Resident Spotlight: Qaweritoyu/Qaz

I’m Qaz. I’ve been on NS since September 2013.
I was a resident of TSP from 2013 to 2015, 2017 to 2023 and 2025 to Present. I was a resident of Brightport from 2015 to 2017 and TEP from 2023 to 2025.
Outside of NS and TSP, I am a qualified Music and Religion teacher, a trained opera singer, a sound engineer, a DJ and I write Doctor Who fanfic, and produce it on Second Life in machinima and upload it to YouTube as I finish it. I am a massive Doctor Who fan. I think it’s fair to say I come across a bit grumpy in TSP, but I am actually, in RL, very laid-back and try to be a funny person; sometimes that just naturally happens, sometimes it takes a bit more effort. I think this is the area I am most misunderstood in.
I founded in TSP in September 2013, so that was when I discovered the region, and it was the summer after I joined that Kris was Delegate, and turned the region orange in support of the Netherlands in the World Cup, so that was my sort of introduction to TSP. It was calling itself the Party Region back then. The concept of being in the Party Region was exciting to me, and it really did feel like the Party Region, where the party never ended. I did, of course, move away, but I always came back because I couldn’t shake off the feeling that I belong here, through thick and thin.
My involvement in TSP has spanned almost a decade, beginning in 2017 as a Legislator and as Commissary of Gameside Affairs for the Southern Progress Party. Since then, I have held a wide range of diplomatic, governmental and legislative roles, including serving as Ambassador to Europeia, the Rejected Realms, the North Pacific, the East Pacific, Lazarus, the West Pacific, Osiris, the Pacific, Conch Kingdom and Europe. I have also served as Secretary of State, Advisor to the Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Chair of the Assembly, Acting Minister of Foreign Affairs, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs, OWL Administrator of Discussion and Voting Affairs, MoC Advisor and MoC Ministry Fellow. After serving as a TSP Legislator from 2017–2022, I returned to the Assembly in 2025 and remain a Legislator today.
