A jet displaying the flag of the United Provinces lands on one the runway of Valaja International Airport in the city of Pohjoinen, and as the wheels touch the tarmac, the prytanis and his delegation discuss the official visit.

The United Provinces were one of the Empire’s most important allies, having well-developed trade relations, multiple joint-projects and even a treaty for mutual military defense and economic support that had been introduced into the alliance’s pre-existing framework in 2006, during the reign of Empress Hailee III. Such developments were possible thanks to the large economic support that UPRAN had been receiving from it’s very foundation in 1965, after the Rhaynan Civil War.

Therefore, the alliance was as stable and relations were as good as ever, but with the election of Romanos Kanidis as the new Prytanis of the United Provinces in May of 2023, many agreements would need to be renewed. It was moreso a formality than anything else, as the new Prytanis had always held very positive views of the Empire, but an official visit with the Kustannuksan Government would still prove beneficial for public opinion.

The private section of the Valaja International Airport had been cleared from all flights and security had been deployed in multiple key locations within the sections to both ensure safety and to keep an eye on the various reporter and journalist crews that had come to observe the Rhaynan Delegation’s landing. The state reception, composed of the Empress, the Imperial Chancellor and the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Economy and Finance, Internal Affairs and Defense, waited for the arrival of the Delegation’s jet outside one of the private terminals.

The jet comes to a stop, and the press cameras observes the Rhaynan delegation going down the steps of the jet, with Romanos Kanidis coming last after the rest of the members.

They expect a day without many incidents or problems, as it had already become common under the 13 month-old government of Kanidis who, in opposition to his predecessor, involved UPRAN in far less direct and brutal international incidents, for better or for worse.

On the hands of one of the advisors, a gift box with some Rhaynan specialities was prepared for the usual presentation, with products such as books, foodstuff, and replicas of archaeological artefacts.
