- Applying for membership in the World Forum
- Applying for observer status in the World Forum
- Discussing an application

- Notifying the Speaker about the intent to terminate or demote a country's status in the World Forum
Suspensions and expulsions of members usually happen through standard resolutions, which is why a separate topic for each suspension or expulsion from the World Forum is needed.
How to use this topic
1./2. Applications for membership or observer status in the World Forum
To apply for membership or observer status, the applicant must fill out the following form and post it as reply to this thread (using the blue “Reply” button at the very bottom):
Full name of state:
Two-letter country code:
Three-letter country code:
Head of state:
Head of government:
Potential World Forum representative:
Proposed status of state in World Forum:
If a country code is already in use, please be aware that the Speaker* will choose a different country code for your nation.
Once the application is published, you need to wait until the Speaker or Deputy Speaker comes around to bring the application up to a vote in the Assembly.
3. Discussing an application
If the Assembly is unsure on whether they want to grant membership or observer status to an applicant, they are allowed to discuss that matter within the voting period. To do that, members shall reply on the application post directly (using the “Reply” button in the application post), also when reacting on another member’s message. This way, the discussion is protocolled in the best way possible in this topic.
4. Voting on an application
The Speaker or Deputy Speaker will reply to the application (by using the “Reply” button visible in the applicant’s post) and will use the “Build poll” function to create a single choice poll, in which each World Forum member may vote for five days with “Aye”, “Nay” or “Abstain” on whether the applicant should receive membership or observer status in the World Forum. The poll will be limited in time, so that votes cannot be altered after the five-day-period, and will also show, who voted in the poll, so it can be made sure, that only WF members are voting in the poll.
This is how the “Build Poll”-wizard is looking like. The title of the poll is always “[Member/Observer] Application of [Insert Country]”, the available options are always “Aye”, “Nay” and “Abstain”, the poll should be prepared in such a way, that it closes five days from when the poll has started, the result visibility and graphics can be regulated according to the Speaker’s taste and lastly never forget the checkmark at “Show who voted”! To get to that expanded wizard, click on the gear in the “standard” wizard popping up when clicking on “Build poll”.
When polling has concluded, the Speaker or Deputy Speaker edits their original post with the poll to announce the result in there. They should ping the applicant, so that they are notified about the end of the voting and the announcement of the results.
5. Notifying the Speaker about a termination/demotion
To notify the Speaker about the termination of ties between the World Forum and your member or observer nation, or the intent to demote your member nation to observer status, the member or observer replies on this topic (with the blue “Reply” button at the very bottom) and simply submits its notice.
The Speaker or Deputy Speaker will then answer on this notice (by using the “Reply” button in that respective post) by informing the member or observer when the termination or demotion will become active.
If that member or observer wants to retract from this move, they can do so by replying directly to the Speaker’s or Deputy Speaker’s reply (by using the “Reply” button in the Speaker’s/Deputy Speaker’s post). The Speaker or Deputy Speaker does not need to react to that retraction message, the termination or demotion process is cancelled immediately with it.
*OOC: Actually a wiki-editor will most likely notice this and then inform you, you cannot use that country code. Please let them decide on a new code for you, if you haven’t an alternative at hand. Thank you!
