President Ideipi’s Birthday
Posted 2024/7/25, By Michael Yizima

President Christopher Semili Ideipi has turned 72 years old today. This morning, he showed up on the streets of Noveopolis, where the citizens greeted him with flowers and congratulated his birthday. Some citizens had also prepared a special present for him. “The celebrations on the streets were unexpected,” the president said in an interview later on in the day, “but they were wonderful. Thanks to everybody.”

Portrait of President Christopher Semili Ideipi

President Ideipi was born in rural Ineopbi, near the famous Mt. Ineopbi in 1952. His family was poor, but he managed to succeed a few years after he had started a business in Noveopolis. He started politics in 2003, when the nation was under the rule of King Laleikiya (April 1911~August 2022. Was king 1978-2022). Because the king passed away with no successor and citizens wanted a republic instead of a kingdom, the Democratic Republic of New Altnavia was founded the month after the king’s death. The first presidential election was done in late September and Mr. Ideipi was elected.

Special Article: Two Years Since King Laleikiya’s Death
Posted 2024/8/19, By Serter Delling

Exactly two years ago, his majesty the late King Laleikiya Isiakzanzo (1911.04.02 ~ 2022.08.19) passed away without a successor, marking the end of the Altineivio Kingdom that lasted from 1954 to 2022.

King Laleikiya Isiakzanzo (portrait drawn 2016)

King Laleikiya was born in rural Hurudeifa in 1911, 6 years after the Balnoveiro and Silivo Kingdoms fell to Gailimai Derisli who was a president and dictator of the Republic of New Pacicaya (1905 ~ 1954). The royal family was hated by the presidents of New Pacicaya, so they had to become farmers in the countryside.

When the Great Revolution of 1954 by angry citizens succeeded, the Balnoveirian royal family returned to the palace and former prince Isilikeia was crowned king of Altineivio Kingdom. When King Isilikeia passed away in 1978, Prince Laleikiya became king at the age of 67. He let the citizens vote a prime minister from 1981 and helped develop the nation during his 44 year long rule. His wife, son, cousins and siblings all died before him, leaving him with no successor. Because the King didn’t want the kingdom to continue and the percentage of people wanting a new republic increased, New Altnavia was founded a month after King Laleikiya’s death.

We, at Pacicaya Today, went into the streets of many cities and towns around the nation today to interview people about their thoughts on King Laleikiya.

“I believe he was sent by god, he lived so long, was so generous, so kind to the people. I’m sure he went to heaven.” (a 84 year old citizen in rural Ineopbi)

”His voice was gentle and he always had a smile on his face. He knew many jokes. I always liked it when I was invited to his room.” (Prime Minister James Caliderei Pelidi)

“At the end of the year, he would come to us to hand out presents to us. I still have that little gift he gave.” (former orphanage resident)

We surveyed 12,000 people around the nation about King Laleikiya, and over 95% of them replied that they like him.

New Altnavian Maps to Change
Posted 2024/9/20, By Kodian Deleivi

The President announced today that a mountain range, a province and the sea of New Altnavia will be renamed soon and the plans were submitted to the Pacifica map-related officials. Let’s look at the details.

First of all, the province Sudu Capitalia will be renamed into Donuidicia. The government stated that the reasons for this is because neither Sudu or Capitalia is a word from our languages and to reduce confusion between Sudu Capitalia and Capitalia in Andrendia. Donuidicia, the new name, is a combination of Donuicia and Ineodicia. Donuicia and Ineodicia were the names of kingdoms that existed in the region hundreds of years ago. A similar name can be found in the province right next to Sudu Capitalia, which is Ineopbi. Ineopbi is a combination of Ineodicia and Deceipbi.

Second of all, the current Pacicaya Sea, Luxedaia Sea and Nodeiso Sea will be combined into Altineivio Sea. This will make it more simple than before, as the boundaries of the three seas are not clear.

Last of all, Pacicaya Range will be renamed into either North Bailtem Range or Neivio Range. This is because Pacicaya is a name of a specific ethnic group and the mountain range is shared by many nations. Another reason is that there are other large ethnic groups in New Altnavia. In contrast, the name of Pacicaya River has been decided to be kept.

There have also been plans to rename Noveopolis into Noveodorea, which was the city’s name before 1905. In 1905, Gailimai Derisli, who was a president and dictator renamed the city to make it feel more ‘modern’. However, the government did not accept this plan. There are currently no plans to rename Noveopolis.

It is expected that this decision will have a good effect in many ways. Although a lot of money will be used in order to change the maps in the nation, it is believed that this decision is very necessary for the better.

Former Prime Minister Celebrates 90th Birthday
Posted 2024/10/12, By Geoff Yizima

Former Prime Minister Dr. Doedeirio Vaepandei has turned 90 years old today. President Ideipi and Prime Minister Pelidi said today that they ‘congratulate Dr. Vaepandei’s 90th birthday and thank him for his great work’. Dr. Vaepandei is the oldest former national leader alive, with the second oldest former national leader being 84 years old. Although Dr. Vaepandei is quite old, his family said today that ‘he is still very healthy, just like how he was half a century ago and he even jogged by the sea this morning’.

