Theme Thursday: Greek Mythology

On August 6th, the Ministry of Culture announced a new fun weekly event: Theme Thursday! Citizens compete to match the theme presented for the week, and a special role is given to the winner of each weekly event.
The First Theme announced was Greek Mythology, with Citizens given 24 hours to change their profiles and names on Discord to match the theme. Many excited citizens competed, with a whopping 17 citizens competing for the 1st edition of Theme Thursday.
With the theme being based on Greek Mythology, different citizens edited their discord names to match with the different themes. Examples of this included Heliseum changing his name to Helios-ium, after Helios, the Titan God representing the Sun; and HumanSanity changing his name to HeraSanity after Hera, the Queen of Gods. Many citizens also changed their profile pictures to match the theme, making the South Pacific feel very mythological.
The winner of the competition was 
Void , with his entree of Voiberous . For his special entree, deemed by the Ministry of Culture as the best entree, Void received the Event winner role for the week! Below is an exclusive interview the The South Pacific Gazette was able to have with the 1st Winner of the New Revamped Theme Thursday!
REOJ: What was your submission for Theme Thursday? How did you tie it to Greek Mythology?
Void : Well, my submission was Voiberous , based on Cerberus, the guard dog of the greek underworld. I thought it was fitting, since my usual pfp is a cat.
REOJ: Lovely! Did the idea come immediately to you?
Void : Not immediately, I thought about basing my entry off of satyrs, sirens, sycilla, or even a cat from greek mythology (though I didn’t find any catlike beasts, man -m-), but I eventually settled on Cerberus.
REOJ: Nice! Did you change your pfp at all for theme Thursday?
Void : Yep! I changed it to a close up of Cerberus from “Cerberum domat Hercules”, an etching made in 1606. …

With Void winning the first edition of Theme Thursday, many were excited for the second edition of Theme Thursday, announced on August 20th. The theme this time was Ice Hockey, with participants being given 48 hours to attempt to win the coveted discord role of Event Winner!
5 People participated in this edition of Theme Thursday, with participation going down 70 percent compared to the First Edition of the Event, possibly due to the fact there was a 2 week wait for the event, following the highly successful first edition.
Regardless, the submissions for the event were high quality, with Olivrser winning with their entree of Roanoke Rail Yard Dawgs. By digging-through secret tapes within the Lampshade Bar, TSSG found the original Hockey team Olivrser based his entree on, surprisingly a team with the same name based in Roanoke Virginia, competing in the SPHL. According to Olivrser, his motivation behind choosing this SPHL team was the fact that it was a “Train Themed Hockey Team”.
