Presidential Candidates Finalized

The National Election Commission of New Altnavia has announced the final four candidates for the highest seat in the nation, the president.
Candidate number 1 — Prime Minister James Caliderei Pelidi (aged 63) is the official presidential candidate for Afeio Ramaedtra Altineivio (ARA; First Democratic Altineivio), which has been the ruling party since 2013. With the current administration receiving approval ratings of over 60%, Pelidi is the most likely to be elected.
Candidate Number 2 — Governor Richard Palaun Kaleidi (aged 71), current Governor of Nodeiso, is the official presidential candidate for Alisi Kajarii Invio (AKI; New Society Party), winning the party’s primary by an outstanding 93.9% of votes. As a former Minister of Economy, he is widely praised for his successful economic policies during the early 2000s, even called ‘the most skilled in economy after former PM Doedeirio Vaepandei’. He is also famous for his successful policies as Governor of Nodeiso (2025-) and Mayor of Ledeili (2009-2025). Kaleidi has the potential to score higher than PM Pelidi and win the race.
Candidate Number 5 — Legislator William Asetae Caduruiti (aged 39) is the official candidate for the Ijayo Hachebele Invio (IHI; Next Forwards Party). Aged 39, he is the youngest candidate to run for president in this election. Caduruiti and his party has repeatedly stated that they will not support ARA, unlike the nation’s fourth largest political party.
Candidate number 6 — Dr. David Jovhaneison Thohaile (aged 57) is the official candidate for The Central Movement. Both Thohaile and his party are known for condemning many actions by the two largest parties of the country.
Caduruiti and Thohaile have been given the numbers 5 and 6 instead of 3 and 4 because, by law, the first few numbers are given to the political parties with at least 3 seats in the current National Assembly. There are four political parties (ARA, AKI, HFI and ZMI) that satisfy this requirement. HFI and ZMI have declared their support for AKI and ARA respectively, leading to the numbers 3 and 4 not being used in this presidential election.
The Election Day will be Friday, the 14th of August 2026. During the about one month long campaign period before, candidates will travel around the nation, rallying for support.
