Members of the Frost Opposition, Reizeners, and several prominent imperialist politicians have joined hands to firmly condemn the Kliegmean expansion of a bill the Empire considers “barbaric and regressive”. The coalition has demanded that the Empire lobby its CE allies to condemn Kliegme for actions that violate the spirit of the Entente.

The Ryccian government has refused to comment on developments in Kliegme. However, senior political figures from across the Ryccian political spectrum, including some cabinet ministers, have been highly critical of the Kliegman Duma’s actions, deeming them “unacceptable, regressive and ill-conceived”. Several high-profile Ryccian lawmakers have pressed the government to formally condemn the Duma for “undermining the basic virtue of equality and infringing on the basic civil liberties of its citizens”, but sources indicate the Foreign Ministry is wary of issuing such statements, believing that maintaining cordial relations with Kliegme is important for any future international peacekeeping effort in the constant fighting between NAGB and Romordia.

The rhaynan prytanis has criticized the decision in Kliegme, quoting, “aside from the retrograde nature of such a law, applying formerly military laws on the rest of the population just sounds against the civil freedom of the people. A government should not stablish how someone must show themselves with the threat of cutting them from their right to work. The job of a government is defending its people, not leaving them homeless.”

Prominent government officials from all three indavral nations have privately condemned Kliegme’s “Don’t ask, Don’t Tell” policy. Indavral culture has always prohibited discrimination on “Grounds other than moral” since the writing of the Vbara, and so Indavral nations have been internally accepting of modern LGBTQ people- However, those in the upper echelon of government have not commented, as they are “preoccupied with greater tasks.” particularly in Losavra. Vice President Lando Hamilton describes the “Don’t Ask Don’t Tell” policy as “fair enough, there’s no place for a persons private life in the work environment” however described the prohibition of openly LGBT people in their armed forces and public services as “shockingly regressive for a nation in the bastion of liberty and democracy that is CE”, going on to say, “LGBT citizens of Kliegme who wish to serve in the Izaakian armed forces Foreign Legion are more than welcome, and can gain citizenship in a country that doesn’t discriminate against them following honourable discharge after 3 years”.

President Antoni Piast commented on Kligme’s “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” policy. He said that “people should have the right to openly tell who they are and the government should have no say in this matter”. Detroxiam military has followed a policy of equality between its members, regardless of their gender, sexuality or nationality for over 20 years. At the end the president asked “the system of equality works just fine in our military, why shouldn’t it work in yours?”

The Jakubian Ministry of Foreign Affairs announced that they will host the Romordian Government in Exile in the event of the event that the NAGB’s invasion of Romordia succeeds.
When asked about the recent situation in Kliegme, Vice President Carterski stated, “There is no reason this intergovernmental policy should be gaining so much international attention. The only logical reason somebody as high up and with so much responsibility as a world leader would publically object to the policy to because they wish to oppose the nation itself.”

The Weissersteiner government has not commented regarding the expansion of the “Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell” in Kliegme. However, a political commentator has stated that “the (Weissersteiner) government technically agrees in principle to the (Don’t Ask, Don’t Tell) policy in Kliegme, and it can’t be denied that we have similar laws here, and the government isn’t removing them anytime soon.”
In other news, the Weissersteiner Reichspolizei has launched a raid on the “Communal Church of the Peoples of God”, a new religious movement whose Weissersteiner branch is based in Brischau, after it was suspected that the group harbors radicals within their. However others believe this raid occured in part because of the group’s “cult-like status” and because Weisserstein’s consistently hostile actions on new religious movements in the Kaiserreich.

Regarding the Controversy surrounding Kliegme’s decision to expand the “don’t ask, don’t tell” bill, the The Strelna has released a statement.
“The Duma, and by extension the Kliegmean people who have elected the members of the Duma has made a democratic decision, after careful consideration and deliberation. While we understand the reasoning behind nations and organisations who disagree with our policies to voicing their objections, the Kliegmean law is legislated by the Kliegmean Duma, not foreign embassies. However, that does not excuse us from making an elaboration on the policy itself. Like the military, the public service is not an organisation in which politics may cause division and internal conflict. Those who “ask” and harass a fellow public servant over personal affairs are to be punished accordingly, be it via disciplinary action or a punitive pay cut. Those who “tell”, and instigate conflict within the workspace via their personal affairs, are to be as equally punished as the former. When the Duma expanded this bill, it has made sure to add several clauses so that equality and justice is enshrined. Kliegmean values of individual liberty flourishing within a community of fraternity is sacrosanct. The individual person, with their intellect, responsibilities, and value, have an indisputable set of rights given by God. However, the values of the community, of Harmony and Compromise hold equal importance. We understand misunderstandings that have happened due to this. Our beliefs and values formed as a result of history, a result of 2 civilizations uniting as 1. The policy, codified and legitimate, will be respected and enforced by the Government of Kliegme.”

The Kliegmean ambassador, called over to recieve what is believed to be official condemnation from the Imperial government, has explained his nation’s policy. After the temperature in the room cooled down after some time, the ambassador has reiterated both his government’s support for the Empire in the conflict, and the proposal for the officials of Frost and the DPRR to meet in a 3rd party to the confliict so that a potential de-escalation via diplomatic means can be arranged.

As the peak summer tourism seasons approaches Keanu and Hurley announces a list of Islands and Resorts that will be open for the season. The list includes most major islands and resorts, however the Attenborough and Cousteau Barrier island chains, Anui and Mariposa will remain off limits, as there is still significant damage to buildings and infrastructure.
