Distinguished Members of the Assembly:
@Welly’s term as Chair is set to conclude next week on October 1. Having confirmed to me their willingness to continue, I am introducing this resolution to re-elect Welly for another three month term. Welly has done an outstanding job as Chair, and I believe the region will benefit tremendously from their continued leadership. This resolution is also a tad more flowery than the last, just to make @Griffindor extra happy.
September 2025 Chair Resolution
A resolution to re-elect Welly as Chair of the Assembly
WHEREAS, Welly’s term as Chair is set to conclude on October 1, 2025; and
WHEREAS, Welly has proven to be an exceptional legislator, rising through the ranks of Assembly leadership with unwavering dedication, intellect, and commitment to serving the South Pacific; and
WHEREAS, Welly was formally elected as Chair of the Assembly on June 4, 2025, following the departure of the previous Chair, Nwahs, and has since fulfilled the responsibilities of the office with distinction, embodying the highest standards of leadership, impartiality, and grace; and
WHEREAS, during their tenure as Chair, Welly has worked tirelessly to ensure the smooth functioning of the Assembly, upholding the dignity of Assembly proceedings and maintaining an environment in which all voices are heard, debates remain civil, and productive dialogue flourishes; and
WHEREAS, Welly has also successfully advanced an ambitious legislative agenda, including but not limited to reforming the Citizenship Act and repealing and replacing the Judicial Act, thereby ensuring a more equitable and efficient government for the South Pacific; and
WHEREAS, the Assembly firmly believes that Welly’s exemplary performance warrants the continuation of their leadership, and that their re-election to the position of Chair for a further term would ensure the continued stability and progress of the Assembly’s work.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED BY THE ASSEMBLY:
That @Welly is hereby re-elected to serve as Chair of the Assembly until January 1, 2026 5:00 PM.
