A devastating terrorist attack on School No. 5 in Tsukumo Raion, Yatagaras, took the lives of 48 Kliegmeans despite efforts from Kliegmean forces.
Early this morning, heavily armed militants, who declared themselves to be linked to the Terminan Republic (Nationalists), stormed the school during a festive ceremony to mark the school’s opening. Kliegmean soldiers, stationed nearby due to recent threats in the region, reacted swiftly, engaging the attackers as they tried to force hundreds of students and teachers into the school gymnasium.
The soldiers managed to prevent many from being taken hostage, escorting the majority to safety under heavy fire. However, some attackers successfully entered the gymnasium with a group of children, where they rigged explosives and issued demands for the withdrawal of Kliegme forces from Termina.
Negotiations began but quickly broke down. As security forces prepared to breach the school, the militants detonated the explosives in what appears to have been a last, desperate act. The explosion destroyed much of the gymnasium, killing the attackers and the children they held captive.
Preliminary reports suggest at least 48 lives were lost in the attack, 32 of them children, along with several security personnel who attempted to intervene. The swift response by Kliegmean forces prevented the situation from escalating into a prolonged hostage crisis, but the attackers’ final act has plunged the nation into grief, and rage.
President Alexey Boroshilov called the attack a “heinous and cowardly act of terror, conducted by desperate rats,” and promised that those responsible for orchestrating the operation would be brought to justice. He has also condemned Mipha for not enforcing border security adequately, allowing millitants to enter Kliegme.
He has sent Mipha a De-Facto Ultimatum, demanding an adequate response to ensure security of Kliegme and Mipha alike, such as Declaring Neutrality and banning all factions from entering Mipha, or allowing Kliegmean Military Presence.

Today, the Königspalast convened to debate on motions regarding an intervention into Termina.
The liberal FPG has put a motion onto the agenda picking up the original plan of military intervention through a naval blockade of Northern Termina. With a vote of 124-286-40 (Aye/Nay/Abstain) it did not pass.
The cabinet’s proposal for humanitarian aid and deployment of peacekeeping forces went through with no member of parliament voting against it and only a minority abstaining from the vote (355-0-87). According to minister of defense Recke, the government will present a deployment schedule in the upcoming days after negotiations with Kliegme, the USI, TCG-aligned city states and the STPG have concluded.
The federal budget for 2025 will be amended to provide the municipalities and states of Gianatla with “enough financial resources” to manage the expected higher numbers of refugees arriving in Gianatla in the coming months.

Protests outside the Gianlucian Embassy at Kliegme, decrying the “Gianlucian decision to abandon their ally at their time of need.” This slogan refers to the recent terrorist attacks in Yatagaras. The protests are peaceful, but the language used is not exactly civil.
While the Kliegmean Government has not commented on the protests, it is expected that Kliegme will enter talks with Gianatla to pursue other forms of peaceful intervention in the Terminan Crisis.

Vice President Lando Hamilton offers condolences to the families of the terror attack in Kliegme. However, cautioned the Kliegme government against whipping up patriotic fervour to justify a potentially catastrophic war in Termina.
Vice President Hamilton welcomed news of Gianatlas peacekeeping mission, and their rejection of direct military intervention in Termina.

The “Pact of the Stars”, a mutual cooperation agreement between FiHami and Antarcha, has been dissolved by FiHami’s newly-announced Minister of Foreign Affairs Kaitiri Axi’a, a prominent Matriarchy Fundamentalist.

As Miphan reactions weren’t as expected, the Kliegmean Ultimatum was withdrawn, yet the question for Mipha remains.
Kliegme, instead, has called upon the CE to deal with Mipha. Additionally, it has invited the Miphan leadership to join the joint funeral for the lives lost due to the Tsukumo Terrorist Attack. KMFA has stated that it hopes to mend ties between the state and city-state during the event.
The recent turn of events is not popular, with the rage from the terrorist attacks still boiling. However, it is suggested that a potential STPG intervention is what caused the sudden U-Turn.
However, Kliegmean perception of Terminans in general has severely deteriorated with the recent change of events. Experts believe that Kliegme and Termina would not enjoy the lucrative relationship it has enjoyed pre-War, even if the war were to end in a pro-Status Quo manner.

The city-state of Mipha has remained eerily quiet on all official channels in the wake of the heinous terror attack in Yatagarasu. Reporters have noticed that all local officials have been given a gag order by the state and are also unable to comment or condemn the attacks.
Meanwhile the Terminan Security force issued its own statement acknowledging its failure to secure the yatagaras border against fringe Nationalist militias, and condemned the nationalists for their heinous act of violence against civilians. However, analysts have noted that the TSF is currently in the midst of the most divisive conflict in Terminan history and is unable to rapidly respond on multiple contested fronts.

