Defeat of the Kalrathi - clear message to the Zelvan Regime
The recent Treecuu anti-slavery campaign against the Kalrathi and the complete defeat of the Dominion may serve as a warning to the the Zelvan Regime and their endorsement of slavery according to Treecuu Well history expert Laam.
“The Star Empire has manifested its intent and ability to fight back against slavery. The [Zelvan] Regime is likely to take notice.”
Central Treecuu government members have expressed their desire for a political envoy to be sent to the Regime to discuss these matters and to “avoid any unfortunate and unwarranted escalation.”
Following the joint Treecuu-Stoinian liberation of Kalrathi occupied territories, the Star Empire was able to free all slaves. The next step is to bring them justice; Treecuu authorities have affirmed that the national legal system will grant newly freed systems the right to try the accused according to local laws that were in effect before the Kalrathi occupation.
This affirmation has been well received among freed civilians and slaves. Treecuu law enforcement will assist in bringing Kalrathi slave owners and enablers to justice.
The Star Empire to propose an international antislavery coalition
Sources close to the Treecuu Ministry for Foreign Affairs claim that the Treecuu Government will seek to establish an international coalition against slavery. There have been no official comments so far and no reaction from the western nation the Zelvan Regime, infamous for its slvery-driven ecnomy.
The Treecuu Ministry of Defense has informed the Government that the coreward neighbour the Otmoonan Pentarchy has started militarising its Treecuu-facing regions and that peaceful patrols of the Treecuu defense forces have been harassed by Otmoonan battleships through unfriendly use of active sensors.
The Ministry has responded by ordering additional defense ships to the affected areas and have recommended the Government to take diplomatic action to peacefully diffuse the increasingly tense situation.
A spokesperson of the local Treecuu defense forces informed media of an incident occurring on the Otmoonan-Treecuu border. Two ships with slaves attempted escaping Otmoonan law enforcement ships, but only one of them successfully entered the TSE while the other was destroyed. The Otmoonans demanded the return of their "property", but the Treecuu forces refused, leading to a a stand-off that lasted until Treecuu reinforcements arrived, de-escalating the situation.
The slaves have been granted asylum in the TSE.
“People are not someone’s property. We stood up for basic universal rights while also defending the integrity of our borders”, commented an anonymous member of the Treecuu defense forces present at the incident.
Otmoonan situation: Royal Navy retaliates, conducts massive saturation strike on Treecuu frontier world
Reports are coming in from local authorities of a massive saturation strike on Uuth-Lee, a wholly civilian Treecuu frontier world, leading to massive civilian casualties and damage on critical infrastructure.
Defense Minister Yaamth has made the following statement. “A cowardly attack and a clear escalation that requires a firm response, to be announced.” The Treecuu Security Council is currently in session.
