The National Health Service buys 120 heavy cargo drones from Brodlancian start-up Claro Industries. The drones can transport up to 50km with a cargo of 50kg in poor weather, and has an option for refrigeration. The NHS believes the drones will help aid the movement of medicines and organs for transplant, particularly around the heavily congested cities of New Mako-Izaakston and La Citadelle. The drones are also expected to be useful in supplying remote regions with medicines during disaster emergencies when roads and other means of transport may be out of use.

Izaakian 16 year old Jessie Blossom sets off on a solo unassisted circumnavigation of the world under the New Mako Rules with the aim of becoming the youngest person to do so. Under the New Mako rules the voyage must pass either North of Bailtem and South of Cordillia through the Gulf of Good Omen, or South of Bareland through the cold gates and north of Cordillia. Additionally the circumnavigation must cross the equator, be longer than 21,600 nautical miles and at no point must she enter port or exchange provisions. Other parties and independents currently stand at a combined 25%, meaning that the splintering of the first-preference vote observed over the last elections appears to continue, this year additionally spurred on by the record number of candidates on the ballot.
