Prime Minister Erickson has admitted her appointment as Prime Minister was very last-minute despite former Prime Minister Cecil Walton claiming this was always the plan. The Prime Minister said no-one was declaring candidacy and she knew the former Prime Minister was stepping down very last-minute so she stepped up. She said she understands why no-one wanted to step up and become Prime Minister, they knew they would not be popular for doing it.

The Feudalism Referendum has passed, with 89% voting in favour of removing feudalism, 8% voting against the motion and 3% voting to abstain. This means, in an historic move, the public has voted to remove the Higher Chamber of Parliament and be represented by just one House of Parliament.

Prime Minister’s Reaction to Historic Double Referendum
Today, Qaweritoyu has spoken — and spoken with remarkable clarity.
The vote to abolish the Higher Chamber of Parliament is a resounding endorsement of the principles of equality, accountability, and modern democratic governance. I campaigned strongly for this reform, and I am both humbled and encouraged by the overwhelming support it has received. With 89% of voters in favour, we now turn a historic page. The age of inherited privilege in our legislative process is over. From this moment forward, every law will be debated and decided by a single, elected House — answerable only to the people.
At the same time, I must express my disappointment at the outcome of the Sortition Referendum. Though it did not pass, it came incredibly close — with 49% in favour and just 6% opposed. The high level of abstention shows that many are still undecided, and I view this not as a rejection, but as a pause. The conversation about how to deepen democratic engagement is not over. I remain committed to exploring new and innovative ways to bring ordinary voices into our political process.
Today marks the beginning of a new chapter. With the people’s clear backing, we will now move forward with a reformed, streamlined parliamentary system — and continue striving toward a more participatory, more responsive democracy for all.
Cynthia Erickson,
Prime Minister.
