A few things have been retconned in lore- I am going to update dispatches to reflect that. It’s not too big an issue as there isn’t much to retcon : P
- Chum Chum is an Anglicized/Australized (?) version of the native name Chu’chu, in lea-Api.
- The country directly to the north is Solland (Sourand in Southern lea-Api, spoken in Chum Chum, and Sorand in Northern lea-Api, spoken in Solland.)
- There is a country to the east of Chum Chum, called Lapiso.
- The other side of the western border of Solland is the Daimatan Reich.
- lea-Api is the language of the Apiikuna, natives to Solland and a few other places that don’t really matter for now.
- Daimata had previously taken over Sollandic territory and brutally oppressed the Apiikunan people.
- Solland eventually repelled Daimata, forming a new government. Notably, the fear of further subjugation motivated the new Sollanders to turn militarized and slowly descended into fascism. The current leader is Allia-dea Sol* (Allia of the Sun).
- The April Burning, in which the capital building of Solland was set on fire and the leader brutally killed, resulted in mass deaths as a result of the fire spreading and destroying factories, farms, and homes. Refugees escaped in the chaos and settled the uninhabited land of Chum Chum. Since then, “shuttles” of boats have been sent to Solland taking a few people to Chum Chum at a time. They are exceedingly dangerous as Sollanders will shoot at the boats.
As of now, Solland aims to retake Chum Chum and integrate both the territories for the Apiikuna- as they believe it will protect them.
Chum Chum cannot militarize to defend itself.
Lapiso’s strategic position is being exploited (I will elaborate on this!!

*No, Solland is not a monarchy. lea-Api naming conventions often have last names that are related to nature or significant features of a place.
