Overview
The Coempireal Protectorate Network, also known as the CPN or simply as the Protectorate Network, is a political and economical alliance of multiple polities and civilizations in Sector A1-0 established by the Confluence in 0 ABT following the diplomatic exchanges within the Zahamana Commonwealth.
As the name implies, the Network was created with the intent of extending the Confluence’s protection against aggression and other violations of law to any of its allied polities, empires and nations that may need it. In addition to military defence, members of the CPN also have access to a series of widespread services performed by the Confluence, such as:
- the exchange of technologies and scientific information.
- the expansion of the protectorate’s industrial apparatus through megastructures for both resource extraction and manufacture.
- the creation of new living space through planetary engineering, habitat construction and various kinds of megastructures primarily intended for habitation.
- the establishment of an artificial wormhole network connecting the protectorate’s territories together, as well as connecting it to the wormhole networks of the Confluence and other CPN members.
In exchange, members of the Network must allow for free trade and the free movement of capital and citizens between one another: most importantly though, they must recognize the Confluence’s suzerainty and follow its foreign policy.
Joining the Network
To join the CPN, applicant nations and polities must meet a number of requirements.
- All citizens within the nation must be equal to one another, regardless of sex, gender, sexual orientation, ideology, beliefs, species and form of existence.
- The nation must recognize the sapience, rights and equality of sapient species, clades and citizens from other nations.
- The nation must recognize the sapience and rights of sapient Artificial Intelligences.
