“We’re very closed off, only really leaving the Nebula in very rare circumstances. In fact, where we’re going, you’ll probably be mistaken for a genetic experiment, since knowledge of Edhel is slim to none, and isn’t widely known. Almost every Serniani has a calling to some form of science. It’s almost ritualistic. Nobody really knows why.”

“Communally, Serniani couples usually don’t have children. We only have two trillion persons in the Directorate, since the glassing. Also, Serniani society is heavily matriarchal, politically, it’s a void, and we love our technology. Traditions are… Icky. It depends Station to Station, Planet to Planet. The descendants of Twenty Three Alfa, celebrate ‘Semaine du verre,’ the Week of Glass, to honor those who died there. Fleet Day is a major event, it’s a tradition that dates back to the water navies of Rosecordia. Religiously, most Serniani are atheists or Agnostic. The people of Nexus celebrate their own traditions, but I’ll leave that to Kelsie.”

“Not a lot on our end. Intergration Day is prevelent, but it isn’t celebrated universally. Rift Walkers do go to the Data Forge traditionally after their Trial in Eternity. Speaking of Eternity, that’s where Rift Walkers go to become Rift Walkers. Tradition dictates a year of preparation, then the trial of Eternity, which lasts ten days, but feels like forever, because you are forced to face every single fear of yours. Ah, but I sidetrack, those are the most prevalent.”

“You should tell us a little about Calerostan Culture, since we have you here. Sounds like a fair exchange for what we told you, right?”

“Calerostan culture is very martial, especially since the miraline war. One can say we
are a warrior society. Serving in the imperial navy as a officer or a marine is seen as one of the highest honors a edhel can achieve.
The second pillar of our culture is religion. It is tied into every part of society, to the point that outside observers have called calerost a semi-theocratic state. Sacralige is as much of a crime as breaking the state law. And since the demon hunt we have gotten even more feverous. How could it not if a literal godess helped you hunt down a demon? The church though no longer has power over the state like it did while the inquisition was still in power, it is subservient to the emperor, who is seen as picked by the gods to rule.
When it comes to our people, the term edhel is a very broad one. It simply means any group or person who has the gift of Cuivie, our inborn telepathic abilities. There are many subspecies. For example I’m Velari, the first subspecies of the Edhelrim, the firstborn sons of Ilanor and the gods. My two colleagues over here are two seperate subspecies: Eliari, meaning the edhels of mirial space, and Ellon, a hybrid between human and edhel. There are many more though.”

Loom, Kelsie, and Claire all share uneasy glances at one another as Raithon spoke, unsure of what to think.

“Nebula’s gas may be… Sorry, local reference, you wouldn’t get it.”

“Gods and goddess… Just like that fantasy dice rollin’ game world, no? Silver Coast? Fun rp.”

“. . .”

“Hey. Volissia. Prefecture Capital. Almost back at our NAP to Rosepoint Naval College. Prep to get off.”

“Well, this is where I leave you. See you around.”

“Hey Tristie!”

“Hey Liz.”

“Are those elves genetic experiments?”

Elizabeth points to the Edhel

“No, Liz. Those are Edhel.”

“Okay, well can you guys sign in here?”

Elizabeth takes a pen out and tosses it to Tristie

“Thanks.”

“Uh… Edhel… Names? You can’t enter campus grounds without being a student, teacher, or having a visitor pass. So I’ll take your names, and… You’ll need to remove weapons, since this is a college campus.”

A body guard mumbled

“If i get called a elf one more time…”

A nother jabbed him in the stomach with his elbow

“I am captain Raithon Gilraedar, this is…”

He introduces the group and they hand over their weapons. Each had a Celianor armory MR-32 mirion acceleration pistol, the same ones the legions use, with the body guards also having additional equipment and lady Eatrien a ceremonial sabere.

“Okia, you can walk on in.”

Elizabeth waves Laurisa over as Tristie and the rest of the group moves on

“Hey Loom-senpai.”

“Heya. Is everything alright, Morgan-san?”

“Sorta. Who… Are they?”

“So, you remember me talking about my travels outside the ABH-003 Wormhole?”

“Yeah, what about it?”

“And you remember me talking about the Calerostans?”

“Mhm.”

“Edhel are the Calerostans, Morgan-san.”

“Oh. Alright.”

Laurisa laughs a little

“Anything else?”

“How are things with Callio?”

“He’s with the kid, on leave right now. Cascade is starting sifting protocols, so we might be able to return with a year. If we are even allowed planetside again.”

“Oh, cool. Well, I’ll see you around, I’ll see you around, Loom-senpai.”

“Bye, Morgan-san.”

The campus is very big, and the scream of Balisong SASF is heard as the group walks through the campus

“Ah. Home. Close as it gets, anyways. Where did Laurisa go?”

“Over here!”

Laurisa is being crowded as students gather around her to talk.