FiHami dissenters are saying the move is in “bad faith” and highly insensitive to the plight of transgender people around Pacifica. However, both the Prime Minister and High Priestess say they are “very proud” of “finally coming out to the world”.

“As someone who is legally registered as “X”, without gender, the actions of Texeteti and Huahasi are absolutely vile. They made a mockery of Finixi people who suffered under the Antarchi Empire, especially those who did not fall in the Antarchi gender binary, or chose a different gender than what the Antarchi chose for them. Nationalist leaders from Okeanos expressed their disappointment in the Pro-Nationalist militia responsible for the attack on Yatagaras saying that their solo operation wasted munitions that could be used to secure Clocktown.
Meanwhile the STPG firmly condemned the attack calling the nationalists undisciplined rabble and called upon other city-states to abandon them and the rotten Confederacy.

Elements of the Stoinian Royal Navy persist in their joint blockade with Sedunnic forces around the Terminan coast. Meanwhile a detachment of special forces has linked up with the larger Sallodesian contingent in support of the Kliegmean forces. Both governments have voiced support for this joint CE operation.

A landslide destroys the main high-street area of the town of Skyrack in Claro State. The town was evacuated earlier in the week ahead of the landslide. Government estimates put the total damage from the earthquake and cyclone at approximately $1.8 billion and the final death count at 93.

With this purchase, the Visrodin Crown now owns 83.5% of Visrodin Royal Gold. Despite the company having been completely owned by the Visrodin crown, meaning that all gold mining income would go directly to the country’s monarchy, economic hardship in the previous century forced Knyaz Viktor II Rucheyski to sell large parts of the company, and the succeeding monarchs have been slowly purchasing what was lost back then.
This unprecedented control of the Visrodin Crown over gold mining all over Visrodin has always been an objective of the monarchy, as having a large gold income and large gold reserves allow the country to prosper economically as long as it’s managed correctly.

The Miradi Air Force has started dropping leaflets on small towns and cities that inhabit the areas controlled by the Jakuri Liberation Movement (JLM) to immediately evacuate the area. The conflict has been at a stalemate for over a month now, and it seems as if it’s going to escalate heavily. The Miradi MoD has commented on the matter stating that “We will put an end to terrorism in our lands. The illegitimate JLM group has been terrorizing our nation for years, and it’s time to put an end to it. We warn all citizens living in JLM-controlled areas to evacuate immediately to safer areas.”
Context
The Jakuri Liberation Movement (JLM) is a separatist faction seeking to establish a independent Jakuri state. Fighting in the region has been going on for around a decade. The JLM’s attacks mostly consist of guerilla fighting, ambushes, and other domestic terrorism-related attacks.

An explosion has occurred in Gafsred, Remetulls, Sedunn. According to local media, the explosion was large and impacted the city’s cargo terminal. There is also a fire at the same location. Sedunnic authorities are treating it as a terrorist attack and have urged local residents to stay clear of the ports and public areas. This is a developing story.

The Pelinese Ministry of Civil Defense and Ministry of Internal Affairs have announced a routine rotation of units assigned to various joint operations programs with the Bailtemmic Cooperation Organization, covering both personnel and vessels. The reshuffling entails:
- Rotation of Pelinese civil defense units assigned to the BCO’s joint disaster response force, including both the civil defense engineer battalion and the squadron of firefighting aircraft.

Several Explosions reported all around Nationalist-occupied Termina as Kliegme utilised a vast majority of its air force to conduct precision airstrikes and bombings of supply hubs and key infrastructure connected to Nationalist aligned cities. In Vermillion, following a rejected ultimatum for surrender, a Bunker-Buster Bomb was deployed to cut off the tunnel infrastructure. The Kliegmean Air Force also striked the Anti-Air Network in the Northern Nationalist Area.
Kliegmean MFA and MoD stated in a joint statement that Operation 220731 was conducted as an appropriate response to the Nationalist Terrorist attack on Yatagaras which took the lives of 48 people and 21 terrorists.
While confirmed damage alone would be devastating for the nationalists’ ability to continue fighting, it is not confirmed if all targets of Operation 220731 were decimated.
Analysts believe that while it is true that this attack was carried out as a punitive measure towards Nationalist attacks against Kliegmean Children, it also doubles to intimidate against any further attempts to cause such attacks.

The USI makes a point of saying that the Izaakia backed Southern Terminan Provisional Government seems to be accepting defections from city states from all sides, and that I might be advisable to defect to a strong and stable side rather than be on the receiving end of CE airstrikes or Nationalist military strikes.
