Subject - Project Firewind Light
Firewind Light is a study by the Linden Prefectural Naval Academy’s Science and Technology Board, to prove the existence of other ‘habitable’ universes, like realspace. Firewind Light was supported by the Union Internal Security Agency’s M37 Branch office, with the project taking place in a secluded location called Ophelia’s Repose, just inside the Ventuu Badlands.
On August 21st, contact with Ophelia’s Rest III was lost. Before all contact was lost, the off-site security team transmitted that they were investigating a security alarm being tripped in the study laboratory that would prevent the overloading of one of the facilities two monopole-enhanced fusion reactors.
On August 22nd, A UISA Commandeered Scout Frigate, UNDFV Silent Running investigated and found that the planet had vanished. The ship began investigating.
On August 23rd, Silent Running received a hail through its own internal messaging service. Although initially dismissed as a prank by an engineering technician, a UISA analyst took note of the speaker’s similarities to the researcher, McKenzie Porters. This is the first recorded instance of a presumed MIA person speaking over the radio.
Through the week of August 24th, Silent Running did a full orbital sweep of Ophelia’s Rest, looking for irregularities in the system. All while this was occuring the same ghost continued to speak over the IMS. The ship skipper ordered that the IMS be disabled and to use runners. The ship would then be hailed by bounced multi-spectral links, each one a different person in the Reserach Project.
On September 5th, three analysts reactivated the IMS and spoke into it. The voice told the analysts to conduct a skysweep in the star’s corona. While initially hesitant, a burn through sweep in the area revealed a blackhole-like spacetime anomaly, missed due to earlier scans not having the fidelity to acquire it.
September 17th, UISA Freighters and Researchers from the Linden Prefectural Naval Academy arrive on site.
September 18th, Ophelia’s Repose is removed starcharts and classified as a black system (travel inadvisable, spacetime anomaly) in internal services. Close family members and spouses informed that they perished in a sundering heat wave.
September 20th, UISA Field Agents Katelyn Smith and Kaori Maeno are dispatched to conduct interviews of subjects involved in the incident.
