are ripe for rapid viral spread.

In Zuhlgan, official figures remain contested. The Dominion Health Ministry has reported “only minor increases” in case numbers, but independent observers, including the Cordilian Epidemiology Network (CEN), claim local outbreaks in at least three inland regions are “severely underreported.”

Final Zuhlgani Naval Exit from Okhoa Marked by New Probes, Storm-Forced Vaccine Diversion

Okhoa, Okhoa— WF observers have confirmed that the final Zuhlgani naval assets have departed Okhoan waters, while the WF transition mission to begins verification of base closures today. Though sources say the OCDP has internally reported the discovery of “unmarked and unexplained” sealed containers left in a vacated Zuhlgani forward base, and that a WF security team was dispatched. The WF Transition Mission in Okhoa did not respond to requests for comment on the containers, but released a statement today informing that a WF cargo ship carrying 750,000 vaccine doses for the Okhoan Isles had been diverted to an alternate port due to heavy storm damage at Kingsland Port.

Additionally, early this morning the Dominion Ministry of Justice released a statement saying that “several personnel” have been suspended amid a misconduct probe linked to the Okhoa withdrawal, though no details have yet been released. Sources familiar with the investigation say that Zuhlgani soldiers are accused of “cultural desecration” of a sacred Okhoa site.
