The Vrignian Minister of Foreign Relations, Alexandra Shinser, has stated that Vrigny has no intentions to remove sanctions from the United Empire of Akarina, due to its undemocratic and authoritarian leadership, as well as its recent actions against LGBTQ individuals and reiterated threats against its neighbor countries.
Despite this, Shinser supports the calls for de-escalation from other countries, stating that “the human lives that could be lost in such a conflict are a price that shouldn’t be paid to ‘fix’ Akarina’s government”.

Critics have called the Prime Minister to step down, stating that he is too young to meet the responsibility of the office. Prime Minister Walton responded, calling complaints ‘rubbish’ and reminding critics that he’s not the youngest-ever Prime Minister.
Rumours are circling that Deputy Prime Minister Garcia is considering moving to Amberholde. The Deputy Prime Minister has yet to comment on rumours. Prime Minister Walton said he was not aware of personal considerations the Deputy Prime Minister was making and that he would not be seeking any clarification from him but he said that if the Deputy Prime Minister does decide to move, the ordinary procedure is for the Deputy Prime Minister to resign his office, resign his seat and to trigger a by-election. He said the terms of the Government’s agreement are untouched and that the new Leader would be warmly welcomed and assigned Deputy Prime Minister, resuming his duties in his place.
Critics accuse the Prime Minister of supporting Amberholde in their search for a new Prime Minister. Prime Minister Walton told such critics to ‘grow up’.
Mister Speaker Philip Horn has described the incoming crisis as chaos for Parliament. Prime Minister Walton has denied that there is chaos at all.

Montwælda Rombold to resume the presidency following his appendix surgery. He will largely be confined to desk work for the next week or two and remain in Brodlancia as he fully recovers. He’s been quoted as saying, “If I spend anymore time in bed, I’ll go insane”.

Ikaranara and Losavra have both confirmed that any unprovoked aggression against Past will be “Treated with the same severity as if the attack was into their own sovereign territory.” The Ikaranarean Defense Minister, however, has stated that “The chance of offensive operations into our ally Past seems unlikely… We do not exactly trust Akarinan claims that this mobilization is ‘defensive’ but conducting offensive operations with all of the international pressure currently on Akarina would be suicidal.” He did say, however, that Ikaranara was “monitoring the situation closely” and was “deeply considering” the temporary relocation of some military forces into Past to further deter Akarinan attacks.
In other news, top Ikaranarean economists are scheduled to visit Past today to advise the Pasten government on international trade. Past has been rapidly industrializing as of late, but since most of the South Pacific is self-sufficient in terms of manufacturing, Past sees it as imperative to find a niche that works in that regard. The Ikaranarean Defense Ministry has also expressed some interest in outsourcing the building of some materiel to Past.

President Anneliese Bow has stated her intention of arranging a meeting either between herself and USI’s Montwælda Rombold, or both country’s foreign ministers in order to determine any possible treaties or diplomatic pacts between Vrigny and their neighbor country. This is planned to occur, of course, when the Montwælda has fully recovered from his procedure.
The President has added that: “this would only be the first step to develop Vrigny’s relatively poor diplomacy (due to the Stratocracy’s isolationism) and to establish favorable economical, political and varied alliances and pacts with countries all over Pacifica.”

Montwælda Rombold sends thanks to President Inneinn, King Keanu and all his other well wishers. He thanked his doctors and nurses at the hospital, thanked his family for helping him to recover, and thanked Acting President Hamilton for keeping the ship steady.
Montwælda Rombold also said that his brush with mortality has put life into perspective, and brought clarity to his vision of Izaakias future, a future that both retains tradition, and embraces the bold and innovative. He said part of that future is re-engaging with old partners such as Sedunn, and building strong new bonds with nations like Vrigny.

The Gianlucian foreign ministry has reassured, that recently gathered intelligence as well as talks with the Akarinian ambassador have reassured, that the military buildups near Eflad and Past are - in fact - solely defensive. “Of course we also tried explaining the very understandable reaction in this region to this buildup and urged the Akarinian government to overthink their decision to reinforce their troops on their borders”, foreign minister Strunk noted.
Asked about the sanctions against Akarina and the presumed feeling of unfairness, that other countries react harshly to closed airspaces, Strunk commented: “We will not lift our sanctions, because the usage of nuclear weapons cannot and should not be easily forgiven. We still keep our diplomatic channels open. (…) A free airspace is a small, yet in no way insignificant cornerstone, which builds trust between nations. I find it hard to believe, the Akarinian government is unaware of that and am positive, they will revert their decision in the near future.”

The 4th & 5th Nakano class nuclear battleships IAN Müller, and IAN Hayashi have been commissioned as part of the Akarinan military mobilization. The Navy has also just started production of napalm HE rounds designed specifically for the Nakano class’s 45.72cm main guns.
The tests for the napalm rounds were successful.

Montwælda Rombold, Vice President Hamilton and Leader of the Opposition Boulangerie make an announcement that they are going to restore the constitutional role of the monarchy, following through on an agreement set up by Ex-Montwælda Storm.
Montwælda Rombold described his change of heart on the matter as due to his illness, and how he reflected that there would be nobody who could remove him from power if he were permanently ill or became corrupted. He said a neutral constitutional monarch can provide a stabilising effect on the politics of a nation, as Empress Astrid herself exemplified by both ousting LeRogue, and by restoring democracy and the republic following the slaughterhouse massacre.
A formal ceremony will be performed to restore the monarchy once the bill has been passed by a super majority in parliament.

A RLP-DC6 train carrying nuclear waste, and crude oil derailed at Sikal Viy at 7:05 AM Local Time, within a 30 miles radius of the derailment site have been evacuated by the Sikal Viy Regional Police, and San Marsico National Guard. Currently the air within 3 miles of the derailment site has been deemed radioactive. Any international aid will be appreciated.

The Besernian Armed Forces have offered to send CBRN officers from the Besernian Army and the Strategic Command, potassium iodide tablets, and manpower and supplies in case of an evacuation of the surrounding area to further areas in San Marsico.

All trains passing through Sikal Viy have been delayed “until further notice” or cancelled, any flights near the site have been rerouted, and any vehicle traffic has been stopped.
