Dear representatives to the World Forum,
Viridia has stood idly by, waiting for a World Forum-mandated peacekeeping operation as stipulated under the approved Res. 25 Section C, point 5. The situation has grown dire and the continued involvement of the Kingdom of Emerald has not resulted in a viable peace solution in our eyes. Its continued involvement into the region, we perceive as a threat to regional stability on top of existing destabilizing factors. Furthermore, we fear that the Kingdom of Emerald wishes to install a friendly regime according to its own interest rather than those of the region’s stability or domestic legitimacy. Viridia has remained the rock of stability in the Gulf of Good Omen, but there’s no guarantee it will remain so despite our security guarantees with other nations. Even so, as we take in refugees into Viridia as is our humanitarian duty, we fear the conflict will extend into our borders as it previously has within the region. Because of this real threat that continues to persist, we wish to proceed as follows.
We call for an immediate peacekeeping mission into our neighbouring countries according to WFR 1d Sec. F Subsec. 2 Ltr. m. To that extent, Viridia is open to organise and provide troops for that goal to operate under the WF banner to achieve that goal. We recognise the non-binding nature of the passed resolution, but call upon all willing nations to help us secure this ongoing conflict.
We recognize that diplomatic talks are an option, but fail to see them as real alternatives as actors wish to further their own interests by delegitimising sovereign actors in crumbling state. Thus, only a direct WF peacekeeping mission seems to be the only path forward.
We therefore call upon a Coalition of the Willing, to aid us in an effort under the WF-banner to sustainably secure peace in the Gulf of Good Omen.
– Paúl Murillo, Ambassador of Viridia
