BISCO Says Cargo Ship Attacked by Red K Militants in Gulf of Good Omen


According to a statement issued Sunday by Barrier Islands Shipping Co. (BISCO), one of their cargo vessels, KFS Arka II, successfully thwarted a pirate attack in the Gulf of Good Omen. According to BISCO officials, armed assailants in high-speed boats attempted to board the ship, but the crew’s swift response and activation of advanced anti-piracy measures ensured the attackers were repelled, with minimal damage to the vessel and no injuries reported. In the statement, Barrier Islands Shipping Co. expressed gratitude for the crew’s effective handling of the situation and emphasized their ongoing commitment to safety. A company spokesperson stated, “Our crew’s training and the efficiency of our security measures played a crucial role in preventing a potentially dangerous situation.”

Captain Elena Navarre, chief of the Barrier Sounds Coastal Patrol, commented on the incident saying, “The crew’s preparedness and the successful repulsion of the attack highlights the importance of robust anti-piracy measures in these waters. We are continuing to monitor and enhance security protocols to ensure the safety of domestic and international maritime traffic.”
