Foreign Update from the Empire of Great Britain
The Empire of Great Britain celebrated Unification Day on 28 July. Unification Day commemorates the Treaty of Union which united the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland (i.e. England, Scotland, Wales, and Ireland) with the Dominions of Canada, Australia, and New Zealand to create the Empire of Great Britain. Citizens celebrated at the Sixth Annual Unification Day Festival which was opened with speeches from HM King Charles III, HRH the Prince of Wales, the then Prime Minister the Rt. Hon. Baroness Wilton, and the Master of Ceromonies, the Hon. Noah de Carteret, Secretary of State for Cutlure, Media, and Sport. New coinage featuring the King’s portrait was also unveiled. People enjoyed the festivities and partook in various cultural traditions from the many nations of the Empire.

On 2 August 2024, after the resignation of the Rt. Hon. Baroness Wilton, His Grace the Duke of Warwick accepted the King’s invitation to form a government and, thereby, became the new Prime Minister. The Duke was chosen as the new leader of the Unionist Party, but he has served as Prime Minister four times previously. In the speech marking his assumption of office, the new Prime Minister promised to bolster the economy, enhance public services, strengthen foreign relations, boost the domestic scene, and maintain a transparent, responsive, and accountable government. He also invited the members of the opposition to an ongoing, constructive dialogue and to work together for the benefit of all citizens

Hello to the wider world. I felt like this update was the perfect place to publicly and to all our relations thank Owain Carew-Grey, the outgoing FA secretary for his work and service as the longest continuous serving FA sec in EoGB history. I’m sure many of you have interacted with him over the last year and I’m sure you’ll join me in wishing him well in the future to come.
