5-year plan flops as government fails to deliver promises

Since the 2010s, Castemuran politics have been dominated by the left-leaning “Colorado” coalition, which includes many prominent parties such as the Workers’ Party. Since then, Castemura has created an economic policy known as the “5-year plan” to help with planning the economy. However this year’s 5 year plan has been marred with problems, not least of which is due to government mismanagement.

Several key promises, such as tackling unemployment, inflation, and better living conditions have seen progress below expectations. Issues with cartels, corruption, and bribery have also yet to be tackled.

This has proven to be a major blow for the left-leaning Colorados, as the success of both these promises and the 5-year plans have been the backbone to their popularity among average Castemuran.

Police is “10-years outdated”, says opposition

After the incident in San Ancia, the Blanco opposition claimed that the police force is in a state of negligence and funding for the nation’s security services have been cut in order to increase funds for several social policies. They pointed out that the police uses technology that is “far behind compared to other nations’ police force”.
