Protests have continued to intensify in several Visrodin cities due to the repeated vetos of the House of Barons against any legislation to introduce a feasible minimum wage, end public executions and basically expand the civil and political freedoms of Visrodin citizens.

During this morning, however, an explosion occurred during one of the sessions at the House of Barons, which made a portion of the building’s roof collapse, injuring several Barons. Visrodin Police immediately rushed to the House of Barons to stop any further threat, but no possible perpetrators were found at the scene.

Meanwhile, several individuals carrying assault weapons had just arrived to one of the ongoing protests in Sarnitsa. These individuals started to shoot unrelentingly against any Visrodin police guards at the scene. Many of the protesters fled from the assault, even if not apparently directed against them, and some others escalated the protest to a riot as well, even toppling a statue of Knyaz Boris VI. The assault lasted almost an entire hour, until considerable police reinforcements arrived to the location. The individuals managed to elude the police and flee, however, amidst the chaos.

This incident, considered a terrorist attack by Visrodin authorities is estimated to have caused around 23 deaths (18 of them police guards) and 36 injuries (6 of them Barons). Visrodin Security Services have determined that the perpetrators of the attack most likely are members of the National Republican Front, which, until this point had been relatively silent, with its last terrorist attack being in 2014.

Developing— Multiple sources within the Krauanagazan State Department have confirmed that the Takaran People’s Army (TPA)-Purity Vanguard (PV) Coalition, currently in control of Mitallduk, has released 327 hostages taken during the onset of the conflict earlier this year.

The hostages, primarily Krauanagazan nationals, were reportedly handed over to neutral intermediaries at a location near the southern border of Mitallduk late last night. Among them are believed to be several high-profile individuals, including aid workers, engineers, and journalists who were abducted during the initial militant offensives in Mitallduk’s contested regions.

While the reasons behind the release remain unclear, analysts suggest it could be a move by the TPA-PV Coalition to foster goodwill or position themselves favorably for future negotiations. The Krauanagazan government has yet to release an official statement, though sources within the State Department have described the development as, “an unexpected, but significant humanitarian breakthrough.”

International observers and humanitarian organizations are cautiously optimistic but warn that this move does not necessarily signal a broader de-escalation in Mitallduk’s volatile situation.

Heir to the throne Yakov Rucheyski has been hospitalized today due to several injuries caused by a fight with Knyaz Viktor III Rucheyski himself. Yakov reportedly told medics that the Knyaz hit him with his sceptre “way too hard” over disagreements about his career, education and mandatory military conscription, which has always been a tradition for the heir of the throne.

The 17 year old heir has spent his life out of the spotlight of Visrodin politics and media, and it is somewhat known that his relationship with his father, the Knyaz, is sour, but the reasons for these are mostly unknown and reserved to the Knyaz and heir.

What has been called a “national anthem coup” occurred right before Transsunerian president Emil Palmann’s New Year speech. Usually the official anthem Guldene Land precedes the popular speech, but this time it had been replaced with a church hymn called Eglad dik! (“Rejoice!”). A grandiose hymn celebrating the birth of Jesus, Eglad dik! has been associated with the restoration of peace and wealth in the nation since the civil war and has been a popular sports chant.

The President was unaware during his speech that the normal anthem had been replaced, but certain quotes implied that he was and that Eglad dik! was infact about to be adopted as the official anthem. Stream account “Grabbeer8” belonging to an anonymous person allegedly within the TV team responsible for the broadcast of the speech, claimed responsibility for the act.

Judging from viral positive reactions in social media and newspapers, President Palmann announced that he would be open to officially adopting Eglad dik!, pending a referendum and the result of a police investigation on the matter.

In a very tense New Year’s Festival in Visrodin, Knyaz Viktor III Rucheyski has held a much shorter than usual speech, and instead of touching typical topics, like the stability of the Kingdom and power of the monarchy, the main focus of the speech has been, in the Knyaz’s own words: “the destruction of the monarchy’s enemies”.

Although New Year’s has been typical in most of the Kingdom, although TV has been showing somewhat different news than usual, possibly as censorship, Martial Law has been declared in the capital city of Sarnitsa. This decision has been taken directly by the Knyaz, due to a new terrorist attack.

This time, a large group of armed individuals (~70) has invaded the Sarnitsa Alexandriev Hospital, where the heir to the throne, Yakub Rucheysky is supposedly located. The individuals have taken the entire hospital as hostages, as the VoPol (Military Police) have surrounded and sieged the hospital. Surveillance drones are being used to detect any possible kidnappings. Localizing the heir is the VoPol’s highest importance objective.

Currently, the situation remains tense as VoPol keeps the hospital surrounded and is threatening the group to surrender, or that “they will face consequences”.

The siege of the Sarnitsa Alexandriev Hospital has finished, after the surrender and escape of the armed individuals which initially attacked the hospital. VoPol managed to enter the hospital, without any major incidents or gunfire, and the people which were trapped within the hospital as hostages are now free or safe.

However, there are some people missing from the hospital after the attack. Most of the armed individuals (~50) managed to escape undetected from the establishment. Most notably, the heir to the throne, Yakub Rucheyski, has vanished from the hospital. Most likely kidnapped by the armed individuals, his location is now unknown.

Clearly, the kidnapping of the first-in-line successor to the Kingdom of Visrodin is no small matter. Upon hearing this development about the kidnapping of his son and heir, Knyaz Viktor III has issued the start of large-scale searches in Sarnitsa and surrounding territories to hopefully rescue the heir as soon as possible. The main director of the Visrodin Internal Security Department has also been fired, as well as multiple other influential security figures, who have been personally blamed by the Knyaz as “incompetent traitors”. These firings would usually have to be approved through the House of Barons, but due to the Knyaz’s threats of starting criminal investigations on those who rejected the measures, they quickly passed without issues.

The National Republican Front has also claimed responsibility for the attack and kidnapping. Usually, the NRF doesn’t claim the attacks performed by its members, but due to the scale of this last attack, this has changed. The NRF has also established that they have no intentions of hurting the heir (unlike his dad), and that they’d be willing to exchange the heir for all imprisoned NRF members since 2010 (around 250-500 members), as the NRF views its imprisoned members as political prisoners.

A Tumultuous Year in Southern Cordilia

Simultaneously, the Mitallduk Confederacy plunged deeper into civil war, with ramifications rippling across Southern Cordilia.
