CHRW: ‘Okhoa Coastal Patrol Harasses, Sinks Refugee Ship; 26 dead, Dozens Missing’

Gulf of Good Omen— The Cordilian Human Rights Watch (CHRW) has accused the Okhoa Coastal Patrol of intentionally sailing too close to a distressed vessel carrying Zuhlgani refugees from Southern Krauanagaz, causing the vessel to capsize. The CHRW claims the patrol then failed to provide aid, leading to multiple casualties.

The refugee boat, carrying over 50 Zuhlgani civilians fleeing violence in Zuhlgan, capsized after the Okhoa Coastal Patrol allegedly approached at high speed, creating dangerous waves. Survivors report that the patrol did not attempt to rescue those in the water, leaving many to drown. At least 26 deaths have been confirmed, with dozens more missing.

The Okhoa Regional Council has denied the allegations, claiming the patrol was conducting a routine operation and did not realize the vessel was in distress. They have promised an investigation but face growing skepticism amid ongoing civil unrest.

Krauanagaz has condemned the incident, calling it, “a tragic example of the humanitarian crisis caused by Zuhlgan’s aggression.” Secretary of State Darius Korin urged the World Forum to intervene.

Zuhlgan has accused Okhoa of, “deliberate cruelty,” and demanded accountability. Zuhlgani officials have called for an investigation into the incident and are reportedly considering revoking the lease for the Okhoa Coastal Patrol’s ships.
