The nature of the ending means that wouldn’t be likely, unfortunately
Well then, thanks for letting me know. Perhaps we’ll have to resort to a dedicated RP, if you guys - the members of the CoF, I mean - are willing to do so.
But we’ll see, I guess.
Basically in the time before the Transmutation was (re)discovered the Twila were dependant on the Old Kind’s null stockpiles to survive. Once it became clear those stockpiles were running out the 1st Twilight Ascendancy was dissolved into Aesis and a multitude of autonomous system-states. During the Chemical Wars Arc’hana would essentially rise as the “favored son” of Aesis and it began to view itself as the successors of the Alchemists (more on them in the next Encylopedia post). A string of military losses would lead to mass paranoia around the dresk which culminated in an attemoted genocide.
In contemporary times Arc’hana has changed a lot and still carries immense guilt for what it did, while the (new) Alchemists would be those humiliated by their nation’s defeat, maintaining the old culture across the millennia. By 0 ABT they have reformed enough to receive widespread legitimacy outside of Drellun but have also been secretly corrupted into followers of the Old Kind
I still refuse to RP with you.
Well, there sure is no way to be clearer about something!
I’ve been thinking about Let It All Burn Away (my Colonus Pact murder mystery event) recently and I think I’m finally ready to give it another try. All the characters would be participant-made Twila and rather than being an actual rper I’d take up the narrator spot. I don’t know, I have some ideas for this but I’d like to guage people’s interest first
I’d probably have to read a little more about the Ascendancy in detail so I can make a proper character, but yeah, I’d be interested in giving it a try. ^^ Maybe make a separate post with more info on the event, as well as a poll asking people if they’d be interested. Could be good for advertising it.
Voidsea war after da big wun soon
details soon
Woah, really? Awesome!
I think I want to try and draw representations for the 3 “archetypes” first to give people a better idea of what they’re broadly like
Demon hunt probably this summer
CONSTRUCTION UNITS OF THE CONFLUENCE
As part of the first contact negotiations, vast teams of Confluent construction robotic units are currenly being utilized in the Republic of United Worlds to aid in various construction projects and reconstruction efforts. Here is a sampler of some such units, that one might see while visiting a world of the Republic.
ABIEMENSE
Central coordinative and planning units that interact with local systems and exchange information with other construction sites. Allow commissioners of construction bot teams to directly input schematics, designs, preferences and all necessary information into the shared informational matrix. |
FORECRES
Self-accreting nanoforges and molecular assemblers that extend root-like transport canals towards provided (or available) resource deposits to create a centralized assembly hub. Can also reconfigure themselves to produce other construction units if needed, but are best suited for non AItrophic components. |
DOCHODED
Vacuumborne units used for orbital and deep-space construction. Use a small monopole-catalyzed fusion reactor for power and propulsion. Possess dozens of long, precise and extendable arms capable of assembling and welding even microscale components. |
GRAMATU
Use forcefields to transport components to other units. Almost always carry out their functions in at least pairs or trios, and collaborate directly with Forecres assembler units to transport what they produce to the construction site proper. |
RAEMIBRACH
Hybrid atmosphere-vacuum drones capable of reconfiguring their appendages and non-core systems thanks to the widespread use of reconfigurable matter nanomodules in their structure. Usually employed when multiple functions are needed in short succession, but are spared higher-load tasks due to their lessened strength. |
THORMIDEROC
“Technician” units capable of peforming comprehensive on-site scans and diagnostics. Utilize their soft structure and highly-reconfigurable shells to move through otherwise impaired areas. Resist very well under both temperature extremes, and perform well even under enormous environmental pressure. |
GELABOR
Small-scale assembly and maintenance units with highly adaptable appendages and a versatile forcefield projector. Most often tasked with small repairs and assembly tasks. |
NINVEH
Very large units most often employed in orbital construction, acting as temporary structural support between structures and as a mobile operative base for smaller units in certain situations. Possess enormously powerful forcefield-augmented pneumatic arms. |
SAPHARODOR
Specialized welding units, outfitted with forcefield-harmonious lasers and kinetic-wall projectors that can fuse and weld materials with extreme precision. Often employed in the assembly of volatile or dangerous materials and components. |
PILACCO
General cleaning, maintenance and decoration gelbots, used to keep construction sites tidy and apply decorative elements like paint and other installments. |
FALICOVA
Large, cargo unit/planes utilized for transporting units incapable of flight, non-assemblable materials and special components. Can fly at supersonic speeds, and use a special forcefield system to dispel their sonic boom. |
SECHENHOFF
Large forcefield projector units tasked with extracting, gathering and relocating materials and resources to the construction site. As an example, each Sechenhoff unit can lift up to 500.000 cubic meters of water - visually speaking, a spherical volume roughly 80/100 meters in diameter. Like Gramatus, Sechenhoffs collaborate directly with Forecres assemblers to provide them necessary materials if no resources are locally available or are insufficient. |
Sir this is a Wendy’s
that is what low hanging fruit is for
And I am simply posting a photo of the menu.

