Earlier today, King Andrei III held a press conference to address the Kingdom in His New Year’s speech. Surprisingly, the King chose to do so in El Palacio Opitaonga instead of from His usual comforts in Sirișor Palace. No doubt a symbolic gesture aligned with His New Year’s speech addressing the hardships of the past year. Furthermore, the Royal family has confirmed the they will celebrate the New Year on Carraca.

“The past year has been one of hardships & resolve. We saw a beloved Prime Minister & friend retire, a resurgence of pirates in the South Pacific and continuous perils across our continents… But let us not forget this year also was the year wherein a fruitful mandate ended in the World Forum, our markets continued to rise, our democratic institutions survived strains and allies banding together to each other’s aid.” the King opened with a short summary of the year. Stoinia had been no small part in the addressed events, having seen the departure of Tudor Segărceanu as Speaker of the World Forum, but also being in the midst of tensions with the terrorist attack on Keanu & Hurley funneled by Conegasque billionaires.

“Yet I stand here today not in Sirișor Palace, but el El Palacio Opitaonga. The beating heart of the Commonwealth. The past years our Kingdom has been on the forefront to reiterate its position on the international stage after a historic period of inner growth. With the coming year, we will reiterate this nation’s strength in its overseas bonds. The Commonwealth will become a focus point on the next year. We will show Pacifica what true cooperation & prosperity looks like and again set an example to this world. No longer just through our commitments in the World Forum or military policy, but through commerce & culture as well. One in which I myself will dedicate effort to nourish the Commonwealth’s needs in the coming year.”

Similar to the King’s New Year’s promise, Prime Minister Sujin announced fiscal reforms in the next year to stimulate trade between Commonwealth members. In His speech, the King also voiced his plans for a Commonwealth tour with the aims to work towards culture preservation programs as globalisation threatens to extinguish endangered (micro-)cultures. In His final words, the King affirmed this stance: “Stoinia has always been a nation with tradition written on its bones. In 2024, we will consolidate all of our cultures from Sinaia’s operettes to the Garāori haka’s & Corinian folk dances. When nation’s lose their identity in the face of globalisation, Stoinia will not forget the ways of her forefathers.”