Dr. Doedeirio Vaepandei

Dr. Vaepandei was born in 1934 to a middle-class family in Sudu Capitalia, which is Donuidicia today. He earned a PhD in economics at the University of Noveopolis in 1960. He also founded a company, which was later sold to a massive electronic-manufacturing company in the late 1960s. He then entered politics and soon started to work as a congress member and a party leader for several years, until he was elected to be the second prime minister of Altineivio Kingdom in 1985. He was re-elected in 1989. Dr. Vaepandei ran for PM again in 1993. However, he received 48.9% of the votes while his main opponent received 49.4% and didn’t manage to be elected. He worked as the Minister of Economics and a party’s leader until his retirement from politics in 2009. After working another several years as a university professor, he finally retired in 2017 and from then he lives in his hometown, a seaside Donuidician village.

Honouring his excellent work in the economic development of Altineivio Kingdom, he was awarded the King Laleikiya Royal Medal in 2013.

This afternoon, Dr. Vaepandei replied to the messages he has gotten in an interview. He said, “Thank you all very much for the messages and your role in the development of our beautiful nation. May our nation continue to prosper.”

Fatal Explosion on Highway Kills 22
Posted 2024/10/13, By Kosjian Dealter

BREAKING- A quiet morning was interrupted by a large explosion sound in western Luxeiligalia. The Donuidician Regional Office of Roads and Transportation (DRORT) confirmed that seven vehicles were destroyed and 22 people were killed in an accident this morning near Kostenili Interchange that happened at 8:42.

Police immediately began investigating the fatal accident and announced the reasons for the accident and how it happened. Let’s take a look at the report.

According to the police, a sedan driving at speeds up to 167 kilometers per hour was on the highway from 8:34, putting many people in danger. The car barely missed a pickup truck at 8:40, but did not drive slower. 2 minutes later, the car hit a truck that was full of petroleum at a speed of 160km/h. This immediately made the truck explode, and it is thought that the drivers of the truck and sedan were immediately killed. The massive explosion affected 4 SUVs and 1 bus, which were carrying a total of 23 people. 6 survived the accident and was immediately taken to the Central Hospital of Luxeiligalia. However, 2 did not make it to the hospital and 1 died during treatment.

It has been reported that the passengers in the bus were high school students, who were returning home from a trip. The high school located in Port Ineopbi held a massive funeral for the students and the driver. It has been told that the funeral was ‘filled with cries and tears, also flowers and food for the lost ones’.

At 11 am, President Ideipi said “We are very sorry for the victims and their families of this tragedy. We will continue to investigate on this event, and we will enforce the speed limits stronger than before.”

Kostenili Disaster Might Not Have Been Intentional Murder, Says Police
Posted 2024/10/26, By Kotedian Helewter

The New Altnavian National Police has announced this morning that the recent Kostenili accident is likely to not have been intentional murder after 13 days of investigation. The police have recovered a short recording of the inside of the car that had been overspeeding which showed that the driver was very frantic as the car travelled at speeds up to 167 km/h. Also, the driver of another car that barely missed the accident explained to the police that “the car (that was overspeeding)’s windows were opened as it passed my car. I heard the driver screaming for help while swerving between the cars”. It has also been told that the overspeeding car’s driver was a veteran bus driver who was ‘very skilled and loved to spend time with his children’.

KeleNeivi Motors, the manufacturer of the car also participated in the investigation. The company announced today “it is very likely that the accident happened because of a problem in the car’s brakes, and we are preparing to compensate for the tragic event”.

Meanwhile, it has been told that the three survivors of the event currently alive are recovering well, relieving many.

Posted 2024/11/26, By Gwolia Debveri

The New Altnavian ministry of defense has revealed a new ballistic missile to the public, along with many other weapons earlier today during the National Army Day Parade in Noveopolis. 4,300 military personnel, 262 military vehicles, 35 aircraft and 6 ships participated in the event. Among the new military equipment revealed, there were also the new YH-4D tanks and the new surface-to-air ‘Velupeil-VI’ missile.

Cosmofire-3a missile being fired from West Donuidicia Miltary Base

What drew the most attention was the new ballistic missile named Cosmofire-3a. According to information from the ministry of defense, the missile can hit targets within a 900 kilometer distance from the launch point with its maximum warhead weight of 4.8 tonnes. If the warhead’s weight is reduced, the missile can hit targets as far away as 6,000 kilometers. It has been told that the missile can reach altitudes of 1,300 kilometers before plummeting down at the target. The ministry of defense also informed that the missile launched from West Donuidicia Military Base (photo above) successfully hit its target with high accuracy in Viruidi Island.

The new missile will be operational from early 2025 in the army. It is expected that the missile will play a major role if New Altnavia participates in a war in the future.

Mr. Thomas Crarekeilo Bhfedeide, former chairman of PodFoero (80 years old)

We at Pacicaya Today managed to call the former chairman of PodFoero and have a short interview.

Q: Is it true that you designed the building yourself?
A: Well, yes…… Mostly. I personally did about 80 percent of it I guess?
Q: From when did you want to build this building and why did you want to?
A: I wanted to build something that has modern traits and at the same time shows our culture and nature ever since I was… a teenager.
Q: How do you feel about the approval of the plan?
A: When I first heard the news I was resting on my couch. I immediately wanted to stand up and dance… only if my legs were still strong. I am still really happy that the building can finally be built.
Q: What wishes do you have?
A: Well, I have a few. I hope I can see the completed tower before I leave, I hope that the nation prospers, I hope that the nation will continue to be in peace.