ranks of the big three (currently only compact navy and marine corps)
The Compact enforces mandatory service
Your 2 Years of Mandatory Service, broken down!
Who Must Serve
- Citizens
- Permanent Non-Citizen Residents
- Any Non-Citizen Resident staying longer than 10 years
When Must You Serve
- If a Citizen
-
- If not going to college: Immediately (18)
-
- If going to college: Delayable to the persons 28th birthday*
- if a Permanent Non-Citizen Resident or Non-Citizen Resident**
-
- If not going to college: Immediately (18)
-
- If going to college: Delayable to the persons 28th birthday*
-
- If older than 28: Immediately
*waivers exist for those undergoing professional or doctorate degrees, so long as they are enrolled in a Reserve Officer Training Program or Warrant Officer Training Program
**During the enlistment process, if a Permanent Non-Citizen Resident or Non-Citizen Resident wishes to become a citizen in the Vandalence Compact, additional paperwork may be filed
Reasons a Person is Unable Serve
- Being a Conscientious objector
-
- Conscientious objectors are assigned to other positions in the government, often the in the Directorate of Natural Resources & Space Development or in the Directorate of Energy’s Fission/Fusion Plants.
- Condition from Birth
-
- Persons with Issues arising Prior to Service (Broke Leg, Plates in Shoulder, etc.) are capable of serving with waivers. Those caught faking injuries to avoid service are liable to a court martial may direct for Malingering.
- Being a Criminal
-
- Criminals are not exempt from service. These people are often put in Penal Units in their IETs, MSTs, and usually their duty stations. Penal Units are almost exclusive to the Marine Corps. Being a Conscientious objector and a criminal puts you in a manual labor position as the needs of the corps demand.
Initial Entry Training (IET)
12 Weeks Long
IET, Initial Entry Training, or Boot Camp is the first stop in any Spacers, Marines, Soldiers, or Guardians make in their service. Trainees must complete events, meet physical qualifications, and pass educational activities.
Mission Specialty Training (MST)
12 to 36 Weeks, Specialty dependent
MST or Mission Specialty Training is the second stop. Trainees are taught their mission specialties here.
Duty Station
12 to 36 weeks to Standdown
Duty Stations differ from in the branches.
Navy - New Spacers are almost without exception assigned to a vessel.
Marine Corps - Based on Mission Specialty, Marines are assigned to vessels or ashore installations
Celestial Defense Forces - Dependent on MS. Few are vessels and most are ashore.
Aerospace Defense Forces - Depends on MS, can be vessel or ashore.
Cluster Defense Forces - Depends on MS, can be vessel or ashore.
Standdown
End of Active Service
Once your two years of service are up, there are three choices
Reenlistment - new contract, bonus pay etc
Standdown to Cluster Defense Force Reserves - 1 weekend a month 4 weeks a year
Standdown to (Navy, Marines, CDF, ADF) Reserves - 4 weeks a year*
*After being in the reserves for x years (dependent on species lifetime or other factors), you are allowed to retire from the service
human - 20
serniani - 200
half serniani - 100
edhel - 100
I don’t know that I ever said this outside of my own head, but the existence of the Transmutation is not public knowledge within the sector, it’s a closely-guarded secret within TwAs
hi so i never fully clarified when vandalence was founded
SY 15 // 1508 BBT is the year the Vandalence Compact is created