“Daughter of a glitch, ugh…”

“I WILL GET THE DEAN DOWN HERE IF YOU ALL DON’T SCRAM!”

the students bolt, deciding they had far better things to do then to harass the alumni

“Thanks.”

“Let’s get moving. I have classes in six hours. Let’s get moving.”

“Who is-”

“Go get it, Ensign, before they become more pissed off.”

“Right away, ma’am…”

“The report’s due at Twenty Eight Hundred.”

“Here you go.”

Alison hands the cube to Tristie, who hands it to Raithon

“Anything cool?”

“Waiting on one of our experiments, seeing if we can replicate something.”

“Nice, any deaths?”

“Nope.”

“Equipment Losses?”

“Nope.”

“Cool, I’m gonna bounce, go get your balisong ready, flight training when I get back.”

“Aye Ma’am.”

“I still can’t believe that you gave that pice of EXOTIC tech that is LITERALLY RIGGED TO SELF DESTRUCT IF TAMPERED WITH to a COLLAGE STUDENT. Are you aware how SEVERELY wrong that could have gone?!!”

He turns to Alison

“If i can ask you dear are you good? Any accidents during the experimenting? What kind of experiments did you do?”

He points at one of the bodyguards

“Can you please give this lady a scan for mirion exposure? We want to be sure she’s fine before leaving”

“Huh? I’m fine, there really wasn’t anything me and my friends couldn’t handle. The anti tamper was fairly easily turned off, we just scanned it, figured out what made it work, there’s a lot of automation here, so nobody was in the room when we popped it open to take a peak.”

“I mean, you can scan me, probably won’t find anything, but go ahead… I guess.”

The guard takes the scanner out and waves it around Alison, then reads what is says

“Only signs of low exposure, concentrated on the hands. Nothing dangerous, you get more mirion exposure by simply living in mirial space.”

“that’s good. If you had by actident broken the containment field for the mirion generator things would have been dire, we would probably have to request from Rosecordia to take you to Calerost for long term treatment. Mirion exposure can get nasty.”

“Oh, that’s nice, my soldering worked. Nice. I’m gonna go tell Avery. She’s worked on this a little, she also got a little sick from Avie’s Pathogen, at least that was the official diagnosis. Want to come with?”

“Avie’s? Is she in the Infectious Disease Ward?”

“She’s non-symptomatic, and on a ventilator. She’s been in the hospital and is on Phage treatment. She’ll be out today.”

“So it’s safe?”

“Yes I am saying she’s safe.”

“If she’s worked on this too at all it would be wise to scan her too. One never knows.”

“Hey Falia.”

“Hey Cesia.”

“Hi Cesia-san.”

“Oh, hey Loom-Senpai.”

“So, the soldering worked, it’s not destroyed. The other few experiments didn’t really work. Uh… There’s not much else going on, besides the replication experiment.”

“Oh, also these Edhel want to scan you for exposure to Mirions we were testing.”

“Oh… Alright. I’m Avery Cesia, Graduate-to-be, 27. It’s nice to meet you, though I apologize for the sorry state you find me in. Avie’s is a fucking bitch, and the Bacteriophages take a lot from you. Go ahead, I consent.”

The guard hovers over her with the sensor

“Same as the other one, basically nothing.”

“Have to give it to you two, this is most impressive. Most calerostan students would get themselves fried by mirions if they attempted something like that. Good job.”

“I’ll be damned, you really pulled that out of your 6 o’ 45.”

“I’ll pass the credit to Cesia-san, her planning made it possible.”

Avery smiles, beamingly

“And they tell me the paralegals and flight specialists can’t do science. Fuck’outta here.”

Avery clicks something on her wristcomp

“Oh, hey, lunch time. Cesia-san, you want to grab a snack or something?”

“Sure, something to fill the hole in my heart after the testing stops later today…”

“Lighten up, there’s always more experiments to do. After I go, anyways, graduation’s in a month. You’ll show right, Loom-senpai?”

“I’ve got PTO, so probably. Anyways, we should get going, Tristie isn’t going to come back any time soon, since Falia-san needs her Pilot’s cert, and Cesia-san is getting lunch. Let’s head back.”

“Don’t get Tristie killed, Falia-san, or else Calio kills me, and now I have to bury bodies.”

“But then I’ll have to help you, and it’s a massive pain in the 6 o’ 45. See you soon.”

“I’ll try!”

“Well we got what we came for, but I’d still like, as it’s my secondary mission goal, to establish the bases of diplomacy between our nations and open the doors to a possible future Calerostan embassy in Rosecordia. Can you someone somehow get me into contact with the right people for that? I don’t know how Rosecordi government works.”

@-DefensiveDuelist: Hey @-MakMak, @-Kelsie, I got a package I need thrown downrange to the other Edhel. Think you can take care of it?
