In the major update of December 19, 2022, the South Pacific Special Forces, in conjunction with our military allies and partners, liberated New Westphalia from the grasp of raider forces including Lone Wolves United, the Black Hawks, and more. Over the course of 48 hours, defender forces worked tirelessly to defeat the occupying forces and liberate the region.
In military operations like these, every warrior has an important role to play. From experienced personnel to civilian volunteers, every South Pacifican who contributed to this victory made a meaningful impact through their valiant efforts. Today, it is our distinct honor to bestow each of them with a service ribbon commemorating their service to the Special Forces.
To each and every South Pacifican receiving this ribbon: thank you for your service. Thank you for your commitment, for your dedication, and for your impact. We couldn’t have done this without you, and we look forward to the day where we may once more join up and fight alongside each other.
Over the past week, the South Pacific Special Forces have undertaken an active military deployment to England. Today, it is entering a new strategic phase of its military operations in England, shifting from relentless attack to diligent defense. In the course of the past week, Special Forces personnel and civilian volunteers alike have demonstrated admirable passion, dedication, and persistence; and as we undergo this transition, we would like to take a moment to recognize these efforts.
Across 14 different sieges, the Special Forces fielded 34 unique updaters, who signed on to participate in sieges 178 different times. In the process, the Special Forces achieved a new record for single-update turnout, with 24 different updaters participating in the major update of March 18, followed up by strong turnout of 18, 20, and 18 updaters respectively in the following three updates since then.
Conducting sieges across 14 consecutive updates, with a trend of increasing turnout, is a testament to the dedication of both the Special Forces personnel and the civilian volunteers who joined them. It is a testament to the determination to fight on, day after day, and to the passion for defending an innocent native community subjected to unjust regional occupation. As the fight dragged on, that resolve only strengthened.
In recognition of these efforts, we are proud to award all those who dedicated their valiant service to the defense of England with a commemorative ribbon to celebrate their efforts.

In the major update of September 19, 2023, the South Pacific Special Forces, in conjunction with our military allies and partners, swept into the region of Magna Aurea, marking the end of seventeen days of raider control. This marked the culmination of tireless work by defender forces across seventeen updates of sieges, as well as seventeen updates of vigilance in anticipation of a potential attempt to refound the region under permanent raider control — a risk that ultimately materialized, and which defender forces were well prepared for.
It is an honor today to recognize the passion, dedication, and commitment that ran through these efforts: the passion to defend the native community of Magna Aurea, the dedication to arrive on the battlefield update after update, and the commitment to remain vigilant after it may have seemed the world had moved on.
To each South Pacifican receiving this ribbon today: thank you for your service. Whether this was your first operation or your thousandth, we remain forever grateful for your valiant efforts on the battlefield, and we are honored to bestow this service ribbon as a symbol of that gratitude. It is our hope that you will carry it forward as a reminder of this operation, with the colors of and a laurel wreath inspired by the regional flag of Magna Aurea, and with seventeen leaves on each branch — seventeen updates of sieges, and seventeen updates of vigilance.
In the major update of November 21, 2023, the South Pacific Special Forces and our military allies and partners seized control of Philippines, marking the end of raider occupation of the region after 33 updates. On this occasion, we commemorate the efforts of the South Pacificans who made this operation possible, who dedicated their time and passion in defending a native community with a storied history, who each participated and contributed — no matter how many updates they attended — to this operation.
On the 23rd of September, the South Pacific Special Forces and its allies were faced with the sudden challenge of a desperate raiderdom following their historic decline in recent months. Fighting through a pile of over 80 raiders, a devious bend and 5 ban-capable officers, the following brave souls joined in one of the largest coalitions in NS history to quickly and decisively liberate a region in need.
These soldiers have demonstrated their great will and dedication to defending the free regions of NationStates, and it gives me great honor to present them with this ribbon in recognition of their service.
