Yippe

I hereby nominate @Vrigny as Deputy Minister of Defense with the following responsibilities:

To maintain the SPSF both administratively and through the recruitment and engagement of new members, to grow the active core of frequent updaters, to build and maintain SPSF infrastructure, and facilitate military events and projects.

I am appointing Vrigny as a Deputy Minister in the same way I appointed Tin. I intend for Vrigny to be Assembly-confirmed and to wield the full powers of a Minister.

Vrigny has been working on a number of SPSF projects as a member of the SPSF Officer Corps and a member of the Admiralty, and I am appointing him as Minister in order to give more ready access to the executive tools wielded by Ministers so as to further facilitate those projects. As compared to Heliseum’s responsibilities as Minister of Defense, I’m intending for Vrigny to be tackling more administrative and structural projects, rather than being in the more leadership-leaning role I appointed Heliseum to. While there is a certain amount of overlap, Heliseum and Vrigny have different sets of responsibilities as Minister of Defense and Deputy Minister of Defense. I do not intend to dismiss Heliseum as Minister of Defense, and this appointment is independent of Heliseum’s recent break.

Vrigny has always been, in the entire time I have had the pleasure of knowing him, a superb administrator for the SPSF. He is organized, enthusiastic, and a mighty wielder of spreadsheets. He was instrumental to me in clearing the application backlog several terms back, and quite literally wrote our general guidelines for doing so. For whatever it may be worth, I look forward to working with Vrigny in this capacity, consider him more than qualified, and urge the Assembly to confirm him when the time comes.

What are these tools?

More ready access to RO powers, access to government nations, ability to make announcements on discord, access to the cabinet channels for better coordination, the general perception of authority being a minister gives, etc. Most of it doesn’t require being a Minister per se, but if someone needs frequent access or more autonomy, I feel it’s better to be an assembly-confirmed Minister.

I move that we proceed to a vote on @Vrigny’s nomination.

I second Vrigny’s nomination to vote

There being a motion and a second, this measure will be brought to a vote 2026-03-09T17:00:00Z.
